My initial guess is 500BPH and proper gearing, no fenders, lots of duct tape, no windshield/screens, covered pax compartment, and some Indy/F1 style front and rear wings. Right now my car is nutty quick, but scary over 100mph, like hydroplaning. It's like the car wants to lift off with the panel behind the seats, front wings/fenders, rear wings/fenders, and brooklands wanting to blow apart.. seschm1234 Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 First go round has F = 1/2 rho * v2*A*Cd Don't know A but Cd ~ 0.7.. so rather, use car specs to calculate A*Cd and assume that 260 HP = 155 mph Using this.. I am considering the ugly Donker D8 270 style wings in front and rear, but am hesitant given the open cockpit and roll cage. WestTexasS2K Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Kevin and I did the Texas Mile (standing mile run) a few years ago now. He did 167.4 was his best. This was with his supercharged S2000 make about 380 rwhp at the time. It had no fenders and we even tried a aero nose on it removed the headlights taped the grill mostly up, full belly pan and rear diffuser. It was much faster with no wings of course but more scary to drive at that speed. We needed a little lower gear or actually a closer ratio gear box. I think 200 is possible but not in a mile unless you have 750-800 hp. The first 140 comes pretty quick about 1/4 mile. The last 3/4 is a bitch without perfect gearing. I think 175 might have been attainable for that horsepower level. I wouldnt want to be driving. There is a thread on here just type in Texas Mile for our experience. It actually worked very well in the turns but was slower on the longer straights. They have some really neat designs, makes for an angry looking 7. I really like the curved windscreen look and the side window treatment really changes the appearance of the 7. I never like or interested looking a 7 that lost it's traditional 7 look. A little like RCB is ok but Donkervoort seems surpassed the tradition....but that's only my opinion. Do you think there's enough surface area though or enough open/clean air to make the wing work--underside of the wing most important so acts more wing and less spoiler.
