  1. "PS: For the gullible people called Mark on this forum, cotton is grown and not killed. Polyesters are cute at a cellular level." I'll have to check with Mr. Newey. I'm not sure polyesters will cut it. Nomex fibers perhaps, or a natural fur - boar, terrier, something stiff? He'll figure it out. Buy the way, my house is on land that was a cotton field as late as the mid 1960s.
  2. Wow! Croc is on to something. Just what all the Formula 1 drivers will have next year. The variations are infinite. Of course, Adrian Newey will come up with the optimum fur length and texture to calm the air flowing off the helmet. The ears might even be electronically controlled (soon banned).

Trivia question. Silly, I know, but...Is there anywhere our Croc has NOT been to?

  6. That is SO wrong for us poor four bangers.
  7. So, someone should just head on down there with a big trailer? The "less attractive" one might not be bad IFF it has proven race history in period.
  8. I added a couple lines of black tape across the top of the goggles, and that blocks the sun and sky glare. Particularly useful when you are blatting through a narrow road with tree cover, and the sun glare is hitting you intermittently. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16083&stc=1 So it's not just your Dan Gurney imitation?
  9. For road driving you can easily get prescription safety glasses. They cut out the breeze and debris and are more impact resistant than glasses.
  10. Mine came through this forum. 100 miles away. I went the day after the ad to see and made the deal. Had to make a second run with a trailer. I'm sure it would have been sold if I had delayed. If one is a REALLY good deal, you need to strike immediately. A car either sells immediately, if a great deal. Or, after it's been listed for a few weeks (+?) and the owner finally realizes it's over priced. Only had one bad experience long distance, and it was from a friend. Chassis rust on a Stablimenti Farina bodied Siata. In any case, I advise budget for a quick trip, even if it's not for final delivery, if there is no local person to inspect it. I inspected a Gullwing for a dealer; sent him 3 rolls of photos: walked around on the cell phone with him for 20 minutes, answering detailed questions. Fun test drive!
  11. What size hammer is a Subtlety ?
  12. Again with the Arkansas jokes? Croc, we should be ashamed of ourselves.
  13. Great photos. Thanks. Lovely Westy. re the numbers really that big, or does the tiny car just make them looks huge? Nice Montreal. Great car. STILL under valued IMO. Omega? Intermecanica? Apollo? Let's see, they had at least one more name. The Vetta Ventura did not come as a roadster, so??
  14. Once took a foreign client to get his Texas driver's license. He did the driving test in his Testarossa. He passed and the DPS person looked happy when she got out. By all means, take the Stalker for the test.
  15. When I was in the motor trade, I always said, "First one with the money wins." Also never took deposits. Bring all the money or i kept trying to sell it. Money. That's just the way it is.
  16. OMG. Sounds just like Texas.
  17. The way I heard it, if the tooth brush was invented anywhere but Arkansas, it would be called Teeth Brush.
  18. Croc, We all know that Arkansas is more famous for inventing the Tooth Brush.
  19. Let's see. A Warton, or a v6 Stalker for 1/3 the price? Maybe that has to do with the "Marrakech Express."
  20. RHD Cat on BAT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-caterham-super-7-3/?utm_source=dailymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2019-09-21 Not only that, check out the Dino replica. I've seen that one. It's nice And the Ariel Square Four.. Only got to ride on back of one, Once. Sweet.
  21. Bob, I'll show my ignorance. What is that blue winged wonder? Mark
  22. "And the interior is particularly well finished off. Driver and passenger side airbags is a novel touch in a car where there is no impact protection for the fleshy stuff above the waist. Forget the airbags. It looks like it could use AIR CONDITIONING !!! Still 98 f in Big D.

  24. I always enjoy your photos. Thanks. Covered almost half of Lotus's road car history with those.
  25. Oh my. new cars being built with no air bags, roll bars, collapsible steering columns, etc. Plus, t:)hey have a high center of gravity, narrow track, etc. What are they thinking? Will some fools buy them? https://www.windingroad.com/articles/reviews/bentleys-iconic-1929-blower-to-be-reborn-in-exhilarating-new-series-a/?utm_source=Winding+Road+Weekly+Email+List&utm_campaign=3b0982d8fe-WR_Showroom_07-22-19_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f40212f51a-3b0982d8fe-57931065&mc_cid=3b0982d8fe&mc_eid=be2a685cc6
