  1. Steve, funny but that is not how it usually works

I used the same lights on my vertically enhanced roll bar, they work great. It's a pain to fish the wire through the exit hole though. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/mjohnson555/seats/CSR/Sevens%20track%20day%20Nov%202011/DSC01051.jpg Karl
  3. I'd also like to see more details on the car, it sounds like a reasonable starting price to me...
  4. 40K for the best Se7en bragging rights does not sound that bad to me. However, based on my experience for getting the Formula Atlantic Cosworth motor in my car, the cost of "getting it to work well" in an experimental setup could be considerably more. And, running at half throttle on the track is plenty exciting for me!
  5. I got a kit from Premier Paint Guard in the UK and it fit great. http://www.premierpaintguard.co.uk/caterham_paint_protection_film.html
  6. Tom, These tires fit 6-8" rims in the front and 8-10 in the rear. I suspect your wheels are way too wide!!! 7. Ya know Mike, I have a set of 13" bias ply Avon Formula Continental slicks that have never been used that I could let go real cheap! I figured out it's too much work to switch from radials to bias ply. They might be just what you need to stay on the track!!!
  8. Great event Tom, thanks for coordinating it. Mike, you got lucky with the drive, the Garden State Parkway was a mess and I did not get home till 6:30; traffic in NJ is always fun. Thankfully, I was in the comfort of a tow vehicle.
  9. I got mine from Roger Kraus Racing on a special order (a few weeks) and they were great to deal with. They stock a limited supply of Avon slicks too.

    Fuel cell

MoPho, Why don't you like the ATL fuel cell? I was thinking about putting one in but don't know much about what it takes yet. Karl
  11. I had good luck with Straight Roads. It's a small company and was recommended to me by Ben at Caterham USA. Ask for Gary. http://www.scottsdalecorvettes.com/Straightraods/straight_roads.htm
  12. Great tires, I've got them in 205/55-13 and 245/50-13 and use them as my rain tires for the track and on the street.
  13. The german cars with their fancy wipers and roofs stayed out only a few laps longer. We got a replacement date in November. I need studded tires. After a 90 mile deive with the trailer (top speeds of 20) we arrived home to no power and lots of down branches. At least I got to use the little honda generator I picked up at NJMP this summer. I even got to work in a little "I told you we'll need it" to the little woman.
  14. I bet this is all media hype... SCDA is running their Lime Rock event tomorrow, rain, shine or flurries. Maybe I'll break out my doors for this one. Any recommendations on tires for the cold? My options are Avon CR500s or Michelin Slicks. Unfortunately, I don't have snow tires.
  15. Ron, I knew you would be hooked. If you go for the aero screen you won't need the washer bottle! I'll be putting one on over the winter as I got another stone chip in the windscren at Summit Point this weekend.
  16. Mike (aka Croc) had the same issue. George Alderman showed me some line that came with an R500 kit he built that looked like the same stuff. Almost seems to be black rubber fuel hose, but it's not labeled as fuel hose... Strange... I mentioned it to Jon at Caterham USA and I think Mike did as well. These lines are not under pressure, but you could get degraded nitrile in your brake fluid and mess up your paint. Neither one is great. Karl
  17. Very cool, I lived in Weehawken until a few years back. It will be interesting to see the route.
  18. I wanted to give a shout out to George Alderman at Mid-Atlantic Caterham. I picked my car up from my local shop, after having the hoses to the brake fluid reservoir replaced, last night. (yes the ones from the factory were sweating brake fluid) I thought the brakes felt soft and had to head out early to a track day at Summit Point tomorrow. I called the shop on my way to an early meeting on the jersey shore and asked if I could stop into the shop to have them looked at. They said sure and before I knew it, the car was up on a lift getting the brakes bled. George was able to extract the elusive air that had had not been able to be removed with 3 brake bleeds. Thanks George, you're great! Karl
  19. not just another pretty car, it's darn quick!!! Glad he has the deluxe radar detector. Karl
  20. Yes, they are extra wide and comfortable. I suspect they won't fit.
  21. I've got a set of black leather Caterham seats that were used for about 1,500 miles. They came out of an 2009 SV. I think they are bout 16" wide at the base, but can measure them if you are interested. Karl
  22. Fun day on the road. Exoticars was filled with amazing cars and Mike led the pack of 5 Sevens on some great back roads. Karl
  23. Sounds like we will have a good Se7en showing!
  24. Gas situation all squared away. I'll see you guys there. Ron, are you out there? You should join us. Karl
  25. I should make it, just need to figure out how to bring along some extra race gas!
