  1. S2000 motor isnt bad but the trans weighs 96 lbs. I think it is a nice package for the power and the reliabilty you get.
  2. Thank you. :flag:
  3. Like most people have stated feet size will be the limiting issue. I know that Brian Anderson the manufacturer for the WCM Ultralite has built some extra long foot wells to accomadate leg lenght but width tends to get narrower the deeper the well goes. There is not alot of room to add width because of engine width. The best thing would be build your own chassis but that doesnt sound like it is going to be possible. You might look at the Deman cars. They seem to have really wide foot wells compared to most 7s I have seen. I am not usually happy with my 8W feet but its great when you drive a 7.
  4. Slngsht you should have gotten paypal from me. Maybe post a list of people that you have received money from that way everyone can review it and make sure the order gets placed. That way everyone wanting a watch doesnt get left out. Buy the way I appreciate you taking on the collection and distribution logistics on this project. :hurray:
  5. I can stay comfortable down to 30 or so. After that it kind of ruins the fun. With limited traction spirited driving is a bit dangerous also no fun. We dont get salt here so that isnt an issue.
  6. OOOch that really hurts.
  7. Has anyone found any good books on suspension tuning. Preferably something written more recently. Most things tha I have found seem to be fromt he 70s or 80s.
  8. 5x4.5 bolt pattern is common. It is used on mustangs and some nissan imports 350z,300z so wheel selection is good. I would prefer the limited slip with a gear ratio that is favorable for your intended use over the IRS or straight axle. Straight axles are easier to set up and can run with an IRS all day. The down side is it can be a little heavier depending on the IRS unit used and has limited adjustability. The IRS can provide a little smoother ride but is more complicated to set up correctly. Be careful to check bump steer on an IRS if it is out of whack the car will handle horribly. With the added adjustability you can chase your tail a bit trying to get the handeling sorted. So pros and Cons to each.
  9. I use my car alot like you are talking about. I autox, road race, drag race, cruise in it. I leave the car the same for all events. I might adjust tire pressure but thats about it. Now it can certainly be set up better for each event to perfom bit better but I dont have the $$ to have four different sets of tires, shocks etc so I just run it like it is. As long as I have fun that is my main goal. If I happen to win then that is a really nice bonus. I have won a few events with this approach :jester:
  10. Sweet ride. It looks super clean. I Like it
  11. I have meet some of the nicest people and hopefully some good lifelong friends due to the 7. It is a fun car no matter what the make, It seems to be loved by yound and old, male and femal. It is a traveling converstation starter. Just plan adding a few minutes to most of your trips for the converstions you will get in to. Some of the folks that I have come into contact with due to the 7s community have had some of the more well know ecotics ie Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche etc. Say that the 7 garners more attention than all the others combined. I havent meet alot of the folks on this site in person but have a general feeling that I would get along with 99.9% very well. Of course people have one marque they favor over others, but you will rarely hear a disparinging word towards another. So get yourself a 7 and jump in on the fun. By the way there is a few members here from Ohio.
  12. Evil like the car. I saw that in Brians shop while it was under construction it is a nice car. I like the exhaust running under the car and out the back. Enjoy the car. Winter is quickly approaching for you guys hope you get to enjoy it before it gets nasty. LOren
  13. I would like to change my order to 2 mens watches.
  14. That would be great and probably reduce the cost a bit. I like the idea of shipping to someone state side then distribute. The shipping is almost as much as the watch.
  15. I would like 1. How do you want to collect the money. Do you have a Paypal account? Or tell me how to send the funds.
  16. Jean Ed your bad english is much much better than my best french welcome aboard. I love the watch. Do you have and estimate on the cost per watch? What kind of time frame do expect to get the watches finished? Loren
  17. Got ya. I think the 7s market in the U.S.A is booming thanks to the efforts of Gert, Bernie, and all the organizers here at the USA7s. The future looks bright for future 7 growth.
  18. Al Bernie has done a 7s festival for at least the last 3 years. That is where I got my first ride in a 7 that sold me on the car. If I hadnt have gone to that event I might not have ever gotten a 7. Bernie does an excellent job organizing the event and it is always a blast. Everyone that can attend in the future is missing an excellent time.
  19. 7evin will be there for a day or so. I will be going to PRI in Orlando in Dec.
  20.
  21. see told ya I didnt know anything . Thanks for straightening us up on the issue.
  22. Thought I would post a few pics that I got from the 7s fest. 23. When I got my motor dynoed NA in factory form it made 186hp. It is factory rated at 240hp. So that is about a23% loss. With a little tuning we got it to 198hp. But other guys have had the same tuning done and have gotten at much as 215 out of thier cars. So dynos and dyno operators vary by at least 10% from what I can tell. After supercharging our car we were making 296hp but other guys on the S2KI forum were reporting as hight as 320-340 range for the exact same set up. So I think it is a combination of tune, the engines themselves. Although all built in the same place with the same parts some just run better than others due to suttle differences. Type of dyno used/ gearing etc. Manufacture claims on hp gains rarely come to be reality. So the stock engine should be 170 minus 20% is 136. The cams look like they added about 11 hp at the wheels. So the cams added about 14 more at the crank which is where the manufacturer makes their claims.
  24. I drive my car 6-10k miles a year with those springs 600F/275R on every road type in the country with no problem. It is firm but not harsh. It does exhibit a limited amount of body roll but not alot as you would expect. I know of 5 other Ultrlites that run the 550-600 range as well. They are all used for track/street/autoX driving. Our front control arms are much shorter than the ones that I have seen on the Caterham, Stalkers, Birkins so we dont have the same shock ratio that alot of other cars have.
  25. yep
