BlueBDA Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I have wanted a seven for 35 years. I have wanted to add a garage onto my house for 30 years. Here's my seven in my new garage, in the space where the lift will be installed in about a month: Now if I can just figure out how to rehydrate this thing to get it to grow to proper size: I came very close to buying the yellow Cat on BAT recently. Checked almost all of the right boxes for me. We'll see what comes up in the next year or so...
xcarguy Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 (edited) That is one really whopper-sized garage! :jester: Time for the real deal. :auto: Edited March 28, 2018 by xcarguy
BlueBDA Posted February 3, 2018 Author Posted February 3, 2018 That is one really whopper-sized garage! :jester: Time me fir the real deal. :auto: 24' x 24' - pretty standard, but with a breezeway to attach it to the house. For years I've said my gravestone will say "Never Got His Garage". No more.
Croc Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 :flag: Damn right! Every man deserves their man cave. Well done. Its showing tremendous promise. It looks a lot bigger than 24x24 but that might be the micro-model trick you are playing. What lifts are you installing? That admiration podium/balcony looks a perfect spot for an armchair and footstool to sit and survey your cars and think all is right in the world! We need to help you buy a variety of "man toys". Bringatrailer is just the place (says the person who bought a car there because he was having a shitty day at work)...
panamericano Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 The garage is great, much better that my measly one. But be careful with the rehydration process. Plain water applied topically will do more harm that good. You will need to do an IV drip. It is critical to get the proper minerals. Good luck.
Certified Lotus Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I used to have a garage that looked like that. All new and empty waiting for its next phase in life to store and work on cars that are the “must have” of every mans life. Then a few years went by and it turned out like this:
Lotusfan Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Fantastic having the doors on both ends! Well done! Are the tracks on your doors high enough to allow the door to be open with a vehilce up on the lift?
BlueBDA Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 Fantastic having the doors on both ends! Well done! Are the tracks on your doors high enough to allow the door to be open with a vehilce up on the lift? If you look at my last picture you can see the the tracks for the left door (when facing the garage from outside) are angled to follow the roof. So yes - plenty of room for car on a lift. We designed for it. Even our minivan should be fine up there.

mel kuipers Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 van on a lift wrong?....No, it just shows he is secure in his masculinity.....lol
xcarguy Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Using masculinity and mini van in the same...somewhere, there’s a law against such things. :jester:
inchoate Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Using masculinity and mini van in the same...somewhere, there’s a law against such things. :jester: back when i used to work in the trades i always used a minivan. i had a dodge that i could put 4 x 8 sheet goods flat in and it was totally nondescript, never got broken into by folks looking for tools. everyone used to make fun of me but in the end my vehicle was cheaper to run, easier to park, could fit more and longer stuff than pickups and nothing ever got stolen out of it. i will admit that it was a little awkward when i was courting so i bought a mustang for going out on the town.
