New 620r owner in Seattle! :)

Recommended Posts

I love touring in the Westfield and have done well over 10k miles that way. I'm definitely up for adding to the total.

As for parts potentially missing...that never happens. Never! :jester:

First half of July if everything goes well.. Hoping to do some drives with the local folks!

Also open for a roadtrip as-well at some stage, if there any crazy folks out there... :)

Sounds good to me. There are several enjoyable roads a little east of the Beachman Racing shop. As for "crazy folks", that should cover just about everyone on this forum.

Cem Congrats on the new car and welcome. I have a Sadev sequential mated to a Duratec with about the same HP as your 620R, althought mine is normally aspirated. You will love it. It's a great gearbox and no lift upshifts are thrilling as the power just keeps coming. But mine also does rev matching downshifts too but I do have to lift for those :driving: If you haven't driven a 7 with 300+ hp you are in for an experience.

BTW I had a new clutch installed this winter and since the gearbox was out, I sent it to Sadev for a refresh. Great service, turned it around in two days. I had the car out this Past Sunday and I'm still smiling. Had a slight issue during the first session, where it got stuck in 6th gear, but you won't have that problem. Luckily it was easily corrected back in the pits. Good Luck with yours. Tom

We (Time Machines Motorsports) supplied the 620R to Park Place for Cem. The car is a roller and the install is being done by a mechanic (don't call him a "tech") that I have worked with for 35 years and trust. We would have gladly supplied it as a roller but Park Place wanted it "turn key". I was at the factory in March (just made it back in before the shutdown) and was told the SADEV sequential is light years ahead of the Quaife unit....and three times the price!

Enjoy!

Hey Rick, nice to meet you and thanks for sharing more context. My interaction has been limited to Park Place so far, but great to hear from you!

You do know i'm counting days to get this car... and hoping for maybe 4th of July week? :)

So i do have two questions asks for you:

- You gotta share some pictures with us on how the build is going?!

- When the car is done, before you ship it... i expect you give it a go... push it hard, have fun... and do share on this thread how the car feels! :) (Hey if you have video of a few powerslides that will put a smile on my face as-well while i wait)

As i wait, i'll continue playing with my Lego caterham which this will be identical to :)

Cheers,

-Cem

We will have a better feel for completion this week. The shop doing the install has completed some other work and will be full on the 620.

Car looks great! Good to see Caterham emblazoned the dash with the model name in large letters so the passenger is clear on exactly what just scared the living hell out of them :jester:

Looking forward to seeing this beast in the flesh.

Is there another decal to go on the boot?

Thanks Rick for sharing photos! :)

Keep me posted on how this week goes on the build and i'm looking fwd to your power slide video soon! :)

In the meantime, i just go the Lego kit for 620r for father's day! It's almost the same!

Looks like i'm going to need the black stripes to match it though... Is there a good way of getting those, doe anybody know? I would think they are just decals but not sure, how is easy is it? :)

I got a graphics kit from these guys:

Install wasn't bad with two people. Lots of measuring and eyeballing to get things right. I did the broad central stripe flanked by two thinner stripes, so plenty to get lined up. Came out nice though and really sets the car off I think.

Congratulations on the 620! That thing is going to be insane. I want a ride next time I'm up in the Seattle area.

Awesome thanks for the pictures and keep us posted on how the build goes and ETA!

Looking like a tight fit already! :)

Btw, i assume it comes with two exhaust configurations... The one that goes all the way to the back and the loud one that comes from the side, with flames and pops :)

We all know, this car wants the loud one set! :) I can't wait to wake up all the neighbors in the morning from a mile away ! :)

Will you be using the 620R on a track day at a track which has noise restrictions? I am thinking possible California track trips...

I run the two silencer and rear exit configuration on my UK 420R and it keeps me below 92db which is needed given the tight noise restrictions governing most UK and European tracks. For my CSR here in the US, I run a single silencer and a side exit. Depending on how tested it runs around 98-100db.
