  1. I stand corrected on the 911... was thinking performance. I obviously chose performance over creature comfort with the 7... don't we all And the Miata... well if I could of found one with a hardtop I would of gotten it. Doubt the softop will coming down anytime soon (as the A/C is on full blast). Remember that movie "Quigly Down Under" Selleck said he didn't like pistols, preferred a rifle... he never said he wasn't good with a pistol. I prefer a hardtop;)
  2. Larry gets schooled... again
  3. I'm not really a soft-top guy so the Cayman would be my first choice... but the Boxsters have been around a while so there's probably more options pricewise. I've heard it's pretty much ego when deciding on a 911 over the Cayman.
  4. I like the ones you have now... though sometimes we just need a change to keep things interesting. Go for it... your the one expressing yourself.
  5. Yeah, Honda did a very good job with the head and there's not much room for improvement there... only real options are supercharger & turbo. And realistically I would expect somewhere between 300 & 350 horsepower... though Kevin is up to 380hp I think. I was first looking at superchargers as it's cleaner & avoids heat issues (still may do it). But the turbo offers more options in how a driver might want the power to come on. My concern with the turbo is room/heat.... and the money to do it;) I think 300hp at the rear wheel will do me just fine. I'm really not into top speed; these cars get a bit sketchy up there.
  6. I'm surprised that I feel like I'm going faster (down the freeway) in the Miata than the 7. I thought the lowness, openess, firmness, etc... would make the 7 feel faster at freeway speeds. It might have more to do with the 6 speed (vs 5 speed), 3.9 rear end and 17inch wheels in my 7. The good thing is my commute is highly patrolled by CHP so low 60s is just right (and hopefully good on the gas too).
  7. After rebuilding my Europa, and seeing that I was basically protected by a 1/8 inch of fiberglass, decided to sell it to... soon after I found this place http://www.banks-europa.co.uk/cars_home_new.htm and wished I would of known about it before all the work I did. Might of kept it.

  10. You guys with big headlights ought to get a set of these and eliminate your turn signals. They're pretty bright in my 67 truck... bit pricy though (scroll down) might find cheaper elsewhere. http://www.itsasnapwireandcable.com/
  11. I had a piggyback unit (Apexi) for the stock ECU and was able to lower the VTEC... got similar results as yours. We're all in the same ballpark HPwise with a stock honda motor. Using the AEM, the torque is flatter without loss of power. It allows more fiddling, like timing, which the piggyback didn't. Not a big deal with stock motor, but I'm kind of working my way to a turbo.
  12. I didn't notice the use of black & white and selected color until about halfway thru...
  13. Here's my stock 2005 honda 2.2 with long tube header & short cold air intake (told I could get a few more ponies if it was longer)... 216hp & 152lbs of pretty flat torque (no VTEC surge). Funny how you have to resize the picture to trick the site in letting you post it a 2nd time.. unless there's another way.
  14. Wonder if you could put in GM's CARB approved Emotor kit (for hotrods) in it and be California legal?
  15. I like that top... my car is silver with tan interior & new tan top (with glass/defrost). It's pretty clean for the years & 135,000 miles... maybe could use a new carpet (haven't tried cleaning it yet and maybe door panels... seats are in really good shape. Sorry no pics yet. I bought it because of all the good comments on fun, reliability & cheap to maintain... hope that's the case.
  16. Looks like a great setup! Was the Look much cheaper than a Haulmark?
  17. I bought a 99 Miata for a commute car... though it's not an automatic Got so much of a rise out of some the last time gay & miata were in the same sentence, I couldn't resist;) .

  19. Danillo, We try not to get too negative about other 7 type cars on this site (or pretentious about pedigree). When it comes to price... a lot of us go for performance (and dare say looks) over heritage. Probably something Colin would appreciate. The main thing is we all share a passion for these bare bone cars and their basic design. Plus, we're commenting on a year old thread and it would be more interesting to know if Bster13 ever got one of these.
  20. It's pretty good at figuring your character out... http://www.akinator.mobi/us
  21. How do you turn a fox into an elephant? Marry It! What is the difference between a battery and a woman? A battery has a positive side. Why is the space between a woman's breasts and her hips called a waist? Because you could easily fit another pair of tits in there.. How do you make 5 pounds of fat look good? Put a nipple on it. Why do women fake orgasms ? Because they think men care. What do you say to a woman with 2 black eyes? Nothing, she's been told twice already. If your wife keeps coming out of the kitchen to nag at you, what have you done wrong? Made her chain too long Why is a Laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman? Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will probably never be able to support you. Why do women have smaller feet than men? It's one of those 'evolutionary things' that allows them to stand closer to the kitchen sink. Why do men pass gas more than women? Because women can't shut up long enough to build up the required pressure. If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first ? The dog, of course. He'll shut up once you let him in. Scientists have discovered a food that diminishes a woman's sex drive by 90%.. It's called a Wedding Cake. Why do men die before their wives? They want to.
  22. Hard to beat a Chevy small block for $per HP... it does kind of take away from the underdog status when you fire up a 7 with an 8 though
  23. Obviously there are no easy answers when it comes to the global market. But it does seem we shoot ourselves in the foot with our "free trade" agreements. There's definately no respirosity in many of them. It would also seem to be in our best interest (as a nation) to get back to more of a manufacturing base over a service base economy. There's kind of a double-whammy on workers too as labor is outsourced and technology is eliminating jobs. I'm not sure college is keeping up with what will be in demand... I think a business degree is going the way of a liberal arts degree. It's easy for me to complain but I don't really have any solutions.
