    7 T shirt

    Ran across this... http://koolart-usa.auctivacommerce.com/Dave-Deal-7-Race-Car-T-Shirt-4071-P388105.aspx#
  3. I came across this.. inflatable lumbar support. Looks promising & price is good. http://thmotorsports.com/corbeau/corbeau_seat_accessories_inflatable_lumbar/21004/i-176562.aspx
  4. I wouldn't know how to use a multimeter.. maybe one of those screwdriver looking things that light up if electricity is flowing. Luckily I have circuit breaker type fuses. I do carry a basic tool kit (including electrical tape) & fix-a-flat. I need to add a couple larger size allens. Probably should add duct tape, cable ties (a metal one too) and some velcro. It's funny, you look at the car... there's barely anything there, you can see everything and nuts have marks to show if they're coming loose, and you ask yourself "what could go wrong?" Then 50 miles from home, a fender bracket bolt vibrates loose/off, fuel hose in tank works it's way off, you hit a pothole and tear a suspension mount... hopefully not all on the same trip.
  5. Well you can use it as an ice chest until you get cold...

  7. Nice perspective... F1 is so fast it looks like someone hits the FF button as times. I can't think, let alone react, that fast. I heard a commentator say that one of the drivers teared up as he was winning and the tears were hitting his visor as he braked. The little guy on Top Gear took an F1 out and couldn't even get enough speed up to keep the tires warm.
  8. Probably need a windshield wiper on the inside as well... I'm really planning on a shade top like a lot of 7s have; it gets freakin hot here!
  9. Doubt there's many Ultralites set up like this. I do have the weather kit but haven't installed it (needs finishing/fit from upholsterer). Getting to the gas cap would be problamatic too. Actually looking at side protection rollbar and don't think both are compatable.

    Miata?

I bought a 2005 mini for my daughter. I like it but they're really popular, hence, kind of pricey and the first couple years had some teething issues from what I have read on their forums (closest dealer is 90 miles away). There's a couple Toyota MR2s for sale but I think they actually have less usable space than the miata and are a bit more $$. I'm leaning miata, probably around the 5 grand range. Not an automatic though, as that would be gay............ just kidding.

    Miata?

I've been considering the same thing for a 60 mile round trip commute (almost all freeway).

    crazy Russian

As a firefighter, and seeing the carnage, I waited until my mid-forties to buy a sportbike... thinking I'd be more "mature". The first six months I had some down right frightening moments. Got better, rode faster. And after 5 years, figured I'd beat the law of averages and sold it. Some of the most fun I've ever had but the cost for a mistake is too high for me (even on the track). I think the 7 is about the perfect replacement for me (and I can share the experience).
  13. Kind of surprised at so few Caterhams sold in the U.S. I was told that World Class Motorsports has sold 70+ S2K cars/kits...

  18. I've never seen anything like that.... reading some of the costs ($31 grand for the crank), I guess having to replace the piston rods every 120 hours is acceptable. This is definately one of those "money is no object" type of businesses.
  19. I know a many guys say there's no such thing as too much... but I'd like to have 300-320hp. Have a few "honey-dos" before I can save for a turbo or supercharger. Of course, once you get accustomed to a certain level of power you may crave more. I'd like to find out. .
  20. Yeah, I had the first DMV wanting to see my car. I think there was concern about people with built cars not getting a cert while other cars weren't even close to being done. Went to a different DMV as car wasn't ready but I actually didn't make the cut in 2008 as they went in a couple hours and drove on temps that year. I found another DMV (Shafter) that took all my paperwork in advance and told me to not bother coming in, they'd call me (a little scary). Luckily I was the first and on top of the numbered the pile. Got the call mid-morning. They were very nice.
