  1. Hope the light at the end of the tunnel is all sunshine and curvy roads. Good luck with a happy clerk tomorrow.
  2. I certainly hope you were wearing a Santa Hat.
  3. "at some point I will want to replace the following: harness revert to original intake manifold setup tires (205/50/15 & 225/45/15 Toyo R888 currently fitted). might try the Avon ZZS in 195/50/15 & 245/40/15 unless anyone has better suggestion? I'll be interested what people say about running 245s on the rear. Seems it might be hard to get the car to rotate, though you would be able to power out of a turn.
  4. Congratulations and welcome to a bunch of nuts.
  5. Chin up, Lad. You have proven that you will overcome.
  6. OMG. Help, Admin, take down that post. What if an innocent person walked by and saw that! Maybe we should ask Facebook or Google for guidance on content rules.
  7. Wow, Croc must be serious about that diet. No mention of personal antifreeze. Watch out, if he's lost ballast, he'll be faster than ever.
  8. What size 7 was it for? If it could fit my very old Birkin, I'd take it. Can you measure from shifter opening to brake opening. Thanks, Mark
  9. Texas requires front plate. No issues without it for 7 years. Never stopped for anything, acceleration, LOUD exhaust...so my experience may not be typical.
  10. It looks fine on my PC, running Chrome.
  11. Sounds like a great Labor Day weekend. A clutch is just an accessory. Many stories of driving with no clutch. But, don't delay. A very bad side effect can be getting fluid on the pedals. Makes them slick as owl s it. Jealous in Texas.
  12. What CanAm car? Who's got a CanAm car? What is it???? :hurray:
  13. Hagerty also does track day insurance. Don't know anything particular about it. You may find someone who has done an SCCA track night in America. Hagerty does a lot of those.
  14. Looks like you should have been at the Monterey Historics.
  15. Only praise. I like it. Price seems low. You could not build it for that.
  16. Wow! 1915 ! More diamond plate than a Peterbilt, more wood than a Jaguar, a glove box. Since it is a diesel, I wonder if the pull-up on the gear shift is for a 2 speed rear end or hi-lo range transmission? Let it have a 10 speed Road Ranger.
  17. Cotacab, Maybe if yo ask nicely the seller of the red Cat on BAT would let you sit in his. Nice little drive through the hills to Fredericksburg.
  18. Yes, great screen name. Congratulations! We need more Birkin folks around here.
  19. I guess it all depends on how cozy you want to get. I am currently 230, 5'11" with an older Birkin, standard size. After some time adjusting the pedals, I feel fine. Plenty of lateral support. Find one to try on for size. If you travel any, maybe post plans here and stumble across a Caterham owner at your destination. I'm is Dallas (Hell Hole), but with a Birkin.
  20. Great tonneau. The piping and correct fit really do look period.
  21. "...got out for the Drive at Dawn...." Yeah, I like Hagerty for all the little stuff they have done lately. I sent the Dawn Patrol photo with the Birkin and look forward to the cap. I only went that early once at Pebble Beach (the mrs. can't handle such hours). 6:30 is really the only way to go. You can see each car without 50 people crowded around it. Later, it is so hard to get a complete view of something special. Bringing them over from the truck lot, and seeing most of them running is fun, especially if some nut like Michael Sheehan spins the Ferrari tires on the green. I do miss our little picnic and wine at the end of the ramp. Maybe next year.
  22. "Never been to Texas..." And believe me, you never want to come this time of year.
  23. They look non the worse for wear. Congretulations. Did you get to drive the Beemer at all?
  24. Ha. I know exactly when this was. The windshield wipers are kind of laying on the Brooklands, for my annual safety inspection. This was the first time without a full windshield, but my inspector didn't care. BTW the flag and chrome hat are for visibility in the Land of Giants. I'm as paranoid as the old BMW motor bikers. So, Vovchandr, are you local or visiting?
  25. "... I was soaked - trail of soggy clothes on the way to the shower." Does that mean the path to the showers did not stop[ by the beer cooler? Seems a bit out of character. Surely there is place to set the beer down while rinsing off.
