  1. ONABLAT - the license plate on my Caterham. http://www.britishv8.org/Other/SkipCannon/SkipCannon-A.jpg
  2. Quoting myself from a 2008 thread on color:
  3. Its amazing they survived at all! On lighter note, a Ducati 1200 Multistrada came within 7 seconds of taking the overall time up the mountain with a time of 9:52.819. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=26162&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=html&utm_campaign=2012-8-13
  4. That looks a lot more accurate than the Unisyn. Prior to that we used a piece of hose held to the ear to balance by the sound of air rushing into the carb.
  5. What did you use to balance the carbs? I used to use the Unisyn back in the day. It took two of them to balance the carbs on my early 911. What are Misab plates?
  6. Great news, enjoy the rest of the driving season.
  7. Apparently the ancient custom of drinking the salt peter spiked beverage has fallen by the wayside. Fortunately the ancient custom of competing in the nude has fallen by the wayside.
  8. Well, uh, yes of course! You have to come to Colorado to drive the Caterham.
  9. A slave call girl from Sardinia named Gedophamee was attending a great but as yet unnamed athletic festival 2500 years ago in Greece. In those days believe it or not the athletes performed naked. To prevent unwanted arousal while competing, the men imbibed freely on drink containing saltpeter before and throughout the variety of events. At the opening ceremonial parade Gedophamee observed the first wave of naked magnificent males marching toward her and she exclaimed: " OH!! Limp Pricks!" Over the next two and a half millennia that morphed into " Olympics".
  10. I'm going to be there but I am not bringing my Se7en. I'm flying in on the 14th and renting a car.
  11. I believe it is staying in Colorado and in the LOCO club.
  12. Flyin Miata took over the Cosworth blower and worked out the problems. They now have the exclusive rights to it for Miatas and sell the kits. Cosworth bought a lot of Miata owners new engines because of the problems. Mazda had a Whipple type supercharger on the 929 model. I believe it was a Miller cycle engine. The Mazdaspeed Miata was a factory turbocharged car sold in '04 and '05 with a rather anemic 153 WRHP. I bought one of them new when they first came out. It was a disappointing car and I sold it with only 3,500 miles on it. They do make a very good base for the LSx conversions that Flyin Miata does.
  13. I stand corrected, the wetware and internal hard drive aren't what they used to be.
  14. Beautiful car Chuck, how about some more pictures? Welcome aboard.
  15. Eric, did you get any pictures of the Eleven?
  16. The XI used a Seven frame with a few modifications for attaching the body and strengthening it for competition. The Elan's structure bears little resemblance to the Seven's. IMNSOH the XI is the best looking car ever built by Lotus.

  19. I have the Cage bar on my SV which replaced the FIA bar and IIRC Ben at Caterham USA said was identical in size. The main hoop is 1.5" and the diagonal X-tubes as well as the rear supports are 1.25".
  20. FYI. I think the start time may be Eastern Standard Time, but don't quote me on it. Check your Local listings. http://espn.go.com/espntv/onair/index?start=7-29-12-6:00-PM It's also scheduled for 8:30pm on 7/30. http://espn.go.com/espntv/onair/index?start=7-30-12-4:00-PM

  22. The de Dion may be rude but it makes up for it in ride quality.
  23. After the first 1,500 miles the stainless rock shields on the rear fenders looked like they had been in a war zone. I had them covered with bedliner and at 14.5k miles they look like new. The clear bra around them has taken a beating but looks much better than an area at the bottom of the fender which didn't get covered which has almost no paint left on it. Next time I will have the bedliner applied directly to the fender in a slightly larger area than the rock shields. There are a few cuts in the nosecone clear bra from sharp edged rocks, one even went through the paint to the primer.
  24. Alaskossie and Bsimon were there. I encountered a number of the cars in the mountains near Leadville and thought it strange that all the Se7ens I saw had Euro type license plates, were loaded up with baggage and many were RHD. This was pre-Se7en for me, I was in my Miata that day.
