  1. See you in NJ this fall for NJMP 7s?
  2. That's just the thing. Took the power probe to it. It wasn't live 12v, it also wasn't ground and alternator was already grounded. Hence I just left it alone for now. So far so good after a 5 mile test.
  3. 2024 bump?
  4. Alternatively trade somebody for a Zetec car
  5. I've seen a carbon fiber heat shield before. It's not commonly available but obviously something that can be done. Carbon shouldn't retain heat or be able to transfer is in a bad way (needs to be verified)
  6. Things are back together. Left the one "extra wire" off the alternator. Still not sure what it did but doesn't seem it was helping. Installed a volt meter and took it out for a first trouble free drive in probably 1.5 years now Volt meter is installed onto the windshield heater fuse for power. Seems to work alright.

  11. Maybe I need to try the 51348. Don't remember which ones I tried before I settled on this. I know some were far too long
  12. Wix51374 is what I settled on after trying a few out that don't fit by being too long etc.
  13. I saw it on the street!
  14. Still curious on this matter.
  15. EXCLUSIVE: GMA T.50 finally meets McLaren F1 | Henry Catchpole - The Driver's Seat Our 7's are obviously no F1's but there are certainly a lot of ethos being echoed in our cars in what makes those two great. Ever more so since we are roadsters or have an aeroscreen. While we aren't center positioned or rear mid engine, we are almost center seating with how narrow we are and we are front mid engined. Worth a watch and time to buy a lottery ticket, or two. The sound of T50 is amazing. Almost makes it sound straight cut for the gearbox. Had to double check to see if it's not, especially with Henry saying how it quiets in 6th.
  16. 6.5" can fit up to 245 I believe. Definitely 225.
  17. Make the dreams of these guys come true 6 years later..
  18. Also got this wall sign and a bit disappointed in it. Glad I didn't get the bigger one and spend more. It looked more glamorous in the pictures. It's a generic light box with a print over it. No raised features at all and the light bleeds through the black I like it but I had higher expectations. Would be happier if light didn't bleed through so much
  19. Haven't driven the car yet. Trying to catch up on all affairs and sort out alternator. In meantime more 7 related goodies arrived Jacket which is also sort of unobtanium.. tried to buy one off another member after he sold the car but he wanted to keep the jacket. Found this one in Australia and risked a small size when I'm typically an M. It fits but encouraged weight loss
  20. Yes loop circuit. Makes sense on both accounts. If it's ground that would make sense why my alternator didn't work last time as I connected both those terminals together on the alternator. Does the alternator need a ground? I believe there is a terminal for it. I don't think I'm combining those two again. I also don't think it's long enough to reach chassis as its ziptied together from before. Im fairly certain it goes on alternator somewhere, just not the same area as main power
  21. Right the one big red one goes directly to starter which looks to go to battery. It's the second wire I'm questioning It hides into the pigtail harness to the alternator. My pigtail only has two of 3 What does middle pigtail wire do?
  22. Since Ive been through some alternators already I want to make sure I do this right. I know typically alternator just needs the pigtail plug and a single wire I appear to have two wires that used to be wired up to it. I don't believe I have any before pictures but I do believe they were there together. Second wire hides in the harness. Anybody know what it could be? 2001 Zetec
