Never owned either, but I have cruised up and down the beaches of San Luis Pass (Galveston, TX) in a Geo Tracker while rocking to Janis Joplin. And that was with my late father-in-law; his Tracker and his Joplin cassette.
The eBay listing claims the 217rwhp is equal to 290hp at the crank. That's a parasitic loss of around 26% which seems a bit extreme. I’ve always used 15% as a good middle-of-the-road rule of thumb. 15% would give the engine a rating of 255hp at the crank. That would put the engine much closer to Caterhams USA's original 260hp estimate.
