  1. Sat in a GT40 and found out I would need the "Gurney Bubble" on top of the door;) It's still one of the most beautiful cars to me.
  2. I'm going to try the joints the EvilRomeO used. http://usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?t=3624&highlight=EviLRome0 Will be while... have some other projects taking priority.
  3. Glad to hear I'm not alone. Since these are bare minimum cars I shouldn't be surprised at all the little noises. Just got to know the normal rattles/noises from the unusual ones. With the earplugs in (had some molded ones made at the Laguna Seca MotoGP races a couple years ago) the thing is addictive!
  4. Went out for a couple hours in the foothills this morning. With earplugs in it's a sweet ride. The car feels tight, the exhaust sounds good... I usally take out the earplugs a couple miles from home so I can hear if something's loose (habit from the shakedown days). Man, this thing can be a rattle trap. I need to change out the racing heim-joints for some teflon lined ones, lubing only goes so far... I think my fiberglass hood has changed some from the heat and now slightly touches the top of the engine adding some vibration/rattling. There may be something loose in my muffle too. Plus I have some work to do in eliminating openings between my footwell and the engine bay. It was cool out but I basically had the heater on. I guess it's mainly an image thing as I hate driving thru town at slow speed and hearing the rattles echoing off the sound wall or car next to me. Then assuming that the driver next to me thinks I'm driving a bucket of bolts. Well no one to blame but me for not getting out there and taking care of it. All a matter of priorities you know. Don't get me wrong. Like I said at the beginning, it's a blast in the twisties.. with my earplugs firmly in place;)

  6. Being the wuss that I am when it comes to creature comforts, like A/C... It would be a tough choice between a 7 and LS3 Miata if I was looking right now. Always liked "sleepers" .
  7. Wonder how much to polish out an aluminum 7;)
  8. One of the many downsides of California... could never register that thing.
  9. When I first got mine, it quit running in about half a mile when I spun out. I had all kinds of nightmares of what it could be... fuel pick up hose came loose from pump, in fuel tank. Looks like I was luckier than you. Though I did finally have to switch to a stand alone ECU to get things dialed in. Good luck. It'll be worth it.
  10. Boy, that's really a shame. You've done a lot of work to that car... someone sure is going to be grateful for all your work. Hope you can find another outlet for speed/excitement that doesn't hurt your back.
  11. Welcome... Don't mind us, as long as your happy. If you visit this site often you'll find we rarely make negative comments/judgements on other's cars. I think as no one owned it at the time... Though you should get a rollbar;) ,
  12. I do stand corrected on that

  14. I always think that if there is a "formula" for timing the market, then it would get screwed up if everyone tried using it. Kind of like those big swings because everyone's computer threshold has been met and then it keeps perpetuating itself. I'm part of a very large pension plan but can't help feeling my "experts" got screwed by Goldman Sachs experts.
  15. Obama Turns 50 Despite Republican Opposition WASHINGTON—After months of heated negotiations and failed attempts to achieve any kind of consensus, President Obama turned 50 years old Thursday, drawing strong criticism from Republicans in Congress. "With the host of problems this country is currently facing, the fact that our president is devoting time to the human process of aging is an affront to Americans everywhere," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who advocated a provision to keep Obama 49 at least through the fall of 2013. "To move forward unilaterally and simply begin the next year of his life without bipartisan support—is that any way to lead a country?" According to White House officials, Obama attempted to work with Republicans right up until the Aug. 4 deadline, but was ultimately left with no choice except to turn a year older.

    New Build

    really nice!
  17. I bought mine for commuting but I am having a hard time resisting some of those parts your car has... namely the Flying Miata suspension upgrade and chassis reinforcements. But a rollbar is first on the list.
  18. Another Classic.... Ever since I was a child, I've always had a fear of someone under my bed at night. So I went to a psychiatrist and told him. . . 'I've got problems. Every time I go to bed I think there's somebody under it. I'm scared. I think I'm going crazy.' 'Just put yourself in my hands for one year,' said the psychiatrist. 'Come talk to me three times a week and we should be able to get rid of those fears..' How much do you charge?' Eighty dollars per visit,' replied the expert. 'I'll sleep on it,' I said. Six months later , he met me on the street. 'Why didn't you ever come to see me about those fears you were having?' he asked. 'Well, eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10. I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went and bought myself a new car!' 'Is that so?' With a bit of an attitude he said, 'and how, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?' 'He told me to cut the legs off the bed! Ain't nobody under there now!'

  20. It's always find it kind of funny how cars like these, that get great gas mileage, can only be bought by folks who don't have to worry about the cost of gas.
  21. White Chassis? Brave man on more than one account.

  23. Don't know, but I was thinking that it was a residential development that tanked a couple years ago... that's the only way you'd see roads like that in California.
  24. I'd get so lost in those cones...
