  1. Doc (my wife) taking the wing off Mojito, Road Atlanta 08 http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/380982949_DSCN0192a.jpg Now if I can get her to wear a bikini and change the oil..... Cheers 7evin 7evin, Now I see why you’re so fast around a track and your competition is slow. Having your wife standing by the track has everyone looking for her and as for you the speeds you turn are understandable to get to see her each lap. Great picture.....and the bikini would be a real show stopper :d :d .
  2. Hay Mazda, It is blurry due to your car WINKING that all. :jester: :jester: How close is Franklin7 to that first run around the block after the rebuild....just woundering and what is its weight now.
  3. Your garage or should I say private art display area is nicer than my house  and the other toys are something else. Very nice.
  4. Ok with me and VERY FAIR and seems reasonable. Thanks for the great site for all to appreciate and read.
  5. Good one.....
  6. Welcome to the group and when you get the time post some photos of your cars as we are all gear heads and will enjoy seeing them especially if you can tell a little bit about each.

  8. Well I am really disgusted at the moment with my "7" as it has just been giving me all kinds of fits and small problems. The new engine in my car has just been one thing after another. Today was the first time that I took it out for a run besides the trip around the block after getting it back into the chassis and running. That trip around the block showed me some small problems like an oil leak coming from the pushrod covers on the side of the block which are located behind the exhaust headers and below the intake manifold. Not the easiest place to get my hands into but I was able to replace the seals and fixed that leak. then this morning I figured I would drive my car to the monthly breakfast of the Porsche Club which just happed to be at the local airport and was the drive your other toy meeting so I figured I would drive the 7 to the breakfast and have some fun which I did until I decided to head back home. I got about a mile from the airport and just happened to notice my oil pressure was dropping while sitting at a red light. Pulled to the side and shut it down to find an oil line was leaking were the hose and fitting meet, (new hose but poor quality I guess) I was able to fix that small problem by removing both hoses to the oil cooler and using the other hose to make a loop that omitted the oil cooler until I could get home or so I though. While going down the freeway at 65mph all of a sudden my engine just quits and I find my self coasting and thinking now what is wrong. Well I got it over to the shoulder and found that the return line from the radiator to the choke is blown and has soaked the distributor and electronics so I just guess my ride was just not to be and that my 7 likes the shop bay more than it likes being out on the open road. Here are some photos of how we came home. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/TheTripHomeAug22008
  9. Well no more overheating problems now as the new (rebuilt MGB motor) is in the car and the drive around the block was a lot of fun especially with the open headers...nice blue flame about six inches out of the pipes. Here is a couple of photos of it while still in the shop and yes I know my shop is a mess but I know were almost all the tools are hiding. If you look close in the first photo you can see the old dead engine in the back round. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/31408231_DSCN0260.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/268721705_DSCN0262.JPG
  10. Rob, I have what would be a book build 7 and used an MGB rack and it fits very well. Here is a photo of the rack in the frame just after I painted the chassis. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1372031120_DSCN1264.JPG
  11. :iagree: Have to agree with Skip on this subject......now are you planing on moving to another state or just entering the Witness Protection Program :jester: :
  12. Morgan and Steve having fun in Orange.
  13. Looks good Mazda. Now I see that youdon't need a hole for the drive shaft as I originally though that the bulkhead behind the seats was shown when you had it upside down. I bet the kids in the neighbor hood have never seen that big of a home built couster car..... :d
  14. Your correct Arya :iagree:. That is why I have an F-350 Crew Cab Long bed Super Duty (a true 1 ton pickup). I just love it when some kid in a car thinks that my truck is slow and I just leave them in the dust and besides it rides very nice and can pull anything that I own (34ft RV, 28ft car hauler with car in side) without even slowing up and still gets 16.5 mpg around town and 20 to 21 mpg on the highway when useing curse control (towing 13 to 17 mpg depending what the load is and speed) and I don't have to stop for fuel but every 550 to 600 miles on average. Manual says it has a 42 gal tank but I have never put more than 38 gal into it when refueling. It is real interesting when I really put my foot into in from a stop and light the rear tires up (Duals) makes one hell of a cloud of smoke. :d
  15. Dave, What is the setup under the nose of your 7. Looks like some sort of air scoop with a vent but it is flat. Just woundering.
  16. That is crazy. I am glad I am not the builder or designer of that building as that came down with little to no effort from what the security camera showed. Lucky no one else was using the ATM at that time. I wounder if they had a sign stating the max height for vehicles, if they did not I can see the argument that most likely occured with the laywers and insurance company.
  17. Mazda, I take it your going to cut a hole for the drive shaft to connect to the rear diff or did you just forget it. I know your just going to use the exhaust thrust to power your 7.......hehehe...... :d By the way nice job.
  18. So how much dose Franklin 7 now weigh? Just woundering. My car now weighs under 900lbs at the moment but it is minus the engine and trans and has to be pushed by someone if I want to go for a ride but that will be changing this weekend if all goes as planed. New reconditioned BMC 1800cc (MGB) engine is now sitting in the shop waiting to get put into the my car.
  19. And the hammer part is used to recycle the glass by bashing it into sand after consuming the contents....hahaha...or ones fingers if actually using it to drive a nail.....
  20. I agree with Mondo that "Sooner or later a lot of people won't be able to afford the cheap products we get from other countries, especially with the dollar going in the dumps." That is why the 99 cent stores are doing so well across the country.....it is ashamed.....maybe our system needs to get back to the time when we actually trained our children in school to have a basic understanding of a trade (woodshop, metal shop, etc.) and then if they have the ability (smarts) to attend college and actually get a degree in something that has a real demand in today’s world things might change. Mabe our government needs to set some goals for our countrys energy requirements...look at what happened when the Kennedy administration set the goal of putting a man on the moon with Technology and the advances that made. Just my belief an opinion.
  21. So has Mary driven the 7 yet or is Robert wearing out the drivers seat..... Sounds like your having a lot of fun with your 7 as it should be in the real world. I just have to get my car back on the road as it has been almost a month now without it and the smile that it puts on my face. Old engine is now out and new engine is being preped to go in most likely this coming weekend...
  22. Thanks BusaLoco for fixing the link. I had done some editing and forgot to update the post of the link. Never said I was the sharpest one in the group.
  23. That looks quite good. Looks like you did not loose any ground clearance at all. I like the color of your car.
  24. Cool but what happens when the pump motor fails...how would one get out in an emergency....would not want to get fingers caught in it or even ones arm or head. Just not for me but cool.
  25. Well I findly made the time to get the old deadengine out of the 7. Boy dose my 7 look naked now. I have added some photos of the process to the link if your interested. http://picasaweb.google.com/MHKflyer52/OverheatingProblemBeingSolvedByReplacingEngine Next step is to get the engine and trans out of the MGB GT and freshen it up while I clean the engine bay of the 7. :7frog:
