I have an S3 and an SV and I’m about 90 minutes north of Camden Yards assuming no traffic issues. I’m about the same size as you and fit in both. Size 11 shoe. You are welcome to try them on for size.

With clams it is too tight to use a screw driver. A dime or penny works well as does a Dzus tool. With cycles on an SV screwdriver works fine

From one TG to another. Great looking car. Looks track ready. Hope to see him at NJMP next year if it happens. Tom

2020 Annual Sevens Event with NJMP Drivers Club – October 17/18

while that is true, I have found that I don’t have the need or balls to go that high. When it was dynoed a couple of years ago they took it up pretty high. It was still pulling when they backed off at around 8600. it’s got plenty of torque and pulls like the truck engine it is. I’m enjoying it being the top dog and I will obviously be handing over that crown to Croc when his arrives at the track next spring. I’m sure Bruce will come back to NJMP next year to deliver it :driving: we need a new driving emoji for Croc and I that uses paddle shifters :smilielol5: Tom. -
Just finished up dinner with a few of us who will head out in the morning. After being holed up for quite a few months It was great to get out and actually visit with everyone at the track. Although this was a slightly smaller group than some of our other events the quality of the conversation and the number of smiles made up for the size. We also had a good turnout of wives and fiancées and a couple of kids too. Thank you all for coming out. I think we all enjoyed the cooler weather after last July’s scorcher, even though the outdoor dinners were a bit chilly. Thanks to all that made the effort to come out and play. We missed a few of our past regulars due to the schedule change and we hope that we will see you next year if we can get approval. We hope your travel home is safe and uneventful. Thanks to Mike for dinner tonight too:cheers::cheers:

Going coast to coast without a clue

99% sure that switch is the only one to operate the brake lights. On mine it was just a matter of tightening the locknut up to make sure it made contact with the plunger when the brakes were depressed. Good luck althought that switch does look pretty groaty. May be worth cleaning up a bit. Just be careful if you try to open it up. That spring will try to escape. And it’s really good at getting lost. 😂 -

We will miss you John. You may want to make a call to the builder and tell him to find another 50-60 more HP. If you want to keep up with Croc’s new beast next year. :seeya: -

I don't know about NJ specifically, but here in Pa. the local CVS does drive up tests. I don't know how fast of a turnaround they give for results, but you could call and ask. -

One Week to go :driving: Get any last minute fixes done. Check your tire pressures and torque your lug nuts. Long range forecast for what it's worth is for the low 60s during the day and mid to high 40's at night. It will be chilly for the first session so dress appropriately. Croc told me no one signed up for Karting this year which is a shame, since a lot of the regular lightweights, can't make it this year and us heavyweights would have had a fighting chance. But it does save me from a lot of bruising since Croc usually broadsides me at least once a session. :smash: Safe travels everyone. See you next week. Tom -
Congrats Angelo, Tell us more. What specs. I have both, stainless and carbon on my cars. just depends on if you want to match your other trim items i guess. Doesn't make the car go any faster. Tom

2020 Annual Sevens Event with NJMP Drivers Club – October 17/18

Well, we are about 2 weeks out from our upcoming event at NJMP. So hopefully everyone is bunkered down and staying safe for the next two weeks getting their cars ready. :smash: Croc has started cleaning up his garage and hiding the good wine in anticipation. Long range weather outlook seems that we won't be sweating like we did last July, so bring a jacket or sweatshirt as we will be eating outdoors and it can get a bit chilly at night. Hopefully you all fit in your cars after being shut in for several months, I will be bringing my Orange SV and leaving my Yellow S3 home as I don't think I will fit in it right now. :leaving: Looking forward to seeing you all. Feel free to let Croc or I know if you have any question, especially the first timers. This event isn't a race, it's a Relaxed, Fun, laugh filled opportunity to spend time on and off track with other 7 nuts. Tom -
Many years ago I was an aggressive mogul skier, and would fog my glasses and goggles which really became dangerous. I made the switch to contact lenses and now have multifocal lenses which allow for both distance and reading. Bite the bullet and get contacts. Tom

2020 Annual Sevens Event with NJMP Drivers Club – October 17/18

Sorry to hear that Roman. I was at the track on Friday and it was in good shape. NJMP does have the distancing procedures pretty well set up and the weather on Friday was spectacular. Low sixites in the afternoon, 10mph breeze. So cool that my oil temp didn't come up to normal temps until i did about 8 laps. Looking at the registration to date, it looks like we still have room for a couple more cars on track, so if you ever wanted to see/run with a bunch of other 7s, whether you've ever been on track or not this is an excellent opportunity. Croc has some special awards this year and since Kitcat can't make it, you all have a much better chance to win one. Looking forward to seeing you all! Tom -

Croc. That pic is not going to be very helpful in encouraging participation in the 7s event. :puke: -
Sander I think your issue is that you are getting inference from the 996 forum

If the caterham isn't ready in time John, Bring the CanAM or the Indy car. Tom -
Try flipping the Hazard Switch off and on several times. I seem to recall this being a common problem and the UK lotus 7 guys on blatchat found this to be a solution. Worked for me once when mine failed like yours. Good luck. Tom

Croc is the true hero. I was convinced it wasn’t going to happen, but Croc pulled it off. I’m sure he will release the family of the management unharmed after the event. -
I have a piece of firm foam that I used to get me lower for more leg clearance from the steering wheel. Worked really well in dropping me down lower in the car. I used it until I got around to making a foam bead seat to replace it. It’s still in my trailer. You are welcome to use it. It will definitely get you a lot lower if needed. Tom.

Import and Performance Nationals--Carlisle, PA 14-17 Aug 2020
yellowss7 replied to Taber10's topic in National Events
Tabor. If you want to hang with other 7s then you really need to skip Carlisle and come to NJMP for our 7s event. You don’t have to track your car and Croc and I can give your wife a ride on track as I seem to remember that she was a bit more adventurous than you when we met at Barber:seeya: Tom -
Are YOU talking to me?
-
Only if you want to hang out with a bunch of fun crazy 7 owners. :driving: You’d have to try really hard not to laugh a lot and have a good time. KitKat alone is worth the price of admission. They are currently not allowing passengers due to the COVID. But we are hoping that might change. I think it would be unlikely to be transmitted in an open car at speed wearing a full helmet. But I’m not a doctor. But if they change the policy. Croc, JohnB, Simon and I are instructors and can take passengers. Oh. And you should have a thick skin and good sense of humor as there is usually a fair amount of good natured ball busting. :smilielol5: Hopefully you will join us and have some fun. Tom I’ll also add that if you’ve never been on track before the do have a novice group that is led by a pace car and is a great way to learn your car and the track in a progressive way.
