Having allowed later produced Caterham vehicles (like yours) to participate last year, we will see what this year brings.

NJ does not allow for 3rd party companies to do private party registrations, especially when it comes to kit cars such as your Caterham. I did it two dozen or so times while still living in NJ. It's not rocket science in NJ, contact the specialty titles division by stopping at their offices at 225 E State St,Trenton, calling them at 609-292-6500 x5064 or 609-292-4571 and ask for the "kit car" packet. Follow the rules to the letter. Having dealt with major overseas related companies either importing or exporting their goods for close to or over 30 years, I can tell you they pad their pricing for such an occurrence (some have confidentially told me in the past up to 40% in some cases). Some will eat some of the losses, others will pass only part of it to you the consumer, others will keep their quiet profit and pass along to the consumer so as to not affect their bloated bottom line(s). I do not recommend Uship, I'm still getting calls, emails, and texts asking if I'm ready to ship a car I have not owned for 14 years. As far as one way rentals, yet, Uhaul will rent you just a trailer if you have a vehicle in which they deem safe to tow it with. Ford Explorers, regardless of year are prohibited, anything weighing less then the trailer and vehicle you plan to town on it are also prohibited. Class III hitch required, along with wiring for their running, turn, and brake lights. Me personally, I'd rent one of the smaller box trucks to tow their trailer, spend a few extra dollars on their insurance for the same, and be done with it. I have towed their trailers one way with two (2000 & 2023) Expeditions, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee (2001) without an issue.
