Thank goodness you’re safe. I believe Chris retired several years ago. what engine & particulars do you have? Might help folks in the know. i expect the cable is off the shelf. And worst case if you can find wiring diagram & build a new loom. some folks have used “painless wiring harness” though I suspect this solves a more Modern loom problem

Food for thought: 1) Horizontal racequip oil filter adapter (or remote filter) 2) oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate 3) drain plug in bottom of radiator (cleaner than disconnecting hose to drain system) 4) CHMSL with turn indicator lights 5) aero-style (newton equip) gas filler cap - doesn’t leak, works great. 6) Tillett seat. 7) spray bed liner under wheel arches

Would there be any use in taking an(or multiple) wheels off the trailer if it isn't used on a regular basis?

This is fantastic news. You should drive her home over Boxing Day weekend

JB: I currently have the tall Birkin roll bar on my car if you want to test fit for size? caveat is Tillett driver seat with bespoke mounting bracket.
-
Where in CT are you located? pm me: there are actually quite a few of us in the region & we try to coordinate driving. re: gear ratio - you could try talking to John @ quantum dynamics by the Oxford airport (if he’s still there). If you can’t get him by phone it’s worth driving by. ps: welcome to se7en ownership. Also It’s a good habit to go-over everything with a torque wrench as driving tends to loosen things up. And you’ll learn where you need to focus attention.

Depending on the connector you can re-pin it. My Haltech ecu uses a Deutsch connector for O2 sensor. Sensor is standard Bosch unit. I replaced stock pins with a Deutsch connector.

Ooh🫣 looks like a Ford mondeo annular cylinder (need to check my notes) not available in parts stores here. If your caterham supplier doesn’t have it Tom Carlin probably will.
-
May not work for Caterham: but I've found best technique in Birkin is to remove all incidentals from engine, elevate the car (on lift, or horses/blocks, etc), place a nylon strap around engine at 4th cylinder(balance point) and using a chain hoist lower the engine/transmission combo down to a dolly. After a few times this is an easy one person task. Keeping the gearbox level avoids dumping gear oil out the tail shaft. Enjoy se7ven ownership !

What cool protective eyewear have you found?

FWIW I've worn glacier glasses for years without any noticeable vision limitation. Consider that if you wear glasses you can't see lateral to the lens any way: so leather side shield is moot. -

“Glacier glasses” style sunglasses & ball cap tied to seatbelt anchor with para-cord. I probably look like a trainspotter who’s forgotten their anorak. But most would not consider driving the seven the be chique. -
This lookalike a bargain, and SB100 too! Re salty climates: If you pass the test fit, pm me for additional thoughts & experiences

Fwiw - since locktite was mentioned: to disengage/remove parts that have thread locker on them all you need to do is warm them up. (Different temps for different strength locker). Use a heat gun or fire & patience.

Not that we encounter. Everyone seemed to (mostly) behave themselves & a good time was had by all. I think one or two big cars not letting anyone by. Good run group sizes too.

Charlie - Thank you for the “Last Man Standing” performance award. The rain stopped, track dried up, & last session was great! It was myself, the Formula Atlantic & lots of open track. I cannot thank Croc & YellowS7 enough for organizing (herding cats) and otherwise smoothing over all the bumps & hiccups that inevitably pop up. -

New Build, Indicators and Flashers Stopped Working
wemtd replied to TN_Scooter's topic in General Tech
If your switches are like mine: (simplified version)… all connections go through hazard switch. After switch is activated there is often a bad connection resulting in indicator light malfunction. cycling the switches on/off several times (probably rubbing off disuse oxidation) will restore normal function through the hazard switch.
