  1. While still living in NJ, I went to look at a Pantera and Contemporary Cobra replica he had on Ebay at the time. Actually bought an old Jeep Wrangler with a plow many years ago from him. He is right on the border of Bridgewater and Warren, NJ and appears to make a decent living by reselling. Bill
  2. Skip Cannon and I can tell you from vast experience with Miatas that the 1.6L engine is a rock solid item that can go for 100's of thousands of miles (my old 91 race car had 380,000 miles of hard use, with just normal, by the book maintenance for the drivetrain) without an issue. Plenty of power adders and tweaks available as well. Bill S.
  3. Lack of spare indoor garage space while we finish our home remodel is the deciding factor this year. :banghead:
  4. Same one I posted off the FFcars site
  5. No involvement in this one, but a $15,000 Westfield was just posted on the FFcars forum http://www.ffcars.com/forums/34-other-vehicles-sale-wanted/556689-1990-westfield-se-lotus-7-15000-a.html#post5282617
  6. Metal Ring, but I think you knew that from the start :leaving:
  7. I'm wondering the story on the non functional, 69 Mach I hood scoop, seems a waste of space to me. Gauge set up makes me wonder if this was going to be a rally type car with an actual passenger/navigator.
  8. Was alcohol involved?
  9. Great post, glad to see you are back in the saddle (so to speak). Did they allow you a moment of silence at the site of your Stalkers demise, maybe a memorial to be built using an old Desoto hubcap . Bill S. PS: Look on BAT this morning, there is a really nice, well built, street/track prepped Laguna Blue miata ending today.
  10. This was one of the first cars in the country, so I think yours is safe Of course if yours is also black and silver, and they were not built sequentially:leaving::jester:
  11. Tom, Long ago, when Dennis O. and I were reviewing the car at I believe the 3rd or 4th annual Double Venom Spring Fling in Ohio, he mentioned the heated windscreen as being standard equipment. Boy did we flog that black demo around the parking lot all weekend . Bill S.
  12. It's nice, but not as nice as the 427SC inspired roadster
  13. Think he still has a ways to go pricing wise, don't you?
  14. Sure, we always like to see a well documented build.
  15. Is the car also licensed for the street in Alabama, or does it just have an Alabama (Titles Unlimited sourced) title, with the UK registration still in play? Also, how does the title read?
  16. Croc, I sent him a note when he first listed it, never got a response, and clearly he has not edited his/her ad.
  17. :rofl::auto::deadhorse:
  18. It's got to be the same car, as how many owners placed those tacky engine size and type stickers on the left rear of the car (can barely see them to the left and under the spare tire).
  19. Where else can you triple your money is such a short time.
  20. All aluminum, custom built, 4.6L DOHC motor, Bob and Peter at ERA stated that they will never do another one as there were too many engineering changes that were needed to get the motor to fit in the 289FIA style frame. Even though I've had 2 others since this one, I do have sellers remorse, as it was truly a one of a kind, fully loaded Cobra replica. Only other I've ever felt like this was another ERA (#188), BRG with tan/black interior and a 427 Tunnelport motor. The car had just enough patina to make driving it a pleasure.
  21. Craig, As someone who has brokered 50+ (I've personally owned 29) Cobra replicas, let me caution you and your client that not all Cobra replicas are the same. I've owned FFR's, SPF's, Unique, Contemporary, and ERA's, been around them (real and replica alike) since the late 70's. If you and your friend are not certain what you are looking at, seek a third party for the advice that will be needed. Enough said. Bill S. PS: The attached picture was my last 289FIA (an ERA).
  22. Which shipper did you go with, as I've never had a conversation like that with any I've used. Bill S.
  23. http://www.intercitylines.com/ http://www.reliablecarriers.com/ http://www.horselesscarriage.com/ I have a friend in Port Townsend, WA who swears by these guys for shipping his Porsche GT3 car to California and back on a regular basis http://www.interbaytransport.com/
  24. I think the problem you are going to have is that none of the larger companies go to Portland on a regular basis. At least when I was getting a car out of Washington state that is what I was told.
