    Bc 7s gathering

I just realized that it could have been called something like the "7 BC primitive tour".
  2. I get the same thing when I drive the M100. Styles may change but good design is timeless.
  3. Yep.
  4. Years ago I spoke with one of the few American WWI aces. He told me that if you had an engine that lasted 7-10 hours "you had yourself a honey". Combat, caster oil poisoning, fragile machines... Those guys had guts.
  5. At Barber Motorsports Park they required Se7ens to have arm restraints for both the driver and instructor. Good idea having a full check. I had a mechanic, who prepares vintage racingers, check my car over. Many Elise drivers seem to think that they don't have to check their cars for track days. Some have been disastrously mistaken. A good analogy between track days and normal driving is shown by the cam belt tensioning requirements for a Lotus Esprit, every 3,000 miles or every track event.
  6. Se7en makes the list http://jalopnik.com/5609161/ten-old-cars-that-look-new/gallery/
  7. Nice gear shift arrangement. Thanks.
  8. I used to run short stacks with K&N filters in my Elan. I pulled the filters out as far as I could toward the bell of the horn. When I put a stock set up back I was concerned with how close the horn was to the air box wall. I never could feel any difference but I didn't do any testing. Apparently the modern thinking is to dispense with the horn and just have a radius. I use that on my Se7en which has SU carburetors and pancake air filters. I got mine from http://www.aptfast.com/ you might want to talk with them.
  9. Jerry; Thanks, you are an OK guy even if you are a snoot elitists
  10. I am trying to build my super workshop (well a 1 car attached but it now has an epoxy painted floor, painted drywall and decent lighting). I want to plumb in shop air. Does anyone have any hints? At the moment I am planning to put up 1/2" galvanized piping. I will be doing some painting but not much.
  11. Did you cover the Cloroplast with something or did you get it that color? What do you do with the edges to seal them?
  12. Oddly there are some K&N filters that you can order online directly from K&N that their dealers cannot order. I did this for my M100. They were also cheaper than listed by my local auto parts store, that couldn't order them???
  13. Good luck with the car show. The car looks good. Hope you can start driving it soon.

A friend reports that yesterday when he made his hotel reservation 160 rooms have been reserved at the LOG hotel. I quick count of rooms based on their floor plan shows about 260 rooms. The up side is that there should be plenty of people and plenty of interesting cars.
  15. I would like a pudding head helmet and goggles. I just need to find some goggles that look vintage that can fit over my glasses. Can't cost a fortune either.
  16. Those pictures look suspect to me. I want a new 340R type for the street. A new technology 7, having much of the feel of a 7 without being a copy.
  17. Yum!

OK, I know a Se7en doesn't have much luggage room but... Please bring your Lotus and or Se7en related memorabilia, pictures, models, art, crafts, children's art to LOG 30. Help me out. I lobbied hard for turning the arts & crafts competition into a gallery event. There will be some interesting stuff (objects de art, factory drawings, models and more) for all to experience but we (the attendees of LOG) need your submissions to help make this an awesome, fantastic, spectacular event.
  19. That's a scary picture. Guys scratchin and a tuggin in the background.

The latest issue of Lotus Ltd’s bi-monthly magazine REMARQUE arrived at my door today. It has the LOG registration form, and reminds everyone that now is the time to reserve a room at the hotel and get that registration form filled out and in the mail. The registration form and more, such as descriptions of the meal choices… can be found at http://www.lotuscarclub.org/log30forms.php E.g., “Our Saturday buffet will include a selection of ham, fried shrimp, baked lasagna, sliced turkey with trimmings, salad bar, dessert bar and beverages.” Yum. I’m already getting too fat to fit into the Se7en. I urge you to attend LOG 30. Thirty years of an annual car event is hints that it is something special. I love it and have missed only one LOG since 1991.

The 46th National Apple Harvest Festival is taking place the weekend of LOG http://www.appleharvest.com/ It is about 10 miles from Gettysburg. An antique car show is part of the festivities. Yet another reason to include the spouse and children.
  23. I keep thinking I want to go to this event. It seems overwhelming. How about a write up of what its like?
  24. Lots of Se7en activity in and around Ottawa
  25. Should we try and set up a forum at LOG about building or titling cars? There aren't many other places where so many Se7en people get together.
