  1. I like the circuit except for turn 2. To my sensibilities it is tough to know where I am and where I need to go. It has very good facilities. They keep them that way be being sticklers for proper disposal of fluids, garbage...
  2. For Sale - Indy 500 Tickets I have two ticket available. Unfortunately we are unable to attend Tickets are for May 24, 2015 and have a face value of $109. $200 will take both of them. Location: Paddock Section: 25 Row: SS Seats: 3 & 4 http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.../ticket-prices
  3. Good luck. What color?
  4. It looked slow. The secret to being fast. Good job.
  5. All the best. Recover quickly.
  6. I still play with free flight model airplanes. Rubber powered.

As a kid I had that setup on my bicycle. Now I have seen a decal of Calvin pissing on a Lotus symbol. It was on a Formula Ford. I forget what brand.
  8. Consider using a line lock for the "parking" brake. Assuming that you only want one to get through inspection it could be the lightest method. I first came across this on a fire truck. Get to the fire, stamp on the brakes, set the line lock. The wheel chalks could be added later for an added measure of safety.
  9. I currently lives near a friend of mine. It would be a fun car. Driving, racing, concours... it could do it all except maybe touring.
  10. I had or played with 9 of the above. What I miss most is the red plastic motorcycle that was one of the common toys in kindergarten.
  11. I had a similar issue with my series 1. I had mistakenly assumed that the correct U-joint was from a sprite. A local drive shaft shop was able to find a replacement. I see 3 from http://www.machineservice.com/products/universal-joints/universal-joint-dimensions-parts-catalog/ 50701000XMS OSR 0.938 2.411 61-B OR 1100 50701000 5-101XMS OSR 0.938 2.411 1100 5-101X, 1-0300, 340, CP101X 5-111XMS OSR 0.938 2.411 1100 5-111X, 1-0300, 341, CP111X, 5-101X, HS194, GU500, 114-581 1 from http://www.drive-lines.com/ujs/bpujs.php It seems unlikely that all 4 were squeezed the same amount. Good luck.
  12. Engine rebuilds are expensive! Rebuilding my BMC A engine was many thousands of dollars over what I expected. It is not cost effective to rebuild an engine for a daily driver. Most of the rebuild marked has been priced out of the picture.
  13. As of yesterday 320 tickets were sold for the reception. This should be a big event. More acceptance of Lotus in the AACA would be a great boost for restoration of older cars.
  14. Try asking that question on lotus@se7ens.net. Also; someone there will probably be interested in purchasing the original.
  15. It appears that there will be a LOG 35 assault on Pikes Peak. That will be fun. I think we will give ourselves an extra day or so to acclimate to the high elevation. Being hazy on that road probably isn't a good idea.
  16. Seems OK for a big rebuild. The days of cheep rebuilds for any engine is over.
  17. It looks a bit like those three wheel do everything motorcycles that so many companies are trying to flog.
  18. Lotus had a line of heated cloths to go with the 340R.
  19. Nice looking car. I like the Lotus spec wheels.
  20. I'm interested although my schedule is already tight for 2015. If it becomes a track rat gathering I'm not interested. Suggestions for events are: blind driver, skid pad (they have a great facility for that), auto-X, poker run, hotdog/tennis ball grab..., gimmick rally, technical sessions on sheet metal, fiberglass, electrical, history of the 7, car show, meals at interesting places.
  21. Log 26?
  22. Sleek black beauty
  23. The previous two issues have had articles on a very nice Seven.
  24. I thought Elan transmissions were a medium green. Mine has remnants of a that color. Good luck.
  25. I can't answer that however I suggest you also ask about the transmission color. The car looks wonderful as it is.
