  1. http://www.dougquick.com/nbc_SNL_radner.jpg NEVERMIND
  2. if the car has the weather equipment package, u would be ok. it can get stuffy and maybe some exahaust drone when enclosed, but it does work. I drive in the rain, and if the defrosted is working u'll be fine. otherwise, have a towel for the window. if not equipped, at least a half hood. http://texasmotorworks7.com/cabitop.html is a recent find i expect i will be getting a jill judd one with the EZ in stuff. Al used his hood on the way to NC with the half doors in the rain. he can chime in with that setup's efficiency. if the '88 comes with the doors u would be set.
  3. Just wanted to submit a few more for when Mazda gets the links page back up http://www.jameswhiting.com/ http://texasmotorworks7.com/ http://www.softbitsforsevens.co.uk
  4. drove mine 300 miles home, well directly to work, when i picked it up. seats should be fixed. many maps or US atlas. minor tool set. a caveat w/ caterhams is that they are typically mixed metric and imperial sets of fasteners and such. change of clothes. maybe shorts for driving and a jacket or pullover for ur torso. helmet if possible. if u have one of the soft collapsible coolers, bring that so u can stock up of food during the trip back. camera! southwest2005, Pacfic Northwest 2007... thankfully i will be going to the dragon. most of us want to do 1000 miles in a se7en. its fun!:hurray:  :seeya: :willy:
  5. keep it up:crazy: i'll nominate u for secretary I walk around with a sign saying ,"Vote for the Gert without the skirt" at 7-7-07.:grouphug: t thought that one up myself
  6. don't worry about modding a se7en performancewise for the first year or so beyond tyres, braking, and tuning. maybe cosmetics. i have had mine for about a year now, and learning the limits of it has been a joyful expenditure of time. its is a zx1 zetec (stock)with similar power to what u expect (147 crank hp). right now its more than u can handle. just get out there and blat and don't worry about what u need to add top the car. u just need to keep changing tyres, fluids, and filters and u will still be happy. I see mid 20s on milage. maybe 27 sometimes. personally, if u haven't paid for the engine yet, investigate if a duratec can be fit into ur car. a stock unit performs 15-20% better than a base zetec. use the lightened flywheel. the head shaving should be done with hair and the underdriven pulley could be skipped and better served by the flywheel. theres a good thread on CCC about underdriven or lightened pullies. there really is no way to CAI a 7 except maybe to snorkel it i will end somehow getting something to reverse my intake path from aft of the engine to just above and behind the radiator. if u run carbs, u pull the coldest air possible if using trumpets to get outside the car.
  7. new bits.
  8. we all attribute the time to Mothers Day. In fact is was officially titled ,"Mama told me to do it". If my fastest (4th) run was clean, then i was tenths of the SM FTD seen above(on RT 615s). so, first autoX, not really walking the course, on old AS tyres, only using partial power, and poor technique i think the se7en design is an autoX lion! i wonder if with minor improvements to technique and the re01r tyres (already considering the 15" r300 wheel as an autoX/ summer set), i can a 10% improvment in times, 5-6 seconds on such a course. which is several seconds faster than the open FTD. thats pretty damn amazing. and i have learned it to damn addictive:_deadhorse: edit: nassau colessium, uniondale, NY. only 2 others w/ NYR SCCA scheduled for this year. NY BMWCCA has a bunch on saturdays there. If it wasn't for the NNJ SCCA autoX at the Meadowlands being mobbed, i'd consider going there.
  9. http://thinfourth.smugmug.com/photos/74574707-M.jpg don't know if u've seen this from one of the UK owners.
  10. Vote Al fo' Prez! 2 mo' years 2 mo' years!
  11. maybe use some model paint on the inside of the lens to get the full red color?
  12. 5 runs, and everything was packed up by 3:15. 1st run was 2 360s and an off course. i absolutely need real tyres. the zv1s just don't stick. revving beyond 5000 broke the wheels loose on the dirty asphalt. someone said i had a clean run of 52.xx. I am impressed if thats true. best times were 49 and 50 second runs. the fat boy will handle like a champ when new wheels and tyres arrive next month hopefully. http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9484_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9673_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9676_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9677_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9851_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9852_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9853_Fixed.jpg http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9854_Fixed.jpg after my final run, i went shotgun in my friend's swapped impreza. he then ran a 52.0x for his FTD and won his class. http://www.steguisfoto.com/albums/Motorsports/NYR-Autox-5-13-2007/IMG_9904_Fixed.jpg

  21. The 9th/10TH is a bad weekend for me as well. Local Subaru BBQ to coordinate caravans to the Annual northeast subaru meet the following weekend. i'm free may 20 or 27th, june 3rd or 24th.
  22. he did a video on the atom. if u watch that u can see a se7en in the garage as well. 'm waiting to what that was. even before the tonight show, he was a gearhead, so i hold very little jealousy.
  23. thats a shame on the house arrest:cry: i just recieved a route from Bear mtn(NY) to the hawks nest (NJ) 1 1/2 -2 hr drive. also have a good idea on roads just oustide of scranton that would bring us down to Pocono racetrack.
  24. weather was much cooler this time. I've had luck with the weather so far! Hope the weddng was fun.:hurray:  I believe i have a few more pics to upload hopefully Jeff (yellow Elise) will do this again next season and it will be tweaked a bit. The drive was a bit slowdue to the size of the caravan on the backroads. also we went to the winery right off the bat, and many had made the trip from NJ. great turn out from the Espirit owners. Everyone behaved well, no asshattery whatsoever. I definitely want to setup the NEPa blat. drive for an hour or so, have a nice meal drive some more.
