  1. That is great. Just amazing creativity and editing abilities.
  2. I have to agree with Jim on this but I have even gone one step cheaper and that was to paint all the colored parts with spray paint that I can buy in any good parts store and even have a couple of spare cans for touch ups in the garage and trailer. Face it the paint is the cheapest thing on any of our cars especially if you track it and drive it the way they are to be driven for enjoyment... I know I am a cheap skate but I still have fun. :driving:
  3. That is faster than a lot of very high end race cars......just amazing a 7 can go that fast and stay on the ground.
  4. All I can say is WOW. Very unique and it makes me think of the movie "I Robot" .
  5. I would not want to be a passenger in that car and have a mechanical failure like a tire popping at speed as I think you would get one wild ride and if you where to hit the wall or anything else I would think the position of the passengers would be in the impact zone and it would hurt but that is just my outlook at that setup. For not much more you can go to a driving school and drive a FF or similar I think.
  6. Hi Kitcat, Sorry to read about the issues your having with your Birkin. Clutch assembly could be soaked in oil due to the oil pan gasket leaking which would also require changing it and causing the slippage. Sure is a bummer but you will defiantly know your car when finished. Keep at it and try to keep smiling.
  7. What no Space Camp anymore either.....you know.....
  8. Thanks for the nice words. After reading some of the comments this morning on the Jalopnik site that the readers have left I just figured that they have no clue as to what is a fun car nor what it takes to build one from scratch. I know I will miss my 7 if and when it sells but it is time to move it on and let someone else have as much fun as I have had with it so if you know of anyone interested in a 7 type car let them know or have them contact me.
  9. I wonder whose brother-in-law will be getting the contract to build the new university and who owns the land that it will be built on and if they will have a Football team at the new university?
  10. Just saw that as another friend e-mailed me the link which is great. I like especially like the description at the end of the Jalopnik article as it dose describe what a 7 is all about in my belief. "Even if you don't need to add lightness to yourself, slipping behind the wheel of this apparently tidy and sorted Seven will require added lightness to your wallet, to the tune of $16,999. In comparison to a Caterham - the official Seven clone - which usually command $25K-plus, that seems pretty reasonable. Of course, when compared to riding a stolen shopping trolly down a steep hill, which would offer similar sphincter-tightening thrills, that's a lot of money. But this Seven clone offers many more thrills than does a wire cart from the Piggly Wiggly, and for that we need to consider the value of its price."
  11. Boy oh boy. I think he was very controlled for having that just happened...I know I would have been still yelling at the driver even before he was able to get out of his SUV.
  12. Nice BOSS or is it a Shelby. Great color combo by the way.
  13. Hi Steve, Get some black shoe dye at a shoe repair store and apply a couple light coats on the worn areas and then buff with a shoe brush. If the leather is rough you might want to use and emeroyboard to buff the surface just a little to smooth it out but use caution as you can go thorugh quickly if your not carefull. Hope this helps.
  14. I do not have a Zetec engine but have a BMC (MGB) engine which has a breather that is somewhat like what you have shown on the side of the block and I removed it when I first rebuilt my engine for a cleaner look and wound up putting it back on due to the pressure that built up in the engine which caused it to leak oil from the gaskets like their where none. I also replaced the valve cover with an aftermarket cover that did not have the vent in it and that also caused the same issue so I would keep the vent but that is just my belief.
  15. That is a good one.
  16. Well my 7 is still for sale and needs to find a new home as I have not been driving it all that much and that is not a good thing for any car in my belief.
  17. That is different and strange and funny.
  18. Just my belief but the 7 your talking about is most likely registered as a 1967 to get around the emission and safety requirements and is most likely a newer model. The reason I say this is my car is registered that way because it is a replica of an early model car and I know of a lot of other 7's that are registered as an early model year for the same reasons. Still a very nice car and whom ever ends up with it will have a very nice vehicle from what I can see from the photos.
  19. That is one heck of a track and one you would not want to mess up on due to the barriers......very cool indeed and makes the corkscrew at Leguna Seca look like childs play and I agree with twobone that is is in another league.
  20. Tom your a sick puppy but that is why I found that I enjoy your post and the short time I was able to talk to you in person when I was back east a couple of years ago. Your friend and another sick puppy......:jester:
  21. twobone, The link below has a good rebuildable muffler. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=MUFFLERLT&utm_source=201204&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=201204
  22. Good cartoon....
  23. Nice. I like the single roll hoop look.
  24. Mic sounds like it is in a good location in both video's and your 7 sounds good. That is a nice Big Healey you where out running with. Did you make your half doors for your 7 or did they come with it?
  25. That is a pre-rec for LA commuters.....reading or putting on make-up or shaving....
