  1. I've been driving Lotus since 1969 - since, I learned that they are like a ZOMBIE they come and go. It's dead....it's alive ! ...like a lung fish
  2. I'm not too sure on the top one : start at the 2nd letter --RB343 ?? It looks like a Hitachi alternator. i googled rb343 but nothing...
  3. Honestly, If I have a real Lotus 7, I will go....but I don't. No reason for me to attend - chit chat and be snubbed...I don't belong there. just my opinion.
  4. Look like they didn't let them drink in the water fountain.
  5. Oh ok.... That will come back then --- has to be one of the sensors acting up: o2 - ait - map - coolant temp ?????????
  6. Well, when you change a map you enter a value and update the value. How will it fixes itself? The value in each cell (fuel & ignition maps) will not mysteriously changed without someone changing it.....unless you still have the "lucas prince of darkness" virus.
  7. Kawazaki H2 1,043cc Four Stroke Inline 4 Centrifugal supercharger 222+ BHP — ......but I think Hayabusa engine cheaper and I can produce more power in forced induction form.
  8. Yeah, we have to leave his post alone....no PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.
  9. xxx
  10. Swap gone bad!
  11. "I figured how hard can that be, 30 frustrating minutes later I was referring to my notes and photos." Hahahaha! compare to the rotary I did. This probably a car that live & die in the vacuum connections. One wrong connection of the vacuum, you are toast for the day looking for problem. What you see here in blue & in black vacuum hoses which we called it "RAT'S NEST" I must have a gazillion of pictures. This thing is worse than two plates of spaghetti. Hundreds of vacuum connections !! Let me see you put this back.
  12. Document it using your phone camera. Take a lot of shot -- every bolts & part you take out, take a shot. You will be surprised how much the pictures will help you during the re-assembling. Buy a zip lock - tape & magic pen. Put all the bolts & nuts in the zip lock and label it. Use the tape for the hoses & wires and label it. Buy a couple of 5 gallon home depot or lowes plastic pale and store your parts there.
  13. would be a nice project
  14. Since you checked all areas that causes to lean, the only thing I could think now is the dirty injectors that can't deliver their normal dose of fuel. Dirty fuel injectors can't flow as much fuel as clean ones, and they can't deliver the correct spray pattern that is so essential for clean, efficient combustion and the horsepower desired. The fuel feedback control system will compensate for the leaning effect once it is in closed loop, but it can't correct the underlying condition that is causing the problem.... check fuel filter too. What is the fuel pressure @ slight throttle? Yeah 18 is playing fire. I know you have a turbo too....very dangerous.
  15. How about you AIT (air intake temperature sensor) working properly? If the intake air temperature sensor is not reading accurately, the PCM may think the air is warmer or colder than it actually is, causing it to miscalculate the air/fuel mixture. The result may be a lean or rich fuel mixture that causes driveability symptoms such as poor idle quality when cold, stumble on cold acceleration, and surging when the engine is warm.
  16. Just in case you don't have AAA (no, not the alcohol rehab - lol) ...and happened to be at New England area (Vermont- Mass- RI -NH -- say within 60 miles away from Connecticut) and you get stuck, my trailer is available. The best I can do to help.
  17. My Westfield has a huge hood scope but scoop is only effective if you have a functional exit.
  18. Typical 6 cyl inline firing order is 153624 and in a given time, as far as the up and down motion, there is always a pair that goes up in down. To simplify it with my drawing below. Major reason a 6cyl inline has less vibration and well balance. hey you are into plane too huh? I built a Vans aircraft RV-6A from a kit. 360 cubic - Lycoming engine
  19. Straight 6 still the best ... but takes a lot of space. No wonder why my Datsun body rot first before the engine die. True with a straight 6 Jeep too http://www.roadandtrack.com/columns/the-enginerdy-dept-straight-six-revival?src=soc_fcbks
  20. https://tv.yahoo.com/video/donkervoort-gto-going-dutch-lotus-162555466-cbs.html
  21. So how's the s2000 performing?
  22. I finally revive my RX7 -- put an oil & anti freeze and see if it will start. Next will be my Datsun Z with Skyline engine. Too many project --- little time!
  23. Yeah! just like JIMRANKIN said....digital and peg or wot that pedal all the way to infinity! I did it once and I jammed it to 999 mph....what a ride! hehehe !
  24. Hmmmmmm, are we even allowed to drink in the fountain?
  25. CALLED AR-7 The owner is a fanatic prepper & no compromise in the race track & in the bayou.
