  1. That store has a very picturesque location!
  2. I've seen Piloti shoes at Ross for twenty bucks even. Typically in the smallest and/or largest sizes only though. Also, Marshalls had Puma Drift Cats for $39.99 a while back - don't know if they still have them or not, but worth a look if you live near one.
  3. I read somewhere about using RTV Silicone to attach a good magnet to the inside of a front end (not a Seven), and doing the same on the back of the plate. That way, it goes on easily when you need it there, but there are no holes or brackets visible when you don't. Still haven't actually seen this, but sounds feasible. And I can envision a simple bracket on the back of the plate could adapt this method for attachment on a Seven nosecone easily enough.
  4. I find it humorously ironic that you titled this thread, "Whoever was guilty for the design of the Convertible top on my Cat 7 needs shooting" and then post this!
  5. I don't have a top at all for my car, which I now think is odd, because I have actually been referred to as a "deformed leprechaun" in the past at least once (that I know of!). ISYN* * "ISYN" stands for "I Kid You Not"
  6. Growing up, I most often heard it described as a "parking brake". Maybe that explains my usage of it.
  7. Spoke with a guy, mid-40-ish, as I was leaving work today who had parked his Cobra replica next to my daily driver. As I approached, the first thing he said was, "It's my Mom's car!"
  8. A friend of a friend told me that Puma Drift Cats were being sold at his local Marshalls* (So. California) for $39.99, and that some Pilotis were at his local Ross* for $20. I found the same shoes for the same prices in the same stores in Silicon Valley, but there was limited stock, and all size 10 and up. Check your local discount store first! *Not sure if they are nation-wide stores, but Marshalls and Ross are large discount clothing stores with multiple locations in California and at least a couple other states. Also, not sure if stocked items are uniform around the country... but it's worth a shot.
  9. Okay. Thanks for considering it anyway, Ian. Not really a "must have" item for me at all, just a "maybe someday"... And Dave - it just so happens that the only part of the weather equipment that my car was sent with was the hoodsticks, even though I overlooked weather equipment when ordering. Oh well.
  10. Caterham's online parts store lists the whole she-bang for £400 excluding VAT (REF: https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=155&osCsid=126432d6a443399148745e337da7ae44), which works out to a bit under $720 at recent exchange rates. There would still be shipping from the UK of course, but still likely to be under a grand total for brand new.
  11. Hmmm... I'll go ahead and throw out a "dibs" for now. Please PM me with asking price.
  12. 90°-100° highs around here all this week. No :7rain: forecast.
  13. Whenever I can't connect to Blatchat, I check the Caterham sub-forum on Pistonheads.com: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&f=101 Yup, it's down.
  14. Some Piloti models are Nomex lined, such as their "Monaco" shoe, which doesn't look too bad (maybe looks like something Marvin the Martian might wear): http://www.piloti.com/products/product_details.aspx?prod_id=200&prod_sku=PRO5-3
  15. Reminds me of the phrase, "We're all naked under our clothes"!
  16. I am almost sure he meant "Zetec"...
  17. Mine is done just like Gert's, but using a stepped O2 bung TIG welded into the same general area (forward-left corner of the lid). Thanks again, Doug!
  18. f***in' + widget = fidget!
  19. Agreed. http://7faq.com/owbase/ow.asp?ChassisNumbers
  20. http://www.carbon-bits.com has a small one in CF for £65 (currently about $130) + shipping. It looks like this installed: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/2008-07-20_01.jpg >>> edit: ...and like this by itself: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/7mirrors.jpg

    Now THAT's a big twin! http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2008/07/09/gunbus-410-cubic-inch-v-twin-motorcycle-completed/

    Just wow

I guess $85M worth of sporks require 'round-the-clock security. My joke would probably be a lot funnier if it wasn't MY tax dollars being accounted for so sloppily...
  23. Well, if the light stayed green...
