  1. Judging by the last few photos, it must have been one heck of a party.
  2. Have you taken any of them on the track yet?
  3. "And the price includes the land which was not included in the $14 million quoted for just the improvements on the first one. However, this one doesn't have a guitar shaped lake." But the $14 mil does include the car and motorcycle collection.
  4. No indication which chassis it is for.
  5. Definitely has "patina".
  6. Not sure which side of that a line a Citroen convertible falls on.
  7. Well I certainly now feel much better about my little ouchie.
  8. Luckily the seats in my V-Sport and truck has room for me to bend my right foot (with boot) back far enough out of the way to drive left footed for a few weeks. Now in a soft brace and no problems driving. Will try driving the Caterham again in a few minutes.
  9. Not quite a blat, but spent two great days at Oregon Raceway Park a month ago. And then broke my right ankle 5 days later and have not been able to drive the Caterham since. Just got out of the rigid boot and into a soft brace, so hoping the weather cooperates enough to get in one last long drive.
  10. There are significant import exemption differences between bringing in a car over 25 years old vs. a car for track use only. Feds want to make sure that someone doesn't claim a vehicle as track car and then license it for the road. Bussa - Since you were trying to bring in a Formula car, did you provide a photo of the car so the examiner would have a better idea of what the car was? That may have gone a long way towards getting the track car exemption.
  11. Leave as is, maybe adding a little more insightful commentary. If a buyer is that easily swayed, or a seller that easlily offended, they have much bigger problems and shouldn't be invoilved with 7s.
  12. Back on January 9th, a group of Wadesboro, North Carolina bikers were riding east on Hwy.74 when they saw a girl about to jump off the Pee Dee River Bridge. So they stopped. George, their leader, a big burly man of 53, gets off his Harley, walks through a group of gawkers, past the State Trooper who was trying to talk her down off the railing, and says, "Hey Baby . . . whatcha doin' up there on that railin'?" She says tearfully, "I'm going to commit suicide!!" While he didn't want to appear "sensitive," George also didn't want to miss this "be-a-legend" opportunity either so he asked . . . "Well, before you jump, Honey-Babe . . .why don't you give ol' George here your best last kiss?"So, with no hesitation at all, she leaned back over the railing and did just that . . . and it was a long, deep, lingering kiss followed immediately by another even better one. After they breathlessly finished, George gets a big thumbs-up approval from his biker-buddies, the onlookers, and even the State Trooper, and then says, "Wow! That was the best kiss I have ever had! That's a real talent you're wasting there, Sugar Shorts. You could be famous if you rode with me. Why are you committing suicide?" "My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl." It's still unclear whether she jumped or was pushed
  13. Since you apparently don't like the answers to your questions, and have been unwilling or unable to look at the NHTSA sites, here is a link that should help you http://icsw.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/mport/. If you still are not satisfied, give it a try and see what happens.
  14. Once a car has been built, it is a built car and cannot be undone. You may be able to sneak it past Customs, but is it really worth the risk? Keep in mind the cost of partial dismantling, crating it all up, separate shipping of the crates (including pick up and delivery) and then reassembling it here. Doubtful you would be saving anything and could have the whole car siezed or denied entry. Oh, and possible criminal charges for claiming the car as something it isn't. Other than all that, give it a try and let us know how it works for you.
  15. Even though you are not looking for advice, you may wish to consider posting on http://californiacaterhamclub.com/chat/index.php since it has a little more of a west coast following.
  16. Go to an auto body supply store (or online) and buy a roll of body side molding tape. It is just the right thickness to move the license plate slightly away from the car body, is very strong, and long lasting. Be sure to leave an opening at each corner so water can easily drain out.
  17. There aren't any 7 specific events that I know of. The All British Field Meet was at the end of July and British Day at Redmond Town Center was also last month. There is an informal group of us that tries to coordinate our track days. Let me know if that is of interest to you.
  18. A 230 mile round trip drive for lunch with great views. Wouldn't have minded if it was less than 100 degrees for much of the day. Also met a pleasant state trooper, but no ticket for 64 in 50. He asked how fast the car is and I rolled my eyes and said "I wouldn't know, sir". We both had a good laugh.
  19. Driver height isn't an issue, it's the width.
  20. Mike - Is there any significant weight difference between the two cars?
  21. You may want to check with Bruce at Beachman Racing (206) 774-0852. Myself and several others on the forum have found him to be quite helpful with Caterham related parts and issues.
  22. Big dog - That timing should work for me. Please keep in contact when you get your dates finalized. I am in the Kirkland/Bellevue area, not too far from Beachman Racing.
  23. If you'll be coming through the Seattle area on your way up, give a little advance warning and some of us can try to get together wIth you.
  24. A Brit is traveling to Australia for the first time and upon landing in Sydney, arrives at Immigration. The officer asks "Do you have a criminal record?" to which the Brit replies "I'm sorry, I didn't realize that was still a requirement."
