  1. the killer on this is that it requires a Greant wheel. if it was compatible with my Momo steering wheel, it would be very worth while.
  2. got some top down driving for the first time in 2+ months. very cold and windy at the beach.
  3. yup, some sort of oil, PB blaster is my ilk, and then torch the offending bolt or nut for a bit and then let it cool down.
  4. i'm going over the numbers and it appears CHOICE VOIDED won. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/party.gif
  5. try GT Classics in va. i'm curious as to CC USA other plans.

  7. jeebus, how powerful was ur 7?
  8. not on throttle bodies, but the 7 started fine on saturday night. my fuel pump is constantly audible till i start letting the engine and exhaust take over noise duties! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/hurray.gif
  9. put up a close up picture of teh 1/4 turn fasteners when u get a chance. are those the caterham doors or JJ's? i'm debating what to get next, i like the look that mimic the lower half of the full doors, but don't think i need the carbon fibre ones from Fluke. PS. bring the table to 7-7-07! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/rofl.gif

  11. have the sway bars been changed? also, the exhaust tip seem to be angled slightly downwards in its initial orientation.

    Shoes

i use a pair of rebok water slippers and some thin soled leather walking shoes. i wanted Pumas, but they are a bad fit for my short and wide feet. everyone should fidn a place that sells the shoes locally. i like the look of pilotis, RacecompEngineering/GT Worx sells them online, but i think i will be back wearing a pair of asics wrestling boots again.
  13. many thanks to Gert to for putting up his Birkin and his roadside metal fabbing skills http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif I was wondering what he talking about on CCC http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif i hope the writer was a better passenger than a writer. if he acts like writes, on the east coast and i leave him in the middle of the night on the west side highway to be sodomized by the homeless. NY represent, y0! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/rofl.gif
  14. good weekend of developments with the exception of my ebay account getting hacked. spoke with Skip Cannon, we have our cabin reserved from thursday(5th) night thru monday (9th). So i am definite for road travel on thursday. just throwing this out, anyone think we could get pics infront of Monticello?
  15. i had some seat time in a Birkin a few hours before i sat in the SV i would buy. the birkin was a s3 sized car, and had a stero + speakers and other little bits that couldbe nice. the SV is plenty spacious. i'm not a big guy, but having also been in an actual s3, its nice to actually hav a little space to sort of rest ur left foot. my SV becomes an almost daily drive when the weather warms up, so reliability is a critcial issue. as much as i find pleasure in working on my cars, driving the 7 gives way more pleasure! coming to 7-7-07 will allow u to expirience all the different drivetrains and how they deliver power. that will be an immense help in deciding how much power u need and when it occurs. do deide on a v8, v6, 4 cylinder, FI(like skip) or a bike engine. personally, the duratec is becoming an excellent lightweight tuned engine. and i see caterham is now offing the 6 speed in a touring designation. that probably has an overdriven gear.
  16. if a pedigree is important, than yes, Caterham is the true lineal descendant of the Lotus 7. but since u have to drive the car, u should find one tat fits u best. coming to 7-7-07 will give the greatest exposure to all the makes.
  17. Skip, u interested in splitting a cabin at fontana if still available?
  18. i suspect that attendance will be in excess of what Al is expecting. My fear is poor weather and many of us will contemplate not coming. ABSOLUTELY NOT! i would bring one of my subarus and attack the dragon with that, an I suggest anyone who considers not coming due to inclement weather to just bring their tin top!
  19. yeah, scratch that then. i'd like to get home before Labor day http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  20. 64/81 is no problem. GT Classics is by I-64 so its all good. is there decent sized rest area near there? how long is the drive thru Shenandoah national park? I was considering driving that road on the trip back.

  22. the wheel may, but probably not the 225 tyre.
  23. i would have to say then stay with the same size all around. u'll probably get better advice on the next CCC blat.
  24. Stan, how much power are u putting down? on my 7, with a stock zx-1 zetec, i have 5 of the same size tyres. thats at 150 crank hp. i understand why more powerful setups go to staggered sizes, as traction for the drive wheels can quickly overwhelm the traction needs of the steering wheels.
