  1. Plenty of Caterhams present:
  2. Interesting range of cars: This Porsche was well driven, demonstrating every lap that it was one lift off from heading off track. Driver was pretty skilled, pity he had no idea of any cars around him or in the rear vision mirror
  3. An October 2019 update with a return to Donington, this time with more power and a 420R. Running the National configuration this time, no extension with hairpin to create added length needed by the GP cars. Sadly, the Donington Collection of GP cars is no longer. Museum is closed and the cars have mostly been sold off. So sad. It was an amazing collection. Photos of the museum from my last visit there are contained in this thread: http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?9660-On-Track-with-Croc&highlight=Silverstone Bookatrack is now rebranded as Want2Race now that it is part of Ginetta cars Still have 3 rental Caterhams but they are Academy cars, not a bad thing at this circuit given its momentum nature.
  4. Anyone want to take a bet that it will be sold within 6 months?
  5. We have a winner!!!! Bonjo2 gets a trophy for that one.
  6. I have seen it before somewhere - that paint job stuck in my memory. It may have been when TMW were selling originally?
  7. NEW Westfield luggage rack - for those Home Despot runs. Certainly improved the aero in that photo. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16046&stc=1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Westfield-ST2-Boot-Luggage-Rack-Black-Finish/183926188104?hash=item2ad2dae848:g:Il8AAOSw-q9dXRse Diva https://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-Lotus-Super-Seven/113920894159?hash=item1a8636e4cf:g:CEkAAOSwffRdoMtg and here https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/woodburn-1957-lotus-diva-not-7-or-cobra/6995522255.html Birkin https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1271373/1967-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-washington-missouri-63090 Stalker (I didn't know you could get them without the hood scoop - looks good like that). http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16047&stc=1 https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/lake-forest-lotus-super-7/6998325111.html REPEATS MK Indy https://www.ebay.com/itm/Caterham-Lotus-7-MK-Indy-R-Kit-Car/153660080541?hash=item23c6dac19d:g:xcIAAOSwRwddG5CQ Lotus 7 S2 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Lotus-Super-Seven/223653636043?hash=item3412cba7cb:g:IRUAAOSwbzpdcqDW Also advertized on Hemmings and ClassicCars.com Lotus 7 S2 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Lotus-Seven-Series-2/293271970788?hash=item44485f23e4:g:hSYAAOSwGVRdCDgO and here http://www.taylormadeclassiccars.com/vehiclesforsale.html Wharton https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Lotus-Seven-Aluminum-and-hand-laid-fibreglass/193109785147?hash=item2cf63d7a3b:g:31AAAOSwEF5dgjgl Caterham SCCA https://www.wirewheel.com/inventory/available/2001-caterham-race-car-for-sale/ Caterham SV Hayabusa http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1458694360/1458694360ss.htm Lotus 7 S2 http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/lotus/1557321710/1557321710ss.htm Stalker http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/lotus/1437589044/1437589044ss.htm Stalker https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/lotus/7/2167534.html Lotus 7 S1 https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/lotus/7/2099394.html Replica https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/lotus/super-seven/2289894.html Caterham https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/caterham/unspecified/2320672.html Caterham SV https://vintageracecarsales.com/portfolio-view/2013-caterham-seven-480/ Super Seven Sportscar (Fejer) http://sodo-moto.com/listings/super-seven-2tg/ Birkin http://sodo-moto.com/listings/1990-birkin-seven-so-cal/ Birkin http://sodo-moto.com/listings/1991-birkin-seven/ Caterham SV http://britauto.com/portfolio-view/201216-nos-caterham-sv-roadsport/ Caterham http://britauto.com/portfolio-view/2000-caterham/ Westfield https://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/pompano-beach-1992-westfield-sei-lotus-7/6988601481.html Caterham https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/san-francisco-1998-lotus-super-seven/6988462358.html Stalker https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/d/north-vernon-brunton-stalker-lotus-kit/6981373199.html CANADA Wolf 7 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1436702029 MCC 7 Project https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1432118799 Body parts https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1446688879 Dutton Malaga https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1461384777 Caterham https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1454204099 Caterham https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1457842919 Caterham https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1410777802
  8. Ah that was it - I remember TJ’s explanation now. Your final paragraph is spot on - needs emphasis.
  9. Brilliantly said. That’s the reason I moved over to Apple, didn’t go pear shaped all the time. Gives me another reason to wind up JohnCh on this forum who i think is in charge of the Microsoft Quality Control function. Still he has a Westfield... Well said! TJ and Ian at my workshop don’t like me kissing them though. They like petite blondes with big....
  10. I call this fettling. All sevens require some level of fettling out of the box or new to your ownership - new or used it does not really matter. The objective is to get them reliable. They are more highly strung than a regular car (e.,g. Camry) so need to have a level of preventative maintenance that a lot of owners don't think to do. Knowing the seller will allow you to assess whether this level of care has been brought to bear to ensure a level of reliability. If not then you buy expecting to have to remediate something. Your bid to buy should allow for some contingency to repair things.
  11. This was the red Birkin wasn't it? They did look great until you went offroad at the Jersey Devil at NJMP. Not sure that was a maintenance issue....
  12. I have inspected cars for forum members to help save a flight. This forum is pretty widely located across North America so a good chance someone will pitch in and help out if you put a request out on the forum, especially if in one of the population centers on the east and west coasts.
  13. Yes I seem to recall buying a certain maroon seven sight unseen on Ebay after a inhaling 1.5 bottles of red wine in a boozy night with Yellowss7, JeffH and Simon15.... ....fortunately the car was better than my next morning. :ack: I also recall doing it with other cars.... :leaving: Make the effort to go and see it if you want to be sure.
  14. Figures it would be my fault! :svengo:
  15. Since Sebastian and Simon W are going for 297hp Duratecs with their winter upgrade then I think I need to go bigger. Maybe a new Caterham, bulk hp and fatter new wheels/tires? A Millington engine is the ticket here - visiting them this Friday: https://www.millingtonengines.co.uk/new-engines/ Really need Simon and Seb to confirm their winter plans so I can settle my engine spec. :troll:
  16. I give him 3 weeks before he buys another. :jester:
  17. For you? Needs to be ginormous! I need a tongue sticking out smiley on this app.

  19. I just love how Panamericano thought I was offending Arkansas with my comment when it was really the other way around.... Subtlety gets you nowhere I suppose!
  20. That was excellent. I am sure a certain "Boss of the House" will be of two minds about this development. On the other hand, I am sure your son is showing the video excerpts at school to get bonus points with the girls. As for me, when are you going to buy yourself a new kit? Double trailer? Just sayin.... Second thoughts...why don't you drive the Miata? You could backfill its cosmetic challenges?
  21. Lol - was it ever windy there!
  22. Check the seller. It’s likely Kampena Motors. Demonstrator model? Probably ran on dealer plates all that time with the odd track day? Price is interesting. There will be a reason for it Maybe a little tatty? Maybe no receipts for drive train after all this time so that will be a pain in many states to get through title process?
  23. Lotus 7 S2 https://bransonauction.com/auction-consignments/lotus/super-7/1962-lotus-super-7/
  24. Caterham never sold the 13 inch wheel for the CSR. The standard 13 inch wheel for S3 or SV will bolt on the front of a CSR without a problem. The rears are the issue since they have a different offset to the S3 or SV. Also the rear brake calipers prevent clearance with a 13 inch wheel So you need a non-Caterham 13 inch wheel - I use the Westermann BBS wheel as it has a larger inner barrel and I like the styling but you could use other brands just as easily once you have the offset correct. You still need to modify the rear calipers to provide inside wheel clearance. This involves modifying to use new tighter caliper banjo fittings and grinding the cooling fins off the calipers. Westermann sell a kit but you could do your own method. Race CSRs do not have the same issue as they use a different upright and rear brake set up to the road CSRs. They also have no handbrake. The shift to 13 inch wheels is an intricate process to do but it does transform the car from less rotational mass of the wheels plus I find the handling improved with more predictable break away. Pity you are not closer - you could check out my car to understand the changes better.
