JeffersonRaley
FedEx just delivered this new motor from Raceline. 2.5L Duratec. It made 297bhp @7400rpm on the dyno when they tested it. Can't wait to get it in my Birkin. 1
Bartman
Wow, that will be a handful of fun. Good luck with the install and setup.
JohnCh
Wow is right! Do you have dyno curve you can post? Did they use an exhaust manifold dimensioned similarly to yours when they did the test? Thanks, John

They used a similar header and ITBs, but not exactly what I have. So I might be a little higher or lower in power. Of course, it'll gain a little as it breaks in too. JohnCh
That looks like a fun curve! Are you running a 4-1 header? If so, what is the size of the exhaust? Did you have to go to 3" for those power levels, or are you at 2.75"? Thanks, John

windsurfer
I guess he was pretty happy not to have to create a gap for the steering collum to got through. Very nice torque and hp curve btw!
NeoBear
You know I have the same motor except one of my Pullys is in a different location. I told Tom I wanted the 2.5 a dry sump and left the rest up to him when I bilt the car. I haven't put mine on a dyno but I wouldn't have thought they are making anywhere near that without FI. Pretty awesome buddy!
papak
Did Tom weld up the header himself? Great job! I have an earlier iteration and I still haven't decided if that three-piece header flange is a blessing or a curse. Motor envy!! I can tell you trying to get everything lined up on the 3 piece was pretty miserable, there is an order you want to do it in. The rest of it was pretty simple though, only had to make a slight modification to the resonator cover/guard.
oilteq
Wow! That will be fun. What size tube comes out of the header, and what are you doing for an exhaust pipe? I have what Dick Brink called a big tube header on my 2.0 Duratec. The ID coming out of the header is 2 3/8', but it was going into the original Birkin exhaust pipe with a 2" ID. I bought a muffler, some stainless tubing, had a flange made, and found a guy that could weld stainless. Now it is 2 3/8" from the collector to the tail piece.
