any chance you got moisture in the dist cap?

Job well done my friend. You put alot of detail in on that beast. That first drive is going to be so much fun. I bet you will be smiling for a week. Thanks for sharing with us.

After planning such a romantic proposal. I would just look like pathetic fool.

I like the Advanced Racing Suspension shocks. They are made in the USA and are great quality shocks. They can make just about anything you want. They are more expensive than QA1 or Jaz units. I haven't used the Jaz before but I have used the QA1s and prefer the ARS much more. Well worth the price difference to me.

There is no way that I am going to show that to my wife

Unimaginable, where do you begin the clean up?

I bet the blue white wire is the problem. If the ecu is on all the time then it will keep all codes saved. If you hook it to the battery switch it will reset the codes when you cycle the battery. I had the same problem on my first car. It turned out that it was getting a VSS code putting int in limp mode blue/white wire should fix it.

Just sold my GasGas 320. I hope to get another bike incrhe future my son is in a very active Boy Scouts troop so my weekends are pretty full and not enough time to ride.

The AEM has no limp mode so it will fix the issue. It usually is a wiring issue. I have done 5 of these and they all worked great with stock ECUs. I suspect you have a limp mode hung from the blue/white VSS signal on connector A. I bet it is plugged in the wrong spot. Removing the power will reset the ecu. Or if you have the obdII plug on your car a scan tool will reset the ecu. There was some confusion in the factory manual as to which view of the plug was used in the drawing pin side versus wire side. My previous instruction will show the correct view.

M worth a brother trials rider I see. Have you ever been able to get the car to go to 9k rpm? Does the vtec kick in when warm? Are you sure your tach is corretly calibrated? It is possible that it has a limp mode code in the ecu. Get the car warmed up. Then turn off the car. Remove power to the ecu. You can do this by removing the battery + terminal or disconnect Connector A on the ecu. It will be the connector with the fewest wires. Sometimes by turning the battery cutoff will not remove the power to the ecu. It depends on if the red wire on connector A is connected to battery power or thru the switch. Reconnect and then see if it will go to redline and Vtec. If not then check to make sure the blue wire with white strip on ECU connector A is in the correct location. It should be in pin 9 check picture below to see correct pin location. The drawing is from wire side view of the plug. This blue wire connected in the wrong spot will creat a limp mode issue which will limit rpm. Other things that can cause limp issues are oil pressure and water temp. Water temp to high or low will keep vtec from engaging. Low oil pressure can cause vtec problems. If you are getting vtec for more than 2-3sec then you are hitting the rev limiter (that last few thousand rpms goes by fast). Your tach is off calibration. If it doesnt go into vtec it should be very obvious. It is like hitting a nitros button or powerband on a two stroke motorcycle. If you dont get vtech you have a bad vtec solenoid or a wiring issue or limp mode in the ecu. Low oil pressure can cause vtec failure too. You would most likely have something more noticable going on. Call me and I will help you get that issue resolved. 325 650 7049. connector A 2.bmp

hope other states follow this example

Sounds reasonable. If they would just quite giving illegal aliens free health care free schooling with free lunches. Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps and housing assistance. Most pay nothing into the system. -
If you ain't got it don't get it. We run a pretty tight budget at our house. We rebalance every quarter. My wife is a great money saver. We run relatively debt free except mortgage. We are working on paying off 20 years early. We do without a few things not much though. We buy food in bulk. We have basic cable. We package phone, cable and Internet. I make my own fuel which saves me over a 1k a month. We are conservative with the house thermostat. My wife really sticks to her guns and she tells me no alot. I run both of my businesses the same way. I try not to borrow money. I am a firm believer in borrower is slave to the lender. My truck has 150k miles I will make it last for 250-300k. It is tempting to drive by the new car dealer and look at those nice new trucks but I don't miss sending them 800 a month. I follow most of Dave Ramseys teachings on money management the last few years it makes life much less stressful. Like he always says live like no other so you can live like no other. That is why I haven't finished building my Ultralite. It isn't in the plan but it is getting closer.

10 % annual fee on the governments appraised value. * * * * * The DC maggots at work ****************** Should some liberal scum bag like Schumer, or any other half-breed narcissistic "spread the wealth" moron ..... decide this is a good idea, the most resourceful bunch of individuals (Hot Rodders) on the planet, will make a little bit of tea getting wet by comparison. It won't take till 2012 to fix this bunch of government miscreants ..... bet me. **Senator Eyes Collector Cars as Revenue Source New York Times article Mar.28, 2011 Auto Enthusiasts who dodge taxes are in Schumer's crosshairs Washington, D.C. - AP. Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) held a press conference today in the Capitol's rotunda and stated that he is in the process of drafting a bill that will create a federal tax on all collector, antique, historic, special interest, hot rods and race cars. "This country is operating at a huge budget deficit," said Senator Schumer, "thanks to the previous administration's failure to seek new sources of revenue. We can no longer continue to just raise the taxes we already have. We are reaching the point of diminishing returns. We must find new sources of revenue. "There are more than one million collector cars in this country,"said Schumer, "and many of them are unregistered and untaxed. These vehicles represent sometimes sizeable assets which often appreciate from sale to sale. Much of these capital gains remain untaxed. It's about time these collectors—all of whom are rich—begin to pay their fair share. I've never heard of a poor person owning a Corvette, Ferrari, Deusenberg or Cobra." Citing the results of this year's automobile auctions in Scottsdale , Arizona as an example, where reported sales were in the tens of millions of dollars, Schumer said, "We're not talking about rusty old clunkers, here. Some of these cars represent the pinnacle of automotive history. Collectors who buy and sell them often do so privately. Some transactions are in cash and others include trades. All of these are under the Internal Revenue Service's radar. Well, that will soon end."Each state has different laws and requirements for collector cars. Those which tax them as personal property often use outdated values. An owner can pay taxes on a car the state determines is worth $5,000 and then turn around and sell it for $100,000 or more. Until now, all of this has been the purview of each state. Schumer's law will sidestep all state laws by levying a federal tax in addition to anything the individual states do. This new federal tax will be similar to the present federal tax on gasoline, which is in addition to whatever a state assesses. Part of the Schumer law includes the IRS opening up a special department to deal with collector cars. Values will be calculated annually and owners will be required to list all cars they own on their 1040 tax form. Because not all vehicles are registered, and thus may not be known to the individual states' motor vehicles departments—especially race cars which are not driven on public roads—the IRS will make use of the existing network of individual collector car enthusiast organizations across the country. Many of these car clubs maintain accurate registries which detail each car by its vehicle identification number and present or last known owner and their location. Assembling an all-inclusive federal database in conjunction with these registries will be one of the first steps in implementing the new law. Once the database of owners is cross-referenced with an annual index of current collector car values, every collector or race car in the country can be taxed at a fair rate. Initially, Schumer says, it will be 10% but that would rise depending on the type of car, number produced and condition. "Collectors are willing to pay more for certain cars," said Schumer, "because of their history or the small number that were produced. These factors increase a vehicle's worth to buyers, so why should these cars not be taxed at a higher rate? It's no different than our current progressive income tax rate." It is estimated that an annual 10% tax on all collector cars presently owned by American taxpayers—at their prevailing market value—would be more than $250,000,000. In four years the coffers of the federal government could be fattened by a billion dollars. "That's only a conservative estimate," said Schumer. "Nobody knows exactly how many collector cars are out there. But by this time next year, WE will know. Owners of these cars will finally have to pay up.Their free ride—on the backs of the poor—is over." * * * *

That is pretty impressive. I wonder how many hundreds of times it took to get that worked out.

Very good points

LMC does some great builds. I would love to go to his shop.

I would trade you. we haven't had a drop of moisture in six months. We are burning down here.

I think you guys that think these little cars cant handle big power have never been in one with big power. If done properly they handle just as good and give tons of umph out of the corners. John Meyers was the first Stalker with the LS3 v8 as far as I know and his car is a rocket. You don't place as well as he did in the Ultimate Track car Challenge and have a poor performing car. I think the total weight difference between the supercharged v6 and the aluminum ls3 was something like 50 lbs. He also won first place at Run & Gun by a sizable margin. A light weight v8 in these cars is just what you need for fun at the next level of performance. Maybe John will post his opinion soon. Hottcar is building LS7 stalker that should be in the 600 hp range. It is going to be a beast. I hope I get to ride in it at the 7s fest. A Indy car doesn't make alot of torque because they are very short stroke and high rpm and they keep the engine screaming to make the power. They don't need as much torque because they carry so much speed thru the corner. If they could have a 800 hp 18k rpm engine that makes more torque I bet they would take it. It sure doesn't seem to hurt Audi v10 tdi race car makes monster torque and runs half the engine speed of it's competition. They won just about every race they entered for several years. Just my worthless .02 opinion.

I would love a trip like that. I would be interested in more info and possible cost.

Sounds good Phil. I live in Texas but I have never been in the pine area of east Texas. I always wanted to have a reason to go. Now I do.

Apexi works fine on 04 engines. If you want a complete ecu swap that is plug and play Hondata is a hreat option. Remember Honda puts millions into their computer systems they are extremely reliable Hondata uses a stock Acura ecu and makes it tuneable plug and play for S2000. AEM would be my second option. But it comes down to what your tuner can do.

Maybe she was checking to see if he balls. I'm not sure he did.
