1. Thanks for your assistance. John is fine. I spoke with him today. He is just so busy that he does not have time to answer the phone. My tail shaft is still in German Customs with no release date in sight.
2. Will, I think that most D MOD cars at the National level run Hoosiers and a few on Avons or Goodyears

43186 20.0 x 9.0-13 A2500 FA, SR 9.75" 20.6" 64.7" 8-10" 10" 11.0" R25B

3. When MD DMV read te Caterham SS# They said it was a 1998 even though the Caterham Title said it was shipped over to US in 2000. So it is registered as a 1998 Assembled Vehicle. Go Figure>??/
4. Croc, Thanks for the speedo verification. Whatever it is I do know it will not go any faster. ;-)
5. Hi Will, Welcome to our world, where it is the Smiles Per Mile that really count. My 215 HP Caterham at 1,426 lbs with me ans gas, tops out about 139 +/- (Caterham Speedo?) a little on the back straight at VIR about half way down. I have videos bit not posted. Search for Folis Jones Racing on Vimeo and on Youtube, There should be some VIR video from hem there in his Brkin.
6. If your car is under 1,200 lbs you can use four UPS shipping scales (400 lbs ea)and make you own ramps.
7. Thanks tom. Is anyone near Oxford CT that could pay him a visit?
8. 1. maybe he placed them there to make sure people saw him. 2. maybe they were placed there when it broke down or ran out of gas. 3. maybe he was drying them out after being caught in the rain. any other thoughts?
9. It's NOT A REPLICA. IT IS A REAL CATERHAM....yada, yada, ya And so it goes on.
10. The Hollywood Birkin belongs to Russ Strough. We drove together a Summit Point for a few years before he moved to New England. Back then there were two Birkins and two Caterhams at most NASA events. I am the the last one running this year. As I recall that is a faster car than mine and Russ was a good driver who took good care of his cars. A good buy for someone.

Folis Jones

Evelyn and Folis met at the track almost fifty years to the day. The following was written by Eric. He also took the photos with the video sent by Evelyn. So often emails can be impersonal, but they are the modern means by which so many of us keep in touch with each other. Whether it is sharing a joke, pictures from one’s latest adventure or sharing the latest stories they make it easy to spread connections throughout the world. Unfortunately, life moves too fast sometimes. Situations develop and time seems to stand still for a moment. Then you realize it is gone. On April 22nd at about 7:45 p.m. death finally had its day and managed to capture the great one, Folis Jones. He had lived a life like no one else. Fast and deliberate. He served our nation as Senior Chief in the US Navy, much of that time aboard submarines. He then went on to a career with the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Chief Psychologist. Throughout his life he enjoyed the rush of adrenalin. He built and raced cars, airplanes and live life to its fullest. He had managed to cheat death on a number of occasions but Friday night it was inescapable. He passed quietly and peacefully surrounded by his friends and loved ones. Whether you knew Folis from work or play, in person or only through the internet, you know he was special. He touched so many lives and left his mark on the world. Please take time to remember him. The family will be hosting a celebration of his life sometime later this year. “He has slipped the surly bonds of earth and is dancing the skies on laughter-silvered wings” Here is his last drive in his new Radical SR3 earlier this month at Roebling Road. Folis went to the ER on Tuesday, the 19th and was admitted with S4 cancer. On Friday he passed. Evelyn told me - there is something planned at the NASA Hyperfest weekend at VIR, May 20 -22 but I don't know what day. He will be missed.
12. My thanks to Mike and Tom for making this happen AGAIN! We are registered and look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting the 1st timers.
13. Ted, I am in the midst pulling the motor and trans. Once I get them out I will put the nose and bonnet back on along with a few boards on the cage to make it a little taller and wider. Then I can see how much stretch is left. Even if it is on jack stands. You are looking for +3.5" in width and 1" taller cage with +8" in length, Correct? Who cares about the sides as long as the rain can't get in the seating area :-)

15. I think the PC term is Plus Size with 18" wheels and all ;-)
16. Shoe String, Sen the dimensions to me and I will check them against my car/cage w clamshells while I am working on it this weekend.
17. Mike, This cover does as well. I have had two other covers in the past. Both were overly large and difficult to manage. This one is almost perfect even with the full cage. I would use the straps if I kept the car outside any length of time. Currently I only use it over night at the track. Keep in mind that this cover is actually made for a Caterham Seven so it is form fit. Other Sevens may have a slightly different shape.
18. Nice looking car. It appears to have a rounded top on the tunnel. Is the drive shaft framed in or just covered?

20. Matching wheels must be a thing of the past. Trendsetter. ;-)
21. BAT in Florida may have one if Quantum Mechanics in Oxford CT doesn't. What about one of the Caterham dealers??
22. Mike, You could ahv thrown a party that time in the Villa. Then it would have been worth it. ;-)
23. Stewart, Sorry to hear about your landing. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
