maybe find a saab owner for the current intercooler if its a problem. I think a 2nd design could be a larger core(+50%) and have teh endtanks on teh right and left. the tank on teh passengerside for exiting air shoudl be at the top so u can run piping along the top of radiator if possible, or in between teh engine and radiator. i don't remember how much clearance there was in an ultralite around teh radiator.
-
has that intercooler setup been tried before? it looks like the endtanks are going to impede a lot of air circulation to the radiator.

could always use the vermont method of paying their state legislature....DON'T. Congress sould get into DC, quickly get teh business done and go home to their real jobs.

hal, were u using the Ford ECU or going to a standalone unit? when the ECU was ripped out in NC last summer my car died on the spot, but i feel that it may be due to the ciruit being ripped instead of seeing a failing O2 sensor. it won't harm teh engine in either regard. I expect that with teh Ford ECU u will be in either limp mode or the engine just won't power teh ignition.

i pretty much feel the same way, and I don't have a firearm. Its a right i don't have to excercise. I may in the future, and I'm glad that its my choice. I do beleive that a licencing procedure is preferable in most areas where a gun is not neccessary.

 quiet exhaust, talk to Norm beaver i keep my car quiet with a catalytic converter.

teh ra1 and r888 are still Rcomps, and so track orientated. beacause our cars are so light and used seldomly in the wet, those tyres are frequently used as daily drivers. in teh rain, and real rain, not just wet pavement, i would chose not to be on those tyres driing around town. for a daliy driver tyre that can handle rain, and pass the DOT's 140 treadwear rating, 15" Bridgestone Potenza RE01R (i have), Toto R1R, or the new Dunlop Direzza z1 star spec would be fine choices.

i would expect teh hoosier a6 then r6. possible the kumho v710.

Gert has a good write up on how make ur own LED bar. looks like a lightsaber from star wars. its over on CCC iirc.
-
i went with the Caterham kit. It has a Y piece with the harness that go to the rear combination light light and wiring that runs to teh new LEDs. IF u have the spare wheel, its doable. it can be done cheaper if u buy a $20 LED bar and wire it to the roll bar, but some hoods will block it if its on the top of the hoop instead of a diagonal in a FIA bar. http://thumb17.webshots.net/t/68/68/8/55/17/2357855170099946657eyaaAf_th.jpg u can see the platform that comes with teh kit. there is a nut on the rear panel in teh boot that is pretty far down which gets loosened to put that armature in place.

more vendors "Ordered a set of 255/40-17 R888's ($195/each) from Phils Tire Service and he confirmed he's an authorized dealer. This was easiest for me because he'll be bring the tires to the NASA event at VIR at the end of the month. I'll bring my new wheels and get them mounted there. Saves on shipping. For those that don't have that option, Tire Deals 4 Less has a 5% discount code on R888's right now. When you checkout just put "r888" into the coupon field and and hit update quantity to get the discount. Pretty much covers the shipping costs." http://philstireservice.com/pages/tires/tires_toyo_2.htm http://www.tiredeals4less.com/TOYO_Proxes_R888_C789.cfm

it was being used at a test n tune "Posted: Sun Mar 09, 2008 6:45 pm Post subject: Wow...this tire has my vote!!! It was brutally cold at the Meadowlands today, but the regular autocross junkies did show up all dressed as if we were ready to shovel snow. Vaino, Drew, Cousin Joe, Mr. and Mrs. Chang, the Brothers Leone and more...It was sort of like driving on ice, BUT if you want to practice and learn Good Car Control, a cold Autocross day at the Meadowlands will do it. You really had to focus on keeping weight transitions to a minimum and be as smooth as you could...one wrong move and you hit a cone...The Proxy 888 was surprisingly grippy in comparison to the V710 and I would go as far to say that for cold weather events, even Better. I will try this tire at a DE event and I cant wait. Rob Szczsney set a very challenging course, a little complicated for the first event of the year, but what the heck...might as well get back in the game... Thanks to GJ Dixon for helping me set up my car and teaching me the difference between Compression and Rebound . He was FTD (in my car on the Proxy 888s ) with a 47.5 and I came in 2nd (as usual ) with a 48.1. Drew had a spectacular time of 50.xx. Cousin Joe about 51.xxx. Steph burned up the course in a Mini Cooper and Chris drove a Really Fast BMW on R comps. John Flynn stopped by to try out his new camera and took some shots with his new 3 foot lens... , maybe he will post some pics... All in all, it was cold but it was Great to be amongst the group of die hard Autocrossers... There is another MSNE event next Sunday and although it will probably be cold it was FUN, and it is Great Car Control Training... Thanks to Michael G. for getting us out there on March 9th...the longer the season the Better... In 2nd Place as usual, 611" i should have my set mid april or may. http://racetire.com/products/toyo_r888.htm fo a vendor. 235 wide in 15"

NEPA has a tenative schedule. partial sites... still can't figure why u'd take a s2 where a 80hp engine could rip itself out of its mounts and travel off in a direction different than the rest of the 7. :7frog: It would have to be Ebrahimi'd to make it safe. could u stand to see ur 7 go thru the Franken7 process? Even once? :ack: -
ask ur nephew for his recomendation

In and around the NYC area the roads are attrocious. the bridges suffered greatly from teh fiscal crisis of the 70s and the money for repairs and maintenance was not put back until the late 80s. we still have long term construction on the Williamsburg Br, a project that has been ongoing for 20+ years. most of teh bridges and tunnels, auto and rail, date from the new deal at best, most from 1910s and 20s. And just the road quality is piss poor. not that the funding isn't there, its that the oversight is lacking or corrupt. the local DOTs and contractors do not have the desire to correctly rebed and lay down a roadsurface that will last 10 years, let alone 30.

Likely Engine in a 1962-63 Lotus 7
Boxologist replied to Feffman's topic in General Sevens Discussion
probably be a twin turbo suggestion despite someone's protestation to the contrary. i can easily see someone and their nephew rigging it so all the up and downpipes are on teh outside so the turbos look like 2 jet engines. damn. i think i just gave them the idea to out hp Bob Drye. I guess we won't see Franken7 until another national meet.:banghead: -
