xcarguy
Shane . . . I have to admit I misread the image you pasted above. I was expecting something else in the morning for a moment there! :ack: Maybe I should have used an easier font . . . . Good thing I didn't send that from my iphone; spellchoke may have burned both of us. :smilielol5:

Croc
Oops...be careful there. The Birkin is located in South Africa. That would present a challenging shipping and importation option. I often wonder if sellers realize they are listing an item for sale on the wrong country Ebay sometimes?

Croc
Did you miss me? :seeya: Tod's S4 is listed again. I have seen this car and it is a very good driver with the rare hardtop so you could drive it all year round without freezing your nipples off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-S4-/291652836454?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43e7dd1c66:g:e98AAOSwu-BWQ1KH&item=291652836454 Dick Brink has a Zetec engine for sale that was extracted from a Birkin. He says it has 300hp with a turbocharger....so who had a turbocharged Birkin? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Zetec-Engine-Racing-specs-/262201290662?hash=item3d0c6a2fa6:g:7IAAAOSwYHxWJ-AA&vxp=mtr I do like how the box in the photo next to the engine is labeled "Diapers". Locost for sale in TX This ad is for the only car that has ever scared me. Excellent! Sounds promising already! 1320 pounds with 300 horsepower. This thing is basically a street legal go-kart with no frills. The car has no heater, no air conditioner, no ABS, no airbags, no power steering, and manual brakes. Just tires and pure turbo goodness. I like this guy! It turns heads from car guys and non-car-people alike. The car is registered in Texas as a 2014 Assembled vehicle, 1957 Lotus 7 replica. With that, there are no emissions tests required. It is fully road legal, just like any other car. The car is called a "Locost", which is a play on words for a low cost Lotus. Lotus and Caterham build the 7 and super seven, which this car is modeled after. I built the chassis, using the plans sold under the Haynes/Chris Gibbs name. http://www.amazon.com/Build-Your-Own-Sports-Car/dp/1844253910/ I modified the plans to use 2001 Miata hubs and rear differential, as we don't have the Ford donor vehicle they call for in the plans. Turbo charged 1.6L engine and 5 speed manual transmission from a 1990 Miata. Custom-built control arms for all 4 corners. The frame is all 1" or ¾" steel 16 gauge steel. The floor pan is 18 gauge steel, with aluminum sides. Ultrashield aluminum seats, 15" passenger, 16" driver. QA1 Adjustable coil-over shocks Wilwood Big Brake Kit front with 2 piece rotors, and 2001 Miata Sport large rotors/calipers rear. Tilton triple-pedal assembly, floor mounted. Removable steering wheel for easier entry/exit and security Konig feather 15" wheels, with 205 wide tires at all 4 corners. I have started a nose-cone for the car, but never intended a hood for it. A hood would require a bulge for the valve cover, and intake manifold. I've added a secondary radiator after the pictures were taken, which has resolved my cooling issue. I have a manually operated windshield wiper which clips to the windshield to pass inspection. I don't drive with it. Buyer must understand that this is a homebuilt vehicle. Although the design has been used to build hundreds of cars, and despite the many welding projects that I have built, the car comes with zero warranty. It is being sold as-is, where is, with no liability offered. I cannot guarantee that you'll be able to insure it with a typical insurance company. I currently have it insured with Hagerty as if it were a classic car (replica), and had no issues as such. It is not a daily driver for me. Due to the immense power to weight, I cannot allow people to test drive the car. You may ride in the passenger seat, and I will show you what the car is capable of, but you must "pay to play" so to speak. If you come look at the car, you'll find that I am very meticulous with my builds. The car is clean, well thought out, and built to the best of my ability. I can supply the buyer with CAD files of the build, if desired. The reason for its sale is multi-faceted, but mostly because I've built a V8 Miata, and the ability to raise the top results in a much more practical car for my needs. For more information on this style of vehicle, visit the forums located at www.locostusa.com, or check out my full build log at http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14087 Engine specifics: RC550 Injectors Flyin Miata fuel rail FM stand alone ECU greddy blow-off valve custom pistons H-beam rods ACT Flywheel ACT 6-puck clutch GT30R Garret turbo The engine was tuned at 16 psi at 300whp by the previous owner, who ran it in his 1990 miata. I have done no tuning, nor verified his HP claim, but it is damn fast and easy to believe. Asking $14000. The Arch chassis replica is still out there in Craigslist if you want to see the ad again...and again....and again.... Its come down another $50 in price. Today while searching for Birkin's, thanks to Apple autocorrect I found something new on craigslist - A merkin. I never heard of wigs for that part of a lady before. Google at your risk. The purple Westfield in KS is still available at $19950. Don't know why this has not sold as it is a solid spec and looks to be in decent condition - I guess potential buyers don't like purple? http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/5382954449.html SCCA Solo race car project (B mod) based on a Lotus 7 Asking $5000 http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/5363729542.html Locost project in KS asking $7000 http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/5360745090.html Birkin in PA for $22500 Looks interesting and worth a closer look. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/birkin/s3/1800848.html Classiccar.com has a few ads of interest http://classiccars.com/listings/view/744510/1961-lotus-seven-for-sale-in-san-diego-california-92102 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/715384/1969-lotus-seven-for-sale-in-spokane-washington-99208 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/751217/1965-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-washington-missouri-63090 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/731934/1972-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-lutz-florida-33559 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/726100/1967-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-o-fallon-illinois-62269 Must be a pre-lit Westfield? http://classiccars.com/listings/view/743191/1986-lotus-westfield-7-for-sale-in-mooresville-north-carolina-28117 Lemmings has a few ads too http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/caterham/unspecified/1775640.html And one other Birkin http://www.wirewheel.com/2003-Birkin-1967-Lotus-7-for-sale.html Edited January 10, 2016 by Croc
