  1. Ansar Ali's original comments are on page 4 of the November "Caterham Life" e-publication, found on the Caterham web page -- or here: http://www.caterham.co.uk/assets/html/November_2007.pdf (1.4MB pdf file). When I read it, I thought some of the comments were a bit inappropriate, but I think the Blatchat community mostly overreacted. I saw Mr. Ali's comments as unfiltered sentiment from the head of an international company, and while I disagreed with some of what he said, I very much appreciated his straightforward honesty. His reply also surprised me, in that I did not expect one at all. I think it was a very good one, too. Ultimately, I see his original comments as only a misstep as opposed to a full-blown screw-up, and his reply as more than redeeming for that misstep. edit -- So, are you gettin' the Porsche?
  2. I have always been told something similar. But then, my younger brother was working as a scuba instructor at a resort where he was once asked, "What time does the seven o'clock boat leave?". Now I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but no matter how I look at it, that question is just plain dumb. For the record, without any hesitation my brother replied, "Four twenty-three a.m sharp -- don't be late, or you'll miss it!" He then turned and walked away while they pondered the answer. :ack:

  4. Hey! We might be neighbors! I too am only a half mile from FedEx Freight!
  5. There's a bunch of good ones at http://www.justgofaster.com/ in the "Training" section, such as: "The bias is 3% too much to the rear for this circuit" "Someone stole a valve cap and unbalanced the wheel" "My Intercooler vanes are bent" ...and others. I also like their IFG sticker, as well as the related gauge.
  6. The last item listed is: "2 Westinghouse Gray Twin Turbo Garage Lights" What the he77 is a "twin turbo" garage light? And exactly what shade of gray is known as "Westinghouse gray"? Gert, I'm not even going to ask what you've been buying at Costco recently. Marketing departments are rapidly taking over in this country!
  7. Just to clarify, no I do NOT work for or own stock in Costco. (But maybe I should?)
  8. Yes... but that's pretty much everything I know about it, unfortunately.

  10. You got me curious: Costco dot com GPS offerings edit -- I'm assuming you meant "Costco"...
  11. I have always enjoyed that film - still do. I too suspect some "artistic license" may have been used in its creation, but I try to ignore it. I mean, in reality, a hot chick like Snow White never would have moved in with seven dwarf miners either, but I try not to nit-pick escapist films.
  12. I was joking. A reference to some guy who calls himself Ru Paul. He's a really tall black transvestite whom I've seen on TV now and then (not sure which channel, and don't really care).
  13. Is that the 6'-4" black transvestite guy on TV all the time?
  14. I thought all you rich NY/NJ guys summered in Florida, anyway (?). edit -- "summered" above should have been "wintered" :banghead: (duh... )
  15. The Soft Bits For Sevens web page (Jill Judd's company), http://www.softbitsforsevens.co.uk/, mentions that Rocky Mountain Sports Cars, a.k.a. US Caterham, are now some sort of dealer/distributor for their products in the US.
  16. There is always the possibility that the owner of that garage was somewhere else when that property burned - perhaps he owns multiple properties (likely) - and so drove nothing out of there. If that is the case, I wonder which one he would have chosen had he been there?
  17. Do itashimashite (you're welcome) - there are lots more photos, so my wife made two web pages with the whole lot of 'em: http://web.mac.com/kyokopop/iWeb/Tokyo%20Motor/40thTMS-1.html edit -- link to 2nd page is above the banner at the very top of the first page
  18. Photos of 2008 Skyline GTR posted in the "Off Topic" forum. SR27.Seth - Please accept my apology for the unintentional thread hijack.

  20. Great! Not enough time to sort through photos yet though. This morning we are headed to a mountain resort in or near Hakone national park for the weekend. I hope to be able to post a few photos of the Skyline and Lotus 2-Eleven from the Tokyo Motor Show here on Monday.
  21. I will be going to look at the 2008 Skyline GTR tomorrow morning.

    Worn out

I've slept on that chair (figuratively speaking)! There's no better news than hearing from a doctor that your child's condition is getting better. Also, his reaction to the homework can only be a good sign.
  24. Corrected... I hope!
