  1. My wife donated to one and my bro inlaw donated to the other over 10 years ago so the natl don't call list does no good with them. We have tried a number of times to politely ask to be removed to no avail so atleast now the calls are short.
  2. My wife has done this several years. One of my other pet peves is the call rooms that solicite for Sheriff dept and Disabled vetrans which I'm sure very little goes to either cause. I have started responding to the Sheriff that I am a disabled former San Francisco deputy (true) how do I get on the list to receive procedes, same for the Vet (also true), the response is a click but I still havn't been taken off the call list.
  3. Many .... years ago I built a dunebuggy using a VW convert body with a Baja kit but never quite got around to making a top. It was my only auto so rain or shine. I found that as long as you kept some speed you didn't get too wet. I would stop at a restaurant and put trash bags over the seats I would park so I could see it. There was nearly always a croud around it shaking thier heads, I was inside dry they were in the rain making fun of the funny little car with no top.
  4. My prefference would probably Montana or Colorado though the logistics of attending will have to be looked at. A strong suggestion would be to pick a location where there is more to do for the non auto significant others that dosn't require a 200 mi round trip.
  5. The option not mentioned is to build, for those of us without he re$ource$ to buy. This is a longer path though with planning you can get the equipment desired initialy. I should have traded my AC Bristol for the Lotus 11 years ago when I had a chance.
  6. Musta gotten confused cause the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
  7. Neither would load.
  8. Got my watch when I returned home, THANKS Mazda. I believe the odor is from thedye used and even iff it is subdued it will probably come back when it is worn n a hot day when the strap is wet with sweat. The fix issimple since I realy don't like buckling leather bands I swapped to a metal band, problem solved. A note this watch has no water resistance so wear carefully.
  9. Something that would be interesting would be to have Ary measure the thickness of removed tubing.
  10. I started into this intending on using a 2.3T, got one laying around, till I compared weight to a 302 or 351.
  11. If the check paying for the car was sent thru USPS then you might be able to get the postoffice to take some action under mail fraud.
  12. I had a tan Toyota corolla, the one that looked like a fastback mustang, years ago. It was taged from behind the first drive then several times in parking lots, no notes. The last time was in a parkinglot by a cement truck that said he didn't see it. I took that as a clue and got rid of it that week before someone got hurt.
  13. A happy/merry to all. Headed to FL fri nough of this cold white stuff.
  14. I'm sure you would be protested for having some kind of unfair advantage.

Having spent time in VA hospitals I can understand, gotta remember that.
  19. In an attempt to gain traction I am trying to allow room for a retrofit of AWD. One thing that came up was the need for a body that was AWD initialy. FWIW the Jeep YJ/TJ is a 93" wheelbase and the current JK is 96" both of which came with a hardtop and have flat sided body very easy to replicate and a track width similar to a 7. The JK with a bit of thought put into the splitter and brake ducts between the splitter and fender could probably be a bit more aero than a 7 and the replica body draped over a 7 minus the nose.
  20. If someone gets it I would be willing to scan and put on CD.
  21. FWIW I believe #37 is a one off special built by Chapmans engineer for his own use. It is also a FHC. Dosn't Caterham offer a hard top?
  22. Especialy in the house.:jester:
  23. Here is a brochure I bought off Ebay which helped in pre inspection discussions with the inspection station. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-LOTUS-SEVEN-SERIES-1-ORIGINAL-IMP-BROCHURE-58-60_W0QQitemZ320178863154QQihZ011QQcategoryZ6762QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://locostusa.com/forums/files/imp4_179.jpg http://locostusa.com/forums/files/imp3_147.jpg http://locostusa.com/forums/files/imp2_196.jpg http://locostusa.com/forums/files/imp1_254.jpg
  24. You might want to read over this build log http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1586&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 since it is just about what it sounds like you want to build. I'm doing similar using a Mk VII as a donor. The 5.0 is strength challenged so I will probably use a 351.
