OK already, parts are going back on, but this is taking for ever, and I have a pass for a track weekend coming up Saturday and Sunday. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00077-20110411-1849.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00076-20110411-1849.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00073-20110411-1848-1.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00072-20110411-1847-1.jpg

Mike, Be sure to let me know when your new car gets here. For anyone who has not seen Mike's 2004 SV, it's a very nice car. I hope it finds a new home in time to enjoy the driving season. Karl

Ron, You better crack the whip on Ben so he is done in time for NJMP on June 27th! Karl

Mike, Fantastic photos, can't wait to see it in person. Does Secret Sauce taste good on 100+ octane petrol? Karl
-
Mike, any pictures of the CSR? Don't make us beg! Karl

Hey there! Croc is right on the SV/CSR Tillet CF seats. I'm on the zone diet so I'll be able to fit. I'm a 40ish and the Tillets are just too tight in the hip bones. Anyway, they make a good motivation to diet... The Tillet seats do look marvelous. Karl

If anyone out there has a recommendation for a good tuner in the NYC area I'd like to hear. My ECU is a MBE unit mapped by Cosworth. Karl

I would ask ratchet (Rich) on the forum.

I can recommend Mike's SV. Even a guy 6'6" can fit in an SV, although people tend to applaud when I extract myself. Karl

OK, it looks like my plan is starting to come together. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00049-20110326-0902.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00048-20110326-0902.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00047-20110326-0902.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00046-20110326-0902.jpg

The promotional materials from Cosworth UK show the single long roller barrel assembly for their UK built motors. I think Caterham puts the same two part roller barrel units on the CSR motors that they use for the R400/R500 motors, but I'm not 100% sure. I think the two part units are made by Titan for Caterham. http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=3768 http://www.titanraceproducts.com/weberrollerbarrels.asp

Mike, I suspect they will be very close to the same. From what I could gather from Cosworth USA and Cosworth UK all the parts should be the same. I did put in 13:1 compression ration pistons and the billet crank. (I needed a few extra HP to haul my extra weight about.) I stuck with the Titian dry sump tank and Modine oil cooler, and I think yours will have a Caterham specific tank that uses the bellhousing somehow...

Yes, starting March 28th non-PCA members can register. I signed up as a PCA member thanks to my Porsche labeled Volkswagen (Cayenne). I spoke to the PCA registrar to make sure the Porsche guys delicate senses would not be offended by a Caterham. http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/1BE474FA-BC5E-B487-C19EA1B37116E8DE

If anyone is up for it, April 16/17 is a NASA HPDE event at NJMP. For any other PCA members I am also attending a HPDE at Pocono Raceway May 14/15. I'd love to have other se7ens at both events. (Just trying to get my sea legs with the new setup so I can keep up with Croc and Ron.) I spoke to Dave Nagler (also very active in LEO at one time) and he confirmed that Atwell is well, just strapped for time. Any new volunteers to keep LEO going would be welcome. Apparently no one is coming forward. Karl

I'm jealous of your tall roll bar. I am having one made for my SV and am curious to see just how much taller the tall roll bar is.

Sean, Cosworth USA had no idea if it would fit for sure, so I am trusting that Cosworth UK knows better. I guess I'll find out next week! I hope to get it all back together to take it to a HPDE at Lime Rock April 2nd. I'll have to call in sick at work a couple of days to work on breaking in the motor.

Here are some photos of the Cosworth motor on the shipping dock! It should arrive in New Jersey the middle of next week. Unfortunately not in time to enjoy temps near 70 tomorrow. I did hear today that the Caterham loom does not come close to fitting on the Cosworth bits. I guess the coils and sensors are different. My biggest fear about the new mortor was getting the electronics to all match up... http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/Engine3.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/Engine2.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/Engine1.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/Engine4.jpg
