  1. I’ll put my new mirrors on!
  2. Worst case can the put us out with open wheelers? (similar to them unexpectedly joining us 2 years ago)
  3. You could try checking with the LoCost folks. There may be someone over there who’s in Fl
  4. IIRC Slomove had a ‘key’ on the back of his car to look like an old ‘wind up’ toy (or go kart in this case). This was probably 10-15years ago… It may have also involved a surfboard. Possibly on the old Birkin forum. Like this - but home made
  5. Now you need the 'wind up key' the SloMove used to have
  6. I use Sierra (Propylene Glycol - less toxic antifreeze. With assembly/ disassembly I’ve spilt far too much to risk our dog’s safety. thankfully no close calls but good insurance.
  7. The yellow label is a patch sewn onto my belts. What if you (carefully & with surgical precision) just removed the offending yellow patches by cutting their threads?
  8. Jay i may have a spare water pump you can have. The Duratec’s are all plastic… are you sure it’s the pump/plastic manifold or could it be a hose junction?
  9. Accepting that head neck restraint devices are a good idea for HPDE & track driving. I have not used one before and a quick search reveals the typical 1x-5x price range with various styles, whistles & bells. What advice & comments do folks have regarding model selection, fitment & personal preferences for a first time shopper? Addendum: FWIW I have Schroth 6 point. 2" webbing. But interested in general comments as well.
  10. I use a local shop for alignment & have found other folks for specific parts/repairs. But don’t have a ‘mechanic for repairs’
  11. Has anyone driven Palmer in their se7en (or other vehicle)? Any thoughts or comments on the track?
  12. While not required I recommend the raceline oil filter adapter. And tillett seat(at least for driver). tom has an ECU system that’s been working well for him.
  13. I would take it to an alternator repair shop. They can test it out & likely repair/rebuild more easily than trying to track down a bespoke replacement
  14. I’m not familiar with the caterham wiring schematic. however the Birkin wiring uses the resistance of incandescent bulbs as ground for indicator lights [this is my non-engineering understanding] When I installed LED lights for rear indicators everything went wacky…. this was resolved by inserting an diode assembly between switch/lights/ground
  15. They did that design a year or two ago. Navy blue
  16. Or you can pitch a tent in the field.
  17. I'm in. THANK YOU Croc & YellowsS7
  18. Sleep In truck? or bring a friend and drive straight through in shifts?
  19. Find a local shop. There is an AutoElectric guy near me who rebuilds alternators & starters. He’s repaired my tractor alternator (new-replacement units were unobtanium) as well as the 7’s alternator when one of the diode’s failed. All very affordably too.
  20. I have 2.0 Duratec, different throttle bodies and a sport1000 so some things may be different. I think you may have an internal MAP sensor? Hopefully this gives you a starting point so you aren't stumbling around in the dark [Suggestions from any Boffins for me is also much appreciated] cut & paste isn't working satisfactorily for me tonight..... 21. Remind me again of your engine, throttle/carb, etc arrangement.
  22. Sadly that's a school day for me. Be careful: I took a blatt after good rain the beginning of December and found traces of salt afterwards.
  23. I Think i missed someting: are you using the Haltech Sport 1000 ?. Have you adjusted the 'cool temp corr' table and still having rough running until up to temp or something else? - Another long-shot is to double check your wiring. For a while i had poor/rough running until everyithg was nice and warm (ran rough under load). Then wire to cylinder #4 failed copmletely, and rough running resolved with loom repair. All along problem was the failing wire working better once warm & expanded. . p.
  24. Tempesto try searching and/or posting on LocostUSA forum. There used to be a lot of Emerald users there. They're just as good as the folks here on USA7s, but a lot more mechanically skilled. good luck
  25. The mocal catalog is worth perusal. as I recall: Half textbook half catalog.
