Well I think I am going to sell my 7 Replica
mrmustang replied to MHKflyer52's topic in Cars For Sale
Martin, You really need to write up a detailed description of the car, as just bumping this every few weeks/months is doing your car a dis-service. Bill S. -
Nice, now you have a tow vehicle for the "7" :smilielol5:

Things I learned about driving a 7
mrmustang replied to seafarer's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Have you ever watched the movie "Gumball Rally", imagine if you will the early morning scene where the race starts in Manhattan and winds it's way through the mid town. Now imagine if you will a certain Cobra replica owner reliving the scene of the "Bannon" team going through Times Square at 5/6am on a Sunday morning just as the sun rises.......I'm certain a 7 would elicit the same amount of post 9/11 attention that I did 10+ years ago:smilielol5: Bill S. jump ahead to 1:30 and watch the rest, keeping in mind this was filmed on site, and at actual speed -
Rick, Douglassville here :flag: Bill S.

Dutton was a replica builder who built Lotus 7 replicas in the early 70's. Sorry, not familiar enough with them to help you on value. Bill S.

I'll confirm Ralph is one of the most down to earth people you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting in person. I remember when he first built his car and was at one of the first FFR open houses.......... Bill S.

Excellent news, we expect to see pictures of your excursions (with or without your wife ). Enjoy the ride(s). Bill S.

Nope, SB100 it is, and just as an FYI, the SB100 is fairly easy to accomplish these days with numbers still available as of last week. Bill S.

You need to move to Florida, you could have walked in with a bill of sale written on a napkin, and your insurance card on your smart phone and walked out with tags and a title already printed out......... Bill S.

Well, at least you knew what your problem (besides consistency) was :jester: Bill S.

For several years PA DMV issued their SP Constr titles without a year, it should also include a state issued VIN with a VIN plate from the state of PA on the passenger side of the firewall, as you found out, this causes issues with many other states. Contact the PA DMV at 800-932-4600. You may have to send the title to them to have them reissue with a year (tell them the year you want on it)..... Bill S.

Gary, Deb and I were wondering how you were making out, I lost the bet though as I told her you would be at least half way home by now. Wish you a safe trip, and hope your wife is talking to you again Bill S. PS: Pictures of the trip, don't forget to take and post pictures of the trip :hurray:

Mike, Having owned and/or built/rebuilt 17 FFR's (and brokered another 30+), I can tell you the company has an excellent reputation. Dave Smith (owner) is a down to earth real car guy with a stellar business reputation. The 818 project was a ground up, built from scratch idea that has taken it's sweet time to come to fruition. I've be staring at donor cars for quite some time for this one, waiting to see how my back issues pan out before I send my deposit.... Bill S. PS: If you ever get the chance to meet Dave Smith, ask him the following: "where is mrmustangs FFR 289FIA" (it's a semi inside joke between the two of us that spans 10+ years, countless open house pranks, and 1,000's of people such as yourself ).

Jalopnik - this is way I'll never build a kit car

Just had that happen to my sons 98 Subaru Outback. New "professionally" tires installed 65 miles prior to that. Took out the studs (1 snapped, the rest stripped), rim, and drivers fender........ Bill S. -
On it's way to it's new home in Georgia :auto:

The seats are actually comfortable for me, having been in race seats on and off all of my adult life. My FIA still retains it's race seat (swapped the passenger seat for a restored 427 unit to keep the wife happy). It has more to do with the extension of my legs and the heal and toe driving that I do in any of my manual transmission cars that is causing the issue with my back. At 6 feet tall and 199lbs (today ), there is not much room for further adjustment to make the 7 work for me like I am attempting in the FIA at the moment (I hate to get rid of everything). I can always buy another down the road if we (doctors and I) can work out my "bugs". No doom or gloom, just reality setting in, that's all. Bill S.
-
Back surgery may be in my future, this and the FIA are on the chopping block. May be stuck with automatics from now on :banghead: I have set the reserve so low that someone will be getting a truly smoking deal. Bill S.

Thanks, some minor health issues are the reason behind the sale

All fluids have been changed, car was just gone through, and it passed PA's safety inspection with flying colors just last month. Paint color is 1965 Ford Poppy Red. Asking $26,000

Well, have the Birkin sorted out (as much as I can with my new lower back issues), runs well, suspension aligned, motor running fantastic. Only issue I have is the temp gauge does not appear to work. I've cleaned the connections (plastic safe contact cleaner and an acid brush), but no reading. Any idea what the part number is for the temp sending unit? Thanks in advance, Bill S.

I generally stick to forums such as this these days as my inbox is sacred and even in digest version it is too helter skelter for me to read. Bill S.

Here it is tucked in for the next few days until I can arrange insurance and plates :cooldude: Bill S.
