Charlie - Thank you for the “Last Man Standing” performance award. The rain stopped, track dried up, & last session was great! It was myself, the Formula Atlantic & lots of open track. I cannot thank Croc & YellowS7 enough for organizing (herding cats) and otherwise smoothing over all the bumps & hiccups that inevitably pop up. -

New Build, Indicators and Flashers Stopped Working
wemtd replied to TN_Scooter's topic in General Tech
If your switches are like mine: (simplified version)… all connections go through hazard switch. After switch is activated there is often a bad connection resulting in indicator light malfunction. cycling the switches on/off several times (probably rubbing off disuse oxidation) will restore normal function through the hazard switch. -

John Et al. The colors look good! re stickers: would it format on an oval vinyl cling sticker? I’ve had one on my car for years without falling off. & I’ve removed them without any marks.

Have you looked into Tillett b6 seat? I think this is the one caterham uses for many seats also. As bear bones as it is I find mine very comfortable on long drives. And between the various caterham importers and the other USA importer expect you can find one (with a little patience)

Any idea if there will be changes from last years tech inspection? Eg: Caliper thicknesses? is it still 6years from tyre manufacturing date? -
I got this pre-pandemic, not sure if they're still available. Auto Armour out of houston tx. sales them part # 682684392077

Taking hose to parts store & looking through their selection to find one with the right shape to cut out has worked well for me.

Birkin 7 S3 rear passenger wing replacement?
wemtd replied to Lego7S3's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Number on web page is correct. Try calling BirkinDirect after the holiday. if Tom is in the office he’s very responsive. If not did you leave a voicemail? I don’t expect the Caterham fender will fit the Birkin. -

Cushion for tillet/composite seats?

Do you have the tillett suede pads? I find mine quite comfortable with them even on long drives. -
? I thought zetec intake is on passenger side? I’m not sure about year. Mine usually localizes to 2008-2012 focus but is ‘coil on plug’ wired

Locost looks to be temporarily down. I have no doubts their Admin is working tirelessly to get it back up and running, and will have things sorted shortly.

I expect Beachman is still in business. try PM to @JohnCh or @Croc i believe both know him & have been to his shop & may be able to reach him offline.

I was fortunate to see an old friend today. And must now belatedly nominate @Vovchandr for the ‘Polisher’ award this year. The Bday award has already been delivered to @FasterThanVov Ps. We still need to coordinate a blat before they salt the roads. Are there any good roads through the Catskills? cheers

Sevens are perfect for USA autocrossing. Why no posts here for years?
wemtd replied to pethier's topic in Autocrossing
Auto-X? Here??? I think yellowS7 also started out AutoX ‘ing (as well as many other folks here have). I’ve been AutoX’ing for 6 years now. I do okay with the group I drive with & the car handles well. In this time my driving skill and ability have greatly improved. By comparison the one time I tried driving the Mini it handled like a brick. So yes! Se7en are brilliant AutoX cars. As a generalization I think we’re too busy having fun driving to post about it online. -
Would these rules still apply if the car were truly for track use/not to be registered or driven on roads? (I do mean this out of curiosity, not at all a ‘Monty python: wink-wink, nudge nudge’ question). Didn’t a group from UK/Ireland do a USA in 7’s tour with their cars back in 2005? (And then ship their cars home one month later?)

I definitely added a few pounds between the clubhouse Chef’s cooking & the Green Olive. Which further added to my lap times.
