Yep Hank will most likely point out it has a pink looking tow hook......:jester:

That little turbo is just to cool.....could put one on each exhaust tube and then you would have a quad turbo (on a four cylinder 1800cc engine) that might give enough boost to a manifold that would maybe make a difference and improve HP.......:smilielol5: I could see it now in the pits when someone spots a setup with four or more of those the head scratching that would take place.....:smilielol5: Might get more boost from the Vienna Sausage's......:smilielol5:

Let alone ground clearance for street use.......:jester:

You have posed a good question that is rather difficult to answer due to the number of different things that can effect ride such as spring rates, dampener rates, seat contusion design, tire design and air pressures, road surface and design, weight, HP and Torque, structural design just to name a couple. I would have to say a basic Caterham or Westfield or Birkin or Locost is going to ride different that any factory produced mass production auto you have ever driven just due to the fact that they all are based off of the original design of the Lotus 7 Race Car which was as basic a car could be and still work well and even then the original 7's were known to break the frames and needed to be worked on all the time but that is just my belief and I even carry a small tool box with me when ever I go out in my seven just for a drive and have used in more than once to fix something or tighten something either during the drive or after it just due to the way the road surface affects the car and how it drives.

Hi Mazda, Here is a link with a photo of the top mount for a Caterham Nose cone mount. It uses a tab with a Zuse fastener spring clip to hold the nose cone. http://www.mycaterham.com/66828/66132.html?*session*id*key*=*session*id*val* I mounted my nose cone by adding a couple of tabs and putting rivnuts in them and then screwing the nose cone on to the car if that helps. If you look at the right side of the nose cone in the attached photo you can see the top tab and the rivnut. Hope this helps.

I know Terry I was just thinking that flights would be more available to the Vancouver area (trip to the start would only be about a two day drive [975 km or 1200 miles]) and that there might be better rates for the trucking to that area than the closest major port of entry into Canada from Montana for the folks coming from the East and Central part of the US as it would be at Interstate 15 at Sweet Grass, Mt 59484 which is still about 200 miles from the start by my figures. Besides getting a flight to meet the truck to the US side of the boarder in Montana would mean getting to Great Falls or Helena first and then catching a small commuter Ross International Airport which is shared by Coutts, Canada and Sweet Grass USA at the boarder. Either way would still be fun drive for anyone doing it and still expensive.

That sure is a work of art and the craftsmanship that goes into producing that type of art form, object, machine or car is just amazing to say the least. Just makes me wish I could just sit and talk to the designers and the builders of the Huayra and try to learn something from them as they are just amazing and so so talented that as a mechanical designer I feel that they are way out of my leage and abilities but then if I had the resources to afford the time and money to do something like that then they might not be out there that far. Sure is a beautiful car but I also know that it is not very practical even if you can afford the price of ownership but what car of this caliber is and that includes our beloved 7s also in my belief. Now I wounder what small nation would cost the same as the Pagani Huayra?

Hi Croc, Why not have the cars delivered to Blaine, Washington and then the owners can drive the 55 miles (46 km) to Vancouver, BC. I have crossed at the Blaine Boarder crossing a number of times with my truck and car trailer without any issues as I have friends that live on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo and we take the ferry across from Departure Bay, BC (about 156 miles [132 km]) we have had to wait for room on the ferry but that is not all that bad considering the length of my setup (just over 65ft. [truck and trailer]) and we have never had to have a customs broker as I am the owner of the vehicles and I am not selling them and will be coming back to the USA with them. They do ask for proof of insurance and to see the parer work that says they are my vehicles (registration or title) going both ways. If you need a safe place to drop the cars in Blaine, Washington I even know of a place to do that as I have also done that also. Just a suggestion and if I can help with information let me know.

He was given $2 Million by Red Bull to do it but I think he is still nuts. He was later asked if he would do it again and he said not ever for $4 Million.

I used a spray paint that Weber Grills recommends for their BBQ stoves that are black and it has held up very well for the last 3 years and my header is not ceramic coated which helps as an insulator. Just make sure the surface is clean and free of grease. The first time I started up my car after painting the header after letting it cure over night the header turned a lighter black (more towards a very dark gray color) and has not change colors any more. Here is a link to what I used. http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=108 Hope this helps.

That is a Fiat Dino Spyder which is very rare here in the USA. I have only seen a couple of them. Looks like someone put a prancing horse on the grill. Nice car that used the Ferrari 2.4ltr V6 that was also used in the Ferrari Dino but mid engined.

twobone, To the best of my knowledge the backfire your referencing in your post is most likely from the fuel being to rich and not burning in the combustion chamber to is fullest and should only occur when decelerating causing that popping sound at the end of the exhaust system. If it is backfiring through the intake then you have a timing issue or a valve that is not closing completely but that is just my belief and should be taken with a grain of salt. As for the exhaust leak at the collector the joint is usually a slip fit with some type of high temp sealer that is flexible or has a seal ring inside that the exhaust manifold pipes push up against to make the seal, all of which will eventually erode from the flow of hot exhaust gasses through the system which is normal. A lot of collectors are welded to the manifold pipes to prevent exhaust gas leaks in the connection area for just that reason but that can make installing or removal for servicing difficult if not impossible. I personally would try some of this as it works very well and can take the heat. http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotive/automotive_gasketing/gasket_sealants/auto_Permatex_Copper_Spray-A-Gasket_Hi-Temp_Adhesive_Sealant.htm Hope this helps.

Well I think I am going to sell my 7 Replica
MHKflyer52 replied to MHKflyer52's topic in Cars For Sale
Well my 7 is still for sale and needs to find a new home as I have not been driving it all that much and that is not a good thing for any car in my belief. I was asking $12500 US Dollars but am willing to make someone a good deal within reason if anyone is interested so make me an offer or tell your friends and let them do their bidding. -
Neat video....you should have told everyone it was due to the tremmors the south island has experenced and not that the road was bumpy:jester:. Looks like you had a great day and a good time out in your 7. Haveing said that how are things going now that sometime has passed and what is going to happen to the old part of Christchurch.
