What is the PRICE of Gas / Fuel in your local area.

Recommended Posts

Today is the first time I have seen fuel at these prices in my local area.

(Union 76 just off the 101 freeway in Camarillo CA.)

$4.99.99 for low lead

$5.09.98 for regular

$5.21.85 for preium

$5.26.99 for diesel

This just baffels me as most of the filling stations I see are still below what this one stations low lead price even for deisel in the local vicinity that I am in.:crazy: just  :mad:

$4.06 for 93

at the Shell down the street

$4.10 for 93

$7.25 for 98 (normally what I try to use in the Seven)

$8.25 for 110

$9.75 for 119

at the track last time I looked a week or so ago

And the guys on the sevens list are saying #1.30 per liter in the UK (3.9L ot a gallon)

Diesel 4.79 my truck

93 oct 4.00 wives civic Si/ Ultralite

That is funny I have been researching TDI diesel conversions all day. I am thinking Locost with 1.9 TDI from 99 Jetta with Samuri 5 speed. Build it light and slick with mind towards mileage not so much performance. I think 60-65 mpg could be done if you could keep it under 1100 lbs.

Loren, people are seeing 60-65mpg out of the TDIs in Jettas(with some mods), you might be able to see 80 in an ultralight. :D

BTW, I just returned from SoCal and gas is the same price here(MD) as there much to my surprise.

Regular is 3.85-4.05 depending on station location

Premium is 4.15-4.25 " " " "

I don't recall what Diesel is here, but in CA I seem to recall it being around $5.25.

$4.25 for 93 octane.

$6.50 for 91 in Ireland from which I have just returned. Drove 1000 miles, rarely got higher than 3rd gear on the twisty, narrow, bumpy, scenic roads.

The newer TDI 2000 and newer engines are almost impossible to swap. The immobilizer is a bear to work with. You have to run factory dash, key and ecu. Then figuring out the wiring. The 99 engines are much less complicated. Only about 4 wires needed to make it run.

I figure my IRS Economic Stimulus payment :flag: buys me about 350-400 gallons of fuel...

Paid $4.99 for deisel in the Excursion :ack:, was a good deal when I bought it at $2.99/gal and 18mpg, now it's about a wash with a gas-powered equivalent. :nopity:

Oh well I still have my torque!
