  1. You would not be saying that if you have dealt with the manager at Asbury Park who seems to rewrite the rule book as it suits him on that particular day :banghead: At least Morristown plays by the rules as written by Trenton. 2 identical cars through Morristown, no problem. Next car rejected through Asbury Park. All 3 were built identical (100% identical) for a movie filmed in Newark and Staten Island (not yet released) Bill S.
  2. Thankfully you are headed in the right direction (Canada does not allow the importation of finished or unfinished kit cars unless they are documented as being 15+ years old (not just titled as such). Easiest way is to call the special titles division (State Street, Trenton) and ask for their "kit car packet", within you will find all of the items that you need to address in order to get the car to pass the "enhanced inspection" (currently being done in Asbury Park only as the Morristown specialty station got 12 feet of water during Hurricane Irene last year and has not been opened since). Since you are importing a "kit car", I suggest you make plans to meet the tri-state Cobra group at the Chester Hills Diner, RT206N in Chester, NJ at 9am Sunday February 12th (our next monthly breakfast), you'll find some of us quite helpful in regards to dealing with the NJ DMV Bill S. PS: My brother lives in Warren, NJ
  3. I'm the SAAC AdMaster over on saacforum.com if you want send me all the details and I'll post it up for the seller. I also suggest clubcobra.com as well as cobracountry Bill S.
  4. What chassis number is his Kirkham? Bill S.
  5. Living just 4 miles (as the crow flies) from the proposed LBM track, I can see some elevation changes, but nothing like WGI or LRP, at least not unless they are planning to move around an awful lot of acreage. However, it will be far more than NJMP. Bill S.
  6. Alpine has been an on going project for over 10 years, investor issues caused it to lay dormant, local (town) issues where also an issue. Will be interesting to see if they actually break ground this time (this is the third email in 5 years I've received). The other interesting "soon to be built track" is Libertybell Motorsport Park, http://libertybellmp.com/ While their web site is not as slick as Alpine, they have all approvals and financing in place and are truly set to break ground this spring. Bill S.
  7. You need to convert the files from BMP format to Jpg format. I also suggest making the pictures larger, as right now they are 1.5"X1.5" Bill S.
  8. I already do that with the Cobra crowd in both northern NJ (we meet at the Chester Diner), and here in SE PA (we meet at Michaels Diner in Amity) two weekends out of the month.....Even SPF "7" owners are welcome at both (actually all specialty cars are welcome) :seeya: Bill S. PS: Less ego looking at cars in the parking lot, more fun with an actual country drive planned after every breakfast
  9. Might have been a scam auction (same car, different user name, usually at a price 1/2 of the original listing) that pops up from time to time. Ebay is getting better at finding and removing them when notified. Bill S.
  10. Again they would have a greater turn out if it was held on a Sunday. Some of us who own our businesses are open on Saturdays.
  11. Not according to Ebays seller history feature post a link to it
  12. If you know how the system works in NJ, it's not a hard thing to get the cars through the enhanced inspection, titled, and on the road. I have been helping people do it with Cobra replicas for 20 years. You just have to learn to work with the system. Trust me when I say this, if you are going to help me spend my money, I most certainly will help you spend more of yours in return
  13. Hey Jim, I figured you would stumble across this thread eventually and let everyone know I'm either harmless  or completely nuts :smilielol5:. Bill S. PS: I know longer have the car pictured above, it sold when I moved from one state to another back in 07.
  14. Last time he waited 20 days till he relisted it again. :toetap05:
  15. Disclaimer: Pardon me while I ramble,I've been up for almost 20 hours as of right now: I've lurked here for many years, always been a fan of the "7" and it's revisions. I'm known more for my Mustangs (go figure), Shelbys, and cobra replicas. But truth be known, while it's mostly Ford powered, I'm into anything where the top goes down....MGB's, TR6's, X19's (yeah, I admit to owning two a long time ago), Camaros, corvettes, etc......So far though I've only owned one "7", an early Britsh RHD version (not an original, but an early kit) as attached below that I purchased several years ago (IE: 2003) and held onto for a few months. These days I'm just starting to do some research on a newer replacement, be it Birken or Caterman, I have not decided..... I've got a lot to learn and from the looks of it, you guys are going to be here to teach me. Have a great weekend. Bill S.
  16. If they did it on a Sunday instead of a Saturday (my shop is open 9-12), I'd be there. Bill S.
  17. Correct Over and over and over again. There are signs to watch for on Ebay, some are glaring in this sellers case as he hopes to sucker someone into bidding at the last minute without thinking. Bill S.
  18. Car is being shilled again :ack: Bill S. PS: Don't let the low post count fool you, I've lurked here for a LLLLllllllooooooonnnnnngggggggggg time
  19. Passport, Intercity, Classic Auto all want $1,700-$1,900 to PA at the moment. Add in my sales tax and I may be on the wrong side of the equation. Again, this is not my first turn on the antique/specialty automobile "merry go round".....Mostly with Cobra replicas (mustang's, shelby's, TR6's,MGB's, just about anything with a top that goes down :hurray:), but with a few 7's sprinkled in the mix. Just mulling it over before I contact the dealer. Bill S.
  20. Thanks for the link, I'm on the hunt (having owned two other in the past), just not sure if the west/east logistics are worth it at the moment. Bill S.
  21. Did you buy it off the ebay ad and now have to resell, does the dealer still have it, or did you not go through with the purchase due to Trans Canada issues ? Bill S.
  22. http://www.robinhoodsportscars.co.uk/ A newbie to the site, but not a newbie to the cars a quick google search found the above link  Bill S.
