  3. Would need everything except maybe the computer, but if included...even better. I would prefer one that is in excellent condition. I am going to stick it in my Europa as its twincam is weary (needs a bore, pistons, etc....plus it really is a leaky piece of junk). My Seven remains happy with its 4age. My location is Duxbury MA. Paul
  4. Incredible timing. I was just thinking about this very idea yesterday. Setting it up square with the car is still the key, but not having those strings to deal with is mighty appealing...
  5. OK, ways of minimizing poured gasoline on our cars and motorcycles. But all of those methods introduce more hydrocarbons into our atmosphere, overcoming the fuel recovery efforts to keep that stuff out of our lungs and air. I'm going to stick with pumping from closed container (gas can) to closed container (gas tank) and minimize the spills rather than cleaning up afterwards.
  6. Which "BIG" show is this????
  7. Next in line if the first buyer falls through. Let me know!
  8. Today at the big show. I'm not going back tomorrow (going autocrossing instead), so I won't be at the giant door-prize drawing where they will announce the the car total. I didn't spend much of the day researching car numbers. The highest one I saw in my limited sample was in the 7-thousands. I signed up back in January and my number was 00653. They have exceeded 10,000 in the past, but last year was only in the 9-thousands. This is cars entered. Paying spectators is another thing. All-in-all there are fewer folks onsite than at the State Fair, and most of the food concessions are open. Lotus of car-stuff venders who do a brisk business in electric fans since the cruising loop moves slowly. I didn't shoot a lot of photos. I will get them on my BTTFW group on Flickr later. Sleep now.
  9. "the new CSR 200 / 260 talk group"? Are you talking about the thread I started or something else?
  10. back when I was riding my Harley, in 2013-14, I found I often had to be aware of residual fuel in the nozzle that would spill on my fuel tank. That lovely paint! So I developed the habit of placing a gas towel over the area. Back then, it was a problem. Maybe not so much now? If fuel recovery is anything like the freon recovery regulations... And, for those who spill gas on paint...JUST LET IT DRY, DON'T WIPE IT!
  11. pertol evaporates quickly
  12. Rushing to finish my build I performed a very rough alignment. But I had plans for using 360 degree lasers to replace the "string" in a traditional string alignment. I also came up with a very inexpensive chassis height checker. More details at Chassis Height Checker and Laser Alignment blog posts. Overall this seemed a success! I'd be interested in feedback on the alignment method and whether anyone else has gone down this path?
  13. @demoray and @Vovchandr, thanks for taking the time to respond. So far the comments and questions have been more than reasonable so easy to respond to, and @Kitcat and the original owner, Mark McClure have both jumped in to help.
  14. Exactly. Whether buyers realize it or not on old cars and online auctions they are really buying the seller more than the car. If the seller is forthcoming and open then it makes it feel safe to commit. A seemingly perfect car from a sketchy seller is a worse purchase then a car that needs work with EVERYTHING disclosed and explained.
  15. I've experienced buying on BaT. Sellers make or break an auction more than how BaT rewrites your words. The advice, and more importantly what not to do from above, are spot on. My advice is to be engaged and forthcoming with answers as best you can, and if you have documentation, share it.
  16. It's not me. While I've been out that way in my 7, it's been months.
  17. A couple of friends have spotted a 7 on Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD, just off I70. This was 2 separate sightseeing on different days. I did not know there was a other in the area. Graham
  18. Yesterday
  19. That's a relief.
  20. Shoes not going. I took them off in the loft and dropped them downstairs to put away in my driving kit storage. I was too lazy to walk down and walk back up.
  21. That is a lot of kit to go with the car. Were the shoes new or sanitized? Hope he doesn't want to do a Shoey with them.
  22. It was October. Chilly, but at least the blood suckers weren’t an issue. Agreed on the single malts! During the same trip, we also visited Islay (my favorites). I remember flying back to the mainland in a tiny prop engine plane. After the pilot shewed the sheep off the runway, he had to move the passengers around to balance out the weight of the whisky we packed off the island. 😀
  23. it’s been a long time since I rented from here but touring Scotland is one of life’s pleasures, second after warming up on the single malt whisky 🥃 in the evenings. How are the midges (or whatever they call those blood sucking monster bugs) that eat you alive?
  24. Lucky buyer, that is a really nice CSR!
