Croc can correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is 12th year we have had this event. We started with five or six cars and grew to at one point to twenty four I think. I was told we will be given our own Se7ens only run group if we have at least ten cars participating so I’m pretty hopeful we can get to at least that number. And they did not limit us this year as they did the last two years. We are looking forward to seeing the regular attendees and hopefully a lot more first timers. This is a friendly event. It’s not a race, it’s an HPDE. If you have never been on track before it’s the ideal chance as there is a dedicated Green group with classroom and in car instruction available, which gives you the opportunity to learn the track and your car’s capabilities without the stress of passing. And if your progress warrants, you may be allowed to join in on the Sevens only run group. So start getting your car ready, tires ordered or asking for permission from your better half if necessary. Croc and I look forward to seeing you all . Tom

Hi, Jeff. It’s simple. Your car needs to be driven like it was meant to. Bring it back up to NJMP and get it back on track where it belongs. I’ll drive at half throttle so your R500 can keep up.. either that or the smoke has come out of your wiring. And you need to replace it. Electrical issues suck. Hope you are doing well otherwise. We miss you. Tom

Hi Seb. I’ve used the sunoco gt 100 in my yellow car. 12.4:1 CR and VP race fuel MS 109 in my orange car. 13:1 CR. Then again I don’t bear the crap out of my cars like you and Simon do. Tom.

Track Day Prep - Side Impact Protection/etc
yellowss7 replied to 11Budlite's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Mike, George Alderman’s nephew, who I Believe George said built Cages for Nascar, built it. He started with my Caterham FIA tall roll bar and added the D hoops, front and side impact bars. -
Before you install the knee trim panels, if your car didn’t come with them, you should consider getting the fixed nut windscreen brackets. That way if you decide to take the screen off and put a brooklands screen or aero screen in you won’t have to drill out the rivets to get to the nuts. Nice build. BTW. Tom

Well the event has wrapped up and most have packed up and headed back home. The hardcore award goes to Justin @DatsunRBZAnd Paul @wemtd who hung in there and were the last two on track as the day ended. thanks to all who made the effort to drive significant distances to be part of this fun event and persevere to overcome some mechanical issues just before the event. Hopefully some video and more pictures will be posted once everyone gets some rest. And a special thanks to the spouses who came and cheered us on. And to the ones that didn’t but still allowed us to come out and play. Croc is still on the road but I assume he will chime in once he gets home and opens a good bottle of wine.

The party has started. Some early afternoon arrivals to Croc’ garage. We headed to dinner and a few more drivers and significant others rolled in. Weather is just about perfect. We had a nice dinner outside at the clubhouse. Breakfast is at 7am. And we still have a few more drivers who will show up then. Fingers crossed that all cars are ready to go when the track goes live at 9am. -

John, I can’t believe that Croc hasn’t stepped up to send the corporate jet out to pick you up. Did you piss him off somehow? -

Safe travels. Mike. Make sure to put the lock on your hitch coupler. -
Vlad, I’m glad you got it running. Obviously air is being sucked in from somewhere to push the fluid out. Have you run it with the cap on? Does the pressure still build up and puke? You mentioned a heater. Have you checked that?

Vlad, there is a $25 late fee if you register within 48 hours of the event. But that is better than losing your full fee as there are no cancellation refunds within that period as well. They did impose a low cap on us, but I don’t think we hit it as Croc and I have not heard any pushback. Tech is usually right after breakfast so technically you need to be checked in/ registered to get a tech sticker. -

Paul, right now it is mask optional. Breakfast is in the clubhouse or can be taken out. Same with lunch. I’m trying to get us outside for dinner on Saturday. Tom -

Vlad, you can show up on Sunday morning and register. Croc and I were talking today and thought that if you were still struggling, and wanted to come down anyway as you have a room, that TJ and Ian who are mechanics at the track, might be able to help sort you out as they have experience with Caterhams, Having worked on mine, Crocs and Jeff’s. Or you can register on Monday morning if your car wasn’t running on Saturday. if you came down on Saturday you might get lucky and have them look at it then if they have time. -

Well, it’s almost here. I’m assuming that bball and kitcat are packing up and getting ready to get on the road soon, to arrive on Saturday afternoon. Others will opt to get there early Sunday morning. For those of you coming in on Saturday, when you get to the gate tell them you are meeting Mike Johnson at exotic car garage #367. Or that you are heading to the Finish Line Pub. There is a Riders Club ( motorcycle) event on Thunderbolt on Saturday and we can’t drop trailers or cars until they finish around 6:30-7:00pm. Croc and I will be at his garage late morning. So we will hangout there until we can get on TBolt before we go to dinner at the Pub on Saturday evening. Dinner is casual, and we will try to get tables outside by the pool. -

WooHoo!!! Great news! Can't wait to see this new king of the Caterhams on track. Tom -
We are pulling for you Vlad. You deserve a bit of good luck. Fingers crossed. I’m buying your first round on Saturday night too. Looking forward to seeing you on track. Tom

Steve, they sell helmets at the track and had a decent selection last time I checked. I don’t know if they still rent them as they did before COVID. We can check. Croc has power in his garage so you can plug in and polish all night. you are shaming me into at least getting out the rubber removing spray to clean up my car. Hope to see you. I’ll buy your first beer on Saturday. Tom. -

John I’m sorry to hear that. I too was looking forward to dragging down the straights with you. But on a positive note, I get one more year of horsepower bragging rights until you and Croc duke it out fro the crown next year. Maybe you can just swap it out with one of your formula Atlantic motors? Tom.
