  7. If you want to come see an 89 Caterham in Mississauga, send me a PM. She is not for sale, but we can go for a spin and you can get a feel for ownership.
  8. Hi, I'd like to baseline the timing on my crossflow. Can someone either describe the technique or else point me to another post or web site. I understand I have to get a timing light and adjust the distributor in the block, but thats all I understand right now. Thanks

  10. Had a great day on Saturday with the local chapter of the Lotus club. more pics are here: Biggest surprise of the day: -Oh my, these guys like to drive hard. We hammered around the local "b" roads at a really good pace. Best find of the day: -River road....10 miles of winding roads off the beaten track. A new favourite road for me! Best smell of the day: -Following an Esprit and sucking in the fumes...tasty The car got home alive, although she needs a tune up I think. Great day and a nice bunch of guys
  11. I like it too. The car is a hot rod and the paint reflects the spirit of the car
  12. There is a screw attached to where the cable links up to the carbs. It mechanically regulates the difference in relative throttle position. Send me a PM with your e.mail and I will forward a diagram.
  13. Just a quick double check. Is this an Ital axle? I have yet to check the gear level. Do I just unscrew the filler on the face of it and fill with oil until it starts to dribble out? I know the original specs call for 0.7 ltrs but I've also read to put in as much as possible. Also I read the little plastic thing is an axle breather. Good thing I did not use it as a gear oil filler. Any other advice for a newbie?
  14. I used a number of different site suggestions to diagnose the rough running. A tweak of the carb balance made a huge difference. I think I will invest in a carb sync guage to get it even more accurate than my ear. One item that I think will take more work is a strange sound coming from the very front barrel of the forward Weber. Its a loud slirping/sucking "thwacka-thwacka-thwacka" sound. Anyone had a weber with this? I wonder if this is also a sticky needle? I imagine the sound as some kind of imbalance in the vacuum-fuel delvery process. Any ideas? The other barrels have a much quieter ticking sound.
  15. Tune
  16. Hi One of my two webers sounds a bit gargully this morning and the car is hesitating in the mid range Am I best to use the "low speed idle" adjustment techniue to try to adjust the one (of two) carbs back into
  17. If I was a rich man, I would most definitly buy this car and keep it in my living room over the winter and drive it like a madman in the summer. Amazing car
  18. Suitably impressed!
  19. Thanks 11Budlite. Went ahead and ordered 26mm ram stacks and the little doo-hickys that hold them in from APT. Cheers
  20. http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=512 Standard Height Velocity Stack - fits 36-40mm DRLA & IDF (1 5/8" tall) Is the bolt pattern the same as a DCOE?
  21. Hi Skip. They bolt thru the stanchion hole. You do have to drill/boreout a wider hole in the stanchion and the body to 3/8th of an inch I beleive. The end of the mirror has a threaded end that bolts idirectly on the inside the chassis. The mirror comes with the correct nut.
  22. Love the part where it is folowing a GT3 and it leaves a long set of treadmarks http://www.manikllc.com/gotland_promo.html
