  2. answers my question.
  3. i must join the r&d team and help work on the controls.:grouphug:
  4. we get lopped in to Modified becaus eof the limited production run. i think minimum of 1000 per year is neccesary to stay is CS/CSP where the lotus 7/Super 7 is historically classed by SCCA. Tom is about how well a car is setup can matter greatly on how well these cars, while a generic tin top will matter mostly on the driver. New York region has been sorta cool letting me run cs/csp this year. with crappy tyres it was a non issue as better prepped MR2s and miatas easily have seconds on me in my first season. in 2 weeks that changes as i will be on real tyres and i will poll the csp competitors to see if they will protest me into DMod where i will run in a class of 1...
  5. i like that road....:yesnod:
  6. the LEO across the way 86s that.
  7. i guess u should take them on leisurely drive around the neighborhood:hurray:
  8. i'd love to see a se7en come out at the end and run him over. it would be just like teh opening scene of Men in Black with the insect finally getting splattered on the windshield.:hurray:
  9. definitely won't be able to make it down to philly. have a family function so i will have to autoX local and attend right after.
  10. wouldn't reading the site and showing ur coworkers better serve the cause of se7envangelism? shame on u al!
  11. a hood with large louvers would be ideal. Skip, u are pretty much on the right track that the air is still stuck in engine bay. unfortunately, the easy way to vent is to duct the air to flow underneath the car. and that cause more lift in a car that has too much. definetly get as much piping and the turbo ceramic coated ASAP. Deadbolt enterprises can do the turbo, and JetHot is biggy on pipes if u need leads. if u vent on the sides like i suggested, u should create some sort of ducting or funneling to get the air from right behind the turbo/upipe.
  12. on some of the european sites i see small scoops that are normally used to allow air into the rear of the bonnet near intake on fuel injected cars. if u reverse the direction, it should work as a vent. were the turbo, UP, DP and otehr parts ceramic coated? if not, wrap them. I'd love to have a nose cone that has the top vent that the CSR does to flow hot air out from the radiator. the CSR cone does NOT fit the SV.
  13. keep going to the autoX and trying on everyone's helmet. i'm using an M2005, but for most track events, u will need a SA rated helmet. not sure what speed shops there are near Bing, but if u head towards the Glen u should a better selection. If u make it out to Lime Rock for labor day weekend, u may find other shops there as well.
  14. i got to play with a friends iPhone tuesday night:cool: he hates it. cool technology, and an awesome screen, but does not have enough productivity functions to work as a halfway decent PDA replacement. another friends Sidkick 3 and treo 700 are far superior in that regard. what i found most disturbing was the lack of back up ability, removable media, and cut and paste ability when web surfing.
  15. damn thats nice Loren. I guess eventually i'll be one of the few who will tow a trailer with their 7.
  16. the VIN # is worth it. Even if the S2 is not restorable. Birkin/Deman build time w/ historic or collector plates.
  17. there was a loose, or rather wobbly brass fitting near the back of the tranny right before the prop shaft, and a female plug nearby that i had not notice previously. also a bunch sealed/tied wires that are probably responsible for some CEL codes for damn AT ECU:banghead: I haven't run an electrical tester on the wires from the ecu to the speedometer with the car in motion either. :nonod:
  18. car should be back in tip top order by then, so count me in tenatively.
  19. my speedometer failed on saturday. I checked out the unit, the wiring and it all seems intact. the odometer portion still shows digits, but is no longer being increased. for the next 10 miles after the speedometer failed, it would occasionaly jump to 25-30mph and fall to zero. another 2/10 of a mile were added to the odometer in such a fashion. can anyone whose speedometer also failed tell me what the symptoms, causes, and fixes were to their setups.
  20. and u should be saving the windscreen and mirror if u really get going because i'd be swapping those at every event.
  21. r400 and 500 got the staggered rim iirc. 6" wide, 205width up front and 8" 235+ in the back to get traction. seriously, hold off till ur sure u want to get competitive in motorsports. when u finally drive ORange in anger, then make the determination.
  22. damn it, 8/19 is a points event locally. if it gets cancelled i may be able to come down. not that i would enjoy running in a section thats knows to put me in D Mod, but at least there will be other people in DM. i was going to try to coincide the Mt washington trip on the weekend of wicked big meet 08. i would have a date set until late next winter.
