  1. @spindrI went to the track on Friday and asked both the operations manager and the CEO about the one car two driver possibility. Unfortunately they both suggested that if the two of you wanted to drive you could alternate between the seven’s run group and the green/ white run group depending on skill level. But both of you would have to register. Sorry. I took a good run at it and tried to play a few different tact’s but I can up short. Hopefully, you can still make it Jeremy. Tom
  2. Planning eh, you need to learn how to time it to miss mid September. 😂
  3. Welcome back Justin. Croc just told me Kevin just signed up as well. It’s looking like we will have 13-15 cars at this point assuming Steve and Roman can make it. Still room for more as 15 cars on a 2.2 mile track is not crowded at all. Again our run group will be Sevens only which is unique at most track events. Vlad And Carl hopefully we will see you next year. Tom.
  4. Jeremy, Hans are NOT required. 5 or 6 point in date harnesses ARE required and checked at Tech. As for two drivers, by policy each driver would need to register. But if you have a street car as well as the Seven then the other driver could run in either the green or white group, so that you each get the five full sessions each day. I am planning on going to the track this Friday. I will ask the operations manager if they will allow one registration for the two of you as you will just get the five runs total sharing the car. No promises as it’s a long shot. But I will give it a shot. I’ll post the answer once I get one. Tom
  5. That’s good news Carl. Take good care of her. Roman, it would be good to see you back on track again. Hopefully it will happen. Tom
  6. I never use the clutch other than to get it rolling in first. With the paddle shifters it’s so smooth even flat to the floor on the throttle. Same with downshifts. Just lift and it’s really smooth. I sent the gearbox to Sadev when I replaced the clutch a year or so ago. When I asked what gear oil they recommended they said. “ whatever you were using as there was almost no wear.
  7. I have the Caterham 6 speed on my yellow car and the Sadev with paddle shifter in the Orange one. With the dual plate clutch I don’t think there is anyway I could drive it on the street. It just likes to go fast. Shifting at mild or low throttle is brutal. But flat out with foot to the floor it’s like butter. The six speed is good on the street and track. You just have to heel/toe on the downshifts. The Sadev is just a slight lift and you can go down several gears effortlessly.
  8. Carl, hopefully your wife will be good as new after the surgery. Take good care of her. Twenty two years ago my kit arrived and I had to go rent a truck to pick the boxes up at customs. Apparently a box of stuff I ordered from Pegasus was delivered to the fro t door and my wife stepped on it when she went out the door breaking her ankle. I couldn’t be there to take her to the hospital. I am still in the doghouse. 😜 Steve, we will hopefully see you then. It wouldn’t be the same without you. 🤞. Tom
  9. Jay, I hope you have a mild case and will bounce back quickly. I will count you as a definite. 👍 By my count you are number 10. So hopefully we don’t lose any one and maybe pick up a few more. Maybe some of the new owners on the east coast will be up for a road trip. Vlad, good luck with the new addition. Make sure to let us know when the big day happens. It just may qualify Page for an award. 😜
  10. It’s about 8 weeks until our Sevens at NJMP event. Hopefully those who plan on coming are ready or at least have all the parts needed to get ready. I’m waiting for a radiator for the Orange car and need to install a new ignition switch on the Yellow car. I know of one other long time participant that might need to find and install a Duratec 2.0l if anyone has a spare on hand. Original interest level was pretty sparse when we first posted. This might be the swan song if the interest is not there as NJMP will not be as kind to give us our own sevens run group for less than 10 cars. Looking forward to seeing you, hopefully we will see CATKONG. 🤞🤪
  11. The Sevens event at NJMP just got a whole lot safer and there is no longer and risk of stone damage. You in a hairdressers car is appropriate 🤣. So long Mike. I was looking forward to a spirited debate with you but I knew you’d turn tail and run this year.
  12. You will be missed Jeff. Good luck with the sale, hopefully it will bring the high price it deserves. Tom
  13. Great news John! I’m going to have an old fashioned to help you celebrate 🥃 Tom
  14. @Vovchandr Croc tells me that the pics he sent of my front suspension/ carbon are what you needed. Yesterday on track, the front wingstay that my mechanic warned me of, did fail. Luckily I saw it start to wobble on the front strait and backed off and crawled the whole lap babying it back to pit lane and at least didn’t lose the carbon wing. I just sent Westerman a request for new wingstays. I assume you could use the ones you got from him. Correct? Tom
  15. Wow! Great driving. So when are you going to set up a Caterham a Barber track day? 😜. Tom
  16. I’ll have Orange there. Still on old tires but I did find a new supply and ordered two sets as I think Michelin is discontinuing their 13 inch slicks. 😡
  17. Box, how the hell are you? About time you finally make one of these. You were there in Gettysburg with us way back then. Make it happen. You still have the 7?
  18. I built my yellow car in 2000. I bought the orange car around 2015. Both cars are fun to drive, one is easy to drive thee other is a beast. Strangely enough I was 45 when I bought Yellow. 😜
  19. I loved Barber. Would tow there again in a heartbeat if someone would set up a Sevens day there.
  20. Mike, I was towing yellow in my trailer with my cousin John’s Ram pick up. John was supposed to co drive. But as it turned out he had macro degeneration and is was an overcast sometimes rainy day and I found out that he really couldn’t see well enough to actually drive. That was when we made him give up driving. He could see somewhat but he described it like putting your arm out with Your fist closed in front of you. He could see the edges but not directly in front of him. That’s why I drove the whole way.
  21. I made the trip to Barber for Log for my first trackday and drove it in 17 hours straight doing the whole drive myself. Will admit that my legs were like rubber when I got there. But it wasn’t a bad drive. I left at 2 in the morning and got there at 7:30 pm. Fresh as a daisy the next day. Suck it up and come on up. It’s worth it. 😜 Tom.
  22. Vlad, when I had the car in the shop for its preseason tech the mechanic pointed out that the left stay had a little play in it versus the right one. He suspected that the inner tube may be cracked. I had the car on track last week and kept an eye on it down the straights and didn’t notice any flapping or movement. But I’m thinking that preventative replacement is the way to go. I don’t have any issues with the current tires as to clearance. But if I can’t get the same tires and have to go to another brand I’m concerned That the diameter won’t be the same and could cause an issue. My car is currently in the trailer and at the storage facility so I will have to take a ride to get your pictures. Can it wait until next Saturday? I’m planning on going to the track on Sunday and Monday next week.
  23. Vlad, I need to order a new set of wingstays from Westerman, as one of mine is a bit wobbly. I’m also having trouble finding the Michelin slicks I use and may have to find a substitute which may require some adjustment to the wingstays to provide clearance. Based on your experience is it possible to adjust them to get tire clearance? Tom
  24. Excellent John. Looking forward to running with you this year. We will have to see if Croc’s new car will make an appearance
  25. Steve, start polishing now so that if the Mallock does let’s you down you won’t be ashamed bringing a dull car. Tom
