  1. We need a meet where there is a side event involving shooting. Then you can supply targets in the shape of SUVs, Porsche and other undesirables.
  2. I never could understand the attaching a 2" roll bar to a .75" frame member.

    Hello !!

NYC has a very weird car culture. Good luck and have fun.

    Sky Trucks

The big piston engines and the planes the powered are wonderful. When I worked at P&WA as a firefighter I found out that had many old engines stored away in large canisters. The canisters could be moved by forklift and stored outside. Pressurizing them with dry gas seemed to keep the engines in very good shape. I believe they all went to http://www.neam.org/
  5. Actually there are a few who make long distance trips. Some on a regular basis. There was one Lotus Seven that made the trip from Colorado to Pennsylvanian for LOG30. A group is getting ready for an Ozark tour. People are planning an east coast to Las Vegas road trip for LOG31. Tony V. will drive his Se7en anywhere. Remember there are probably more BMW bikes sold in the USA each year than there are Se7ens.
  6. I recall reading about one zoo elephant that used to wait for ducks to come and eat next to it. It would then step on them. After it started painting it no longer stepped on ducks. The previous makes the following one of the world's funnies jokes. Q. Why do ducks have webbed feet? A. To stamp out forest fires. Q. Why do elephants have flat feet? A.To stamp out burning ducks.
  7. Aluminum nose... Very cool http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/12/06/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1962-lotus/
  8. Interesting car. There is a lot of engine packed in the front. The shorty exhaust is odd. I would be afraid of CO poisoning due to airflow. To my eyes the Lotus 340R is the best reinterpretation of a Seven.
  9. Depends on what parts I can wrangle. I hope a full dashboard restoration.
  10. You need to build Stiglet a rocking Se7en.

    nice...

    Can Franken7 do that?
  12. Try http://www.lotusenthusiasts.org/Home.asp they are NJ based and have some fun now and again. There is a big NJ car culture, it is just hidden.
  13. In one of the video interviews posted by Golden Gate someone said that the front ends were based on the Seven.
  14. Where is "the area"?

    Updated Se7en

Now this is my idea of an updated Se7en. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs576.ash2/149822_167164279968052_100000234430495_475919_6530489_n.jpg If only Group Lotus and Lotus Racing could team up and get a car like this produced.

    A good lesson

    Ah... teacher mind games.
  17. Yes. I would like to see some more pictures. Is that candy apple red? Is that an aluminum nose? Is it chrome trim?
  18. Interesting but horrid looking IMHO. Some LOGs ago Panos put on a factory tour for us. It was very much a garage type operation. A huge wonderfully well stocked garage. Shortly after they announced a new car model.
  19. I've seen a Morgan trike "raced" at Lime Rock. The driver was having a good time but stayed in the very center of the track. They certainly look like fun in much the way an old style Se7en is fun - that is not that fast but totally involving to drive. My wife & I sometimes hang out with the Moto Guzzi owners. They are very appealing bikes. Very Lotus like in some of their philosophies (parts availability, dealer service...)
  20. Except for nostalgia I don't understand 3 wheelers. They seems to combine the worst of a motorcycle and a car. In a side car configuration the have very odd handling. In a tricycle configuration they are vile handling and dangerous. In a reverse tricycle? When a motorcycle tows a trailer you have a bad handling car. When trike tows a trailer it is even worse, you end up with a bad handling tractor trailer. I saw such an abomination on the tail of the dragon. Shades of "If you give a pig a cookie".
  21. I've found some cool and not so cool stuff online http://turnalarm.com/index.htm http://macsautoparts.com/model-t-turn-signal-flasher-12-volt-3-prong-type-beeps-when-not-shut-off-a13350-12beep/camid/MDT/cp/JS0R3CHL1140358/ http://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product377.html http://www.jcwhitney.com/extra-loud-electronic-turn-signal-beeper/p2002171.jcwx I guess I will visit radio shack tonight but the plug in flasher beepers seem totally cool
  22. I am tired of riding down the road with my turn signal flashing. I want to install something that makes a noise (beep beep beep) when the turn signal is on. Preferably something small and light that allows the volume to be adjusted. I currently use a trailer controller to allow a two filament bulb to handle running light, brake light & turn signal duty. Please note that I am one of those insane keep it original folks so I want something that I can wire in and stays hidden. Does anyone have a suggestion?
  23. I have decided to go with either 1/2 or 3/4 galvanized pipe (it all depends on cost). According to what I have read you need a minimum of 25' of run to let the air cool and water vapor to condense. At that point I will plumb in a water separator and regulator followed by feeds to my drop points.
  24. The generic engine stands I have seen bolt to the engine block at an engine mount. The engine can then be spun around that point so you can work downhand on either the top or bottom.
