  1. Caterham & Lotus make the list. Yea! http://www.cartalk.com/content/ten-best
  2. Thanks for the link xcarguy. It would be great to have the car (and the woman) at a 7 meet.
  3. Power corrupts.
  4. For those who don't know Mark; he is a long time Lotus guy.
  5. I've seen some pictures of this beaste before. Does anyone know where it hides or who owns it?
  6. +1 I always wonder why nobody hunted these people down and took vengeance.
  7. Amazingly small and light. They can also be powerful. The only person ever seriously hurt at a LOG was driving one of those. A fast car with narrow tires on a dirty road can spell disaster.
  8. As a working definition I would think that any course where a 7 couldn't get above 50 mph is tight. Autocross style.
  9. I can beat his RT
  10. Check with the local rental company before assuming you can rent a trailer. I tried to rent an open trailer from U-Haul to tow with my Ford Ranger (5,000+ lbs tow rating). I wasn't eligible. Their manual would not let them rent an open trailer to someone who was going to use a Ranger.
  11. I like the story about the new"er" Cadillacs. Supposedly magazine testers were throwing them off track when the automatic shifted during at the limit turns. An engineer suggested programming the transmission to hold off shifting when the lateral G load was above a preset value. Management scoffed at the idea; to which the engineer stated that the cars already had a G sensor.
  12. She seems to be a natural at epee. I'm hoping to fence her to pick up a few pointers.
  13. Thrilling to see a line up of chassis like that.
  14. What would you do in place of the BB! grill?
  15. I guess a Ferrari on top of Cameron Diaz would have made more news.
  16. 60+ years of experience developing a car should have helped a little. Given the number of people who have successfully developed their own 7's make this statement seem a bit odd.
  17. Morph the flag into a "7" and remove the word "Mogran".
  18. I'm down to 1 out of 4. The ones I'm looking for are just a tiny truncated cone with no flanges... Definitely not finishing washers. Similar to Tinnerman but without the shoulder.
  19. Washers for counter sunk screws; what are they called and where can I find them? I want to place them between the counter sunk screws and the parcel shelf (trunk floor?) in the back of my Seven.
  20. I think the Porsche problem is really a German problem. It seems that Germans can't believe that they ever produced something that isn't perfect. Hence VW valve seal issues that run from the 1970s through 2000s.
  21. If a group of folks were going I could easily be talked into attending.
  22. I use a featherlite motorcycle trailer. I added airline track for easy of adjusting tie down points and plywood to spread the point load.
  23. If we get there with our 7 it will be with a trailer. There is no way I could bring myself to drive ours all that way. We will need to coordinate stuff as the event gets closer.

We attended the New Kent Winery car show last weekend. Only 4 Lotus (Elise, Esprit S4S, Elan S1, Seven S1) but a nice variety of lesser cars. The local AACA show is coming up this weekend in Pungo at the Fighter Factory. October will have Dennis Gage of the My Classic Car TV show at the Virginia Fall Classic show in Newport News.
  25. Yep. To me it looked like the Porsche lost it (on part of the track that scares me) before it hit the deta wing. This kind of thing is part of the hazard of racing with multiple classes in an open car. I don't like the idea of being on track with vastly different cars, speed, protection. Fortunately it looks like everyone was OK.
