  2. From one crossflow owner to another trying to sell their cars, I've always thought your car was gorgeous Mike! Best of luck with the sale and it's a stellar price! If you end up selling for $22.5k, I may have to come down a bit on my price!
  3. I've had good luck with lasso straps: http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Towing-Auto-Hauling/Wheel-Nets-Auto-Car-Tie-Downs/Lasso-Strap-2x10-with-O-Ring Just watch out for the valve stem!
  4. Price drop to $19,900
  5. Any word on how much weight the supercharger adds?

  8. Wow! You're quick! This is my car. I plan to take proper pictures this weekend. I hate to sell, but the money will go a long way in the down payment of our new house. I'll be back to 7 ownership as soon as I can save up the cash again. I can answer any specific questions anyone may have.
  9. In addition to the suggestions above, have a look at the alternator wires/connections. The heat from the header on a xflow tends to degrade the wires/connections over time.
  10. It could be the shock settings. Is your car fitted with SPAX dampers? I have trouble setting mine - either too soft or two hard. How about tire pressures?

  12. I understand the issue of driving glove material vs. wheel leather and their compatibility... I would recommended heading to a proper outfitter than can suggest a good racing glove compatible with your steering wheel. In case of a fire - leather gloves can shrink. Anecdotally, I've heard they can break your hand!
  13. Beautiful clubman! I've always had a soft spot for the 4age - especially the sound. Are those leather gloves you're wearing?
  14. the webbers do have said nipples. The other thing you can do is buy some tubing and listen to the pitch of the hissing out of each hose.
  15. Colortune http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=colortune+carburetor&_sacat=0&_odkw=sync+tool&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 I much prefer the snail type sync tools: http://www.piercemanifolds.com/product_p/ste%20sk.htm you can probably get the colortune for less than $50 - so you're looking at less than $100 for tools you should be using every 6 months or so.
  16. Here's a couple of thoughts, but my best guess would be moisture somewhere. Timing: Check idle and advance. Plugs - look for raw fuel and try to isolate a cylinder Check your venturis - they may be loose. Check jets for blockage and float height. Fuel Filter I don't think the fact that it ran great for a while and went back to sputtering completely rules out moisture. There could still be moisture left somewhere...
  17. Ouch! Glad you're alright and nothing happened to the fuel tank. I wonder if a spare tire would have helped or hurt your cause. Another bright side of this is that beautiful aluminum nose is not damaged!
  18. Give Porterfield a call. I'm guessing the R4-1 may be better for your application. It's supposed to be better for lower temps, I'm not sure about dust though. There are also a few options here: http://www.ctbrakes.com/brake-compounds.asp Bobcat 1521 or the 913 kelated metallic look like reasonable options.
  19. As much as I hate suggesting it, you may be able to use tire treatments. If you're not racing competitively, there are tire treatments than can revive tires, but they're banned in almost all forms of racing and can be pretty nasty to work with. You also may want to check with your local track as some tracks do not allow the use of tire treatments on their racing surface.
  20. You may want to be careful as those sideways are REALLY small. That means minimal ground clearance. Tire Rack is still selling the HTR T4 - which offers better all weather performance at the cost of dry weather performance - in contrast to the HTR 200
  21. twobone: check your distributor type - I'm guessing you have an Aldon. Aldon's can be sent back the UK for recalibration. Caterham chose a strange advance curve. Roger King recommends: 14' advance at idle (900rpm) advance starts ramp up by 1000rpm 34' advnace achieved by 4500rpm
  22. While legrand is most well known for DSR's (as shown), they've also made formula cars (Formula Ford, F5000, etc). In addition, they used to sell prints so one could make their own legrand chassis.
  23. It's a bank holiday in england today - good friday. The bank holiday for the royal wedding is next Friday
  24. Except Team Lotus switched from Cosworth to Renault Power this year. The question is whether this is a move to gain legitimacy, a back up plan or something else?
  25. Sorry - I meant the others on track. I was by no means talking about JR's driving ability.
