Kitcat
Jeez, SuperSport, Caterham flat-out stole yr paint scheme. Least they can do is donate the new engine as partial compensation:)!
scannon
3.9 lb/hp! Too much hp is just about right. I'm looking forward to seeing the 'Ring times.
jeffs
Some interesting changes. I like the new seats and the new air intake, and I'm curious about the ZZRs (anyone here try them?). Can't say that I'm a fan of the new dash though. Mine might be completely unreadable during the day, but sometimes its better to be stylish than practical. Looks like they've finally caught on to the issue of the rearview on the aeroscreen. Just removing it isn't very elegant though... maybe you should sell them your solution Tom. supersportsp
and I'm curious about the ZZRs (anyone here try them?). I have ZZR's on my car on 13" Caterham wheels, basically the exact same set-up as here. Very, very sticky. I have never driven a car with CR's, but every indication is that the ZZR's are far more grippy. I wonder with the supercharger and other stuff here if they can make the car in LHD? Is the steering rack going to be in the way? Has anyone seen torque quoted? This is where I would see the biggest gains. I am also curious about heat soak robbing the engine of power at warmer track outings after a couple of laps. I know many supercharged cars have an issue with this. Alaskossie
Does anybody know if the new 620R is based on the Series 3 chassis, or the SV chassis? Hard to tell from the early photos..... What is the rain performance of the ZZR tyres? Doesn't look like much grooviness on them.
yellowss7
Definitely looks like a series 3 to me. Tom

MightyMike
I love the car; it sure does have a lot of switches on the dash though.
Bonjo2
Wow. That is one serious car. Only a matter of time before an R1000.
lucky dawg
One of the photo captions states that this is the replacement for the R500, which has been discontinued. I don't recall seeing that announcement previously.
Sean
I love the car; it sure does have a lot of switches on the dash though. I thought the same. Then I counted them, and there are eleven - ten in the middle, and one outboard from the driver. This is the same number of switches as on a Caterham w/ standard dash, but just grouped differently. bsimon
That doesn't look like a Rotrex in Steve's photo. Looks more like a roots blower standing on edge. Who makes that?
Boxologist
Sequential transmission or still the Cat 6 Speed? Agreed on the new dash switches. Definitely seems a car where the Stack dash would be at home on.
MoPho
I am sure you can get the dash done any way you want Here is some video .
WestTexasS2K
Definitely not Rotrex. It looks a Whipple screw charger layed on its side. Wonder how they are cooling the air charge? Plate cooler built into the supercharger?
jlumba81
It looks similar to the Miata supercharger that Cosworth used to make. Low psi so no need for intercooling. Ooops read the description and it says that it has a air to water intercooler. Edited July 10, 2013 by jlumba81
